Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing Bristle goods with plastic bristles that act as monofilaments endlessly extruded, cut to the desired length and individually or in groups as bristles to be attached to a bristle holder. Furthermore concerns the invention bristle goods produced by the method.
- Bristle goods such as toothbrushes, massage brushes, brushes, Textile and carpet brushes, but also a variety technical brushes, only serve their intended purpose over a period of use that is almost exclusively is determined by the wear of the bristles and otherwise on the type of bristle product and the desired Work result depends.
- Brushes used in the personal care area become. This includes massage brushes, cosmetic brushes, but above all toothbrushes. That of the invention underlying problem is only exemplary below explained on toothbrushes.
- toothbrushes is already in the past century been recognized (US 74 560 -1868) that the bristles that at that time made exclusively from animal hair sharp edges or burrs due to cutting processes that can lead to injury to the gingiva.
- bristles are used for toothbrushes, but also for other brushes that human bodies are used on their usage side Rounded ends by mechanical grinding.
- US 74 560 a conical grinding is used rounded tip suggested.
- toothbrushes have become almost exclusive Plastic bristles are used which are extruded from Monofilaments can be cut to the desired length.
- the so Short cuts obtained are usually bundled collected and then attached to the toothbrush head.
- the bristle has one in the final state same cylindrical cross-section over its length and is at its usage end to a dome-like Rounded tip.
- tapered bristles to use at least better with individual bristles of the bristle trim the interdental spaces penetrate and also fissures on the To be able to effectively clean the tooth surface.
- the bristle must have a rounded tip in order to Injuries to the gingiva, or - like newer scientific ones Studies have shown- brush lions to avoid on the tooth. This applies in particular to sensitive gingiva or sensitive tooth necks that with almost half of the consumers.
- the core is primarily the strength engineering Requirements while the shell the cleaning and Maintenance function takes over.
- the invention has for its object the user the bristle goods regardless of the actual wear and tear when using the bristle goods constantly visual information about the current state of use and the level of current wear give.
- the degree of wear or the need to exchange the Subsequent marking indicating the brush namely after extrusion on the monofilament or on the cut Bristle attached, in the form of a color offset, line-shaped demarcation, the one the Condition of use and thus the degree of wear Distance from the use end of the bristle having.
- This distance i.e. the location of the demarcation, can be set according to essentially objective criteria be tested by testing the finished bristles subjected and type and extent of wear to the individual bristles is examined macroscopically. Based of the average values of the Wear of the bristles of the entire bristle stock the bristle length can be determined at which are detrimental to the intended function of the brush Show signs of wear. Accordingly then the boundary attached to the monofilament or the bristle.
- bristles can be any Shaping like single-core monofilament, multi-core Monofilament, coextruded monofilament, bristles with flags or tapered bristle ends, with a consumption indicator be equipped for the consumer is clearly perceptible and not from the wear and tear depends.
- bristle goods only need some bristles or just a few bristles within several Mark the bundle with the color-coded marking to indicate the degree of wear.
- This Bristles or bundles become one particularly in the areas Provide the brush where due to endurance tests the wear progresses fastest.
- only such bristles for attaching the boundary use which are outside in the bristle trim, which the The advantage is that the marking or delimitation on the finished brush can be retrofitted.
- the line-shaped boundaries can be defined by the boundary lines strip-shaped markings are formed and there can be several stripe-shaped marks of different Width to show different usage conditions be attached.
- the demarcation can be done on the monofilament generated after extrusion, for example at intervals following the later bristle length.
- the delimitation can also be done after cropping the finished bristle are attached, preferably however, the demarcation is only on the outside Bristles of the bristle stock before or after it is attached generated on the bristle holder.
- the bristle trim in the final configuration of the Bristles or bundles fixed in a holder (e.g. EP 0 346 646) and with the holder to the brush production machine to hand over.
- This is preferably an injection molding machine, in which the bristles on the fastening ends of the bristles with the plastic the bristle carrier is encapsulated.
