  • the present invention relates to crankcase lubricants. More particularly, it relates to universal lubricants which are effective to minimize soot related viscosity increase and thermal oxidation induced viscosity increase while preventing wear and corrosion under a variety of conditions.

Claims (7)

  1. Kurbelgehäuseschmierstoff mit einem Sulfataschegehalt zwischen 0,35 und 2 Gew.%, der eine größere Menge eines Öls mit Schmiermittelviskosität umfasst, dem die folgenden Komponenten zugefügt worden sind:
    A) stickstoffhaltige TBN-Quelle ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus aschefreien stickstoffhaltigen Dispergiermitteln, aschefreien stickstoffhaltigen Dispergiermittel-Viskositätsmodifizierungsmitteln, öllöslichen aliphatischen, Oxyalkyl- oder Arylalkylaminen und Mischungen derselben;
    B) Metallsalz einer