- the process, as well as marking the bristles the delimitation of the finished brush goods can be one very simple, the other very precise Apply long-term results. She leaves if necessary, limit each other locally, whereby it due to the narrow bristles in general it does not matter that each external bristle has one Mark carries because the bristles on several Marking made over the entire extent of the Bristle trim as a line or stripe-shaped demarcation represents optically. This applies in particular to demarcations, which in the form of dots or stripes or generated as part of a circumferential line on the bristles become.
- toothbrushes are often contoured, around the brush surface the contours of the teeth, the teeth or even the mouth. So there are usage ends of the bristles in one of the plane deviating envelope surface. With such brushes, in particular According to the invention, toothbrushes are delimited in one corresponding to this envelope surface, preferably parallel position attached.
- the demarcation can also be determined by the boundary line from in Longitudinal direction of the bristles of different colored zones generated, which in turn by post-treatment with physical processes can be obtained.
- bristles that consist of a core and a shell can be produced, for example, by coextrusion the delimitation on the core, the shell or on both are generated to different states of use or degrees of wear.
- the Core with a demarcation that one has a smaller distance from the end on the use side as a mark made on the shell.
- the core Mark exposed to, for example, the user indicate that the wear is a significant amount has reached while the one attached to the cover Marking the user the necessary exchange of the Brush signals.
- This training is recommended especially for those bristles that contain fillers in the shell, for example those with an abrasive effect, contain.
- the cover can also be made of a transparent plastic exist and the core with a translucent demarcation be provided.
- the demarcation is during the Use the brush constantly with a certain color intensity imperceptible. Will be used while using the Coat removed, so the demarcation finally appears in possibly stronger color intensity to the To prompt users to replace the brush.
- the Production of the bristle serving monofilament from a Pigments filled plastic that is extruded on Laser beams react with a color change, the Delimitation by the action of laser beams on the Monofil or the bristles produced from it becomes.
- Laser technology is suitable in the context of the invention Procedure in a special way because of the marking not only on the surface, but also in the depth of the Monofils or the bristles is generated. Furthermore, with the marking with the parallel beam laser light delimited and precisely located. Also the depth of the marking can be determined by the parameters of the laser. It is also possible to use two or two multi-core bristles for only one core a pigmented Use monofilament so that only this marks becomes. With a monofilament consisting of core and shell can only the core or only the shell with pigments be filled around the marking either on the cover or attached to the core. If both are filled with pigments, can use markers to display different Conditions of use attached to the shell and core become.
- the monofilament from two polymers different absorption coefficients for laser beams it is also possible to use the monofilament from two polymers different absorption coefficients for laser beams to extrude. In this case, pigmentation are omitted and the marking takes place predominantly through color change at the interface with the more absorbent Polymer. If the two polymers become one Coextruded monofilament, the color change can also be done alone at the interface between core and shell.
- the laser technology has the particular advantage that the uneven side surface of the bristle trim, which consists of a A large number of adjacent bristles is formed and thus appears as an irregularly corrugated envelope surface represents external bristle coats, nevertheless with an optically closed marking can be. Laser technology also gives you the opportunity an explanatory note below the delimitation To apply labeling in the same way as the delimitation, the user can read the state of use displays.
- the demarcation can be attached the inkjet process can also be used, in which the applied color in the micropores of the surface of the Bristle penetrates.
- Other procedures with similar precise paint application can be provided.
- the monofilament with extruded a thin color-bearing cover layer and the Delimitation is generated by removing the top layer. This removal can in turn be done by laser beams.
- the invention further relates to the aforementioned Processed bristle goods that are characterized by this distinguish that at least a part of the bristle external bristles a contrasting color, in essential line-shaped demarcation in a state of use representative distance from the user side Has ends of the bristle.
- the brush according to Fig. 1 consists of a carrier 1, e.g. made of plastic, to which a bristle trim 2 is attached, of the shown embodiment from a variety of bristle bundles is what is shown in the drawing simple dash lines is indicated, with each bundle has a plurality of bristles 3, one of which is exemplary 2 and 3 is shown.
- the user-side ends 4 the bristles lie on an enveloping surface 5, which of the Level deviates. In the specific case, it shows a level Section 6 and an arched section 7. in this connection for example, the head of a toothbrush act.
- the delimitation 9 is a marking line clearly recognizable. This at the Marking line on the outside of the bristles on the outside 9 shows up on the entire bristle trim, too if it consists of individual bundles, than essentially closed marking line 10.
- the distance of the delimitation 9 from the Dome-like dome 8 can also be defined by the laser parameters controllable depth of the delimitation 9 for displaying the Degrees of wear can be used.
- the delimitation 9 is preferably made in Endurance testing of the brush with macroscopic examination of the Signs of wear on the individual bristles. by virtue of these wear measurements can be made in the case of FIG. 1 recognizable envelope surface 5, the marking line 10 parallel to the envelope surface 5 of the ends on the usage side or at uneven wear in different areas also be formed in a different line.
- Bristle trimmings 2 in turn are indicated by dashes Bundle up. At least some of the bristles on the outside Bundles are again marked delimiters 18, that appear optically as a broken line.
- Each individual bristle 19 of the bristle stock 2 consists of a core 20 and a shell 21, for example made of different polymers or from the same polymers, from which the polymer forming the shell 21 with pigments is filled.
- a delimitation 22 On the shell 21 of the outer bristles 19 of the bristle stock 2 is again a delimitation 22, preferably attached by laser.
- the demarcation 22 neighboring Bristles in a bundle make up one section the broken line 18.
- the delimitation 22 here again indicates the degree of wear upon reaching the brush discarded should be. With this degree of wear disappears gradually the marking delimitation 22.
- the Bristle trimmings in turn from bundles, the outer ones Bristles two marking boundaries 23, 24 from if necessary of different strengths.
- the bristle trim 2 consists of abrasive bristles 25, as in 12 and 13 are shown. They also consist of a core 26 and a shell 27 forming the jacket. They are also rounded at their ends on the usage side.
- the plastic forming the shell 27 is abrasive acting particles filled.
- the marking demarcation 23 is only attached to the sleeve 27, while the marking Delimitation 24 both on the shell 27 and is provided on the core 26. This is possible, for example with appropriately pigmented plastics by adjustment the penetration depth of the laser beams.
- Fig. 14 shows an embodiment in which the bristle trim 2 consists of flagged bristles 28, these have a massive bristle shaft 29 on the usage side End is split into individual flags 30. These flags 30 ensure gentle treatment during the brushing process. On the other hand, they are due to their smaller cross-section little wear-resistant. To the To ensure gentle treatment, the brush must comparatively little wear on the flags 30 exchanged become. It is therefore on the flags 30 in the Bristle trimmings 2 external bristles in line-shaped boundaries 31, for example by laser, which ensure that the flags 30 are still on a There are partial lengths (Fig. 16) if the user through the marking delimitation 31 reaching the Service life is displayed.
- the Bristle trim 2 in addition to be marked, linear Demarcations 32 have a label indicating the state of use displays.
- the word “sensitive” is there for a gentle soft effect of the bristles, which then is no longer given if the delimitation 32 with the Inscription "stop” is reached.
- the user who too takes a little harder effect of the bristles, is marked by the second marking 33 with the Inscription "hard” made aware of this fact.
- one Bristle 36 is a strip-shaped on its jacket Mark 37 applied, the upper end 38 with Distance from the end 39 of the bristle on the use side is.
- This upper end 38 of the mark 37 forms in complete bristle trim in turn a linear Demarcation.
- the degree of wear in this case will be the Users indicated that the outer bristles a light color at the ends on the usage side exhibit. If the wear reaches the upper ends 38 of the Marking, the entire bristle trim appears dark; what the user the need to exchange the Brush indicates.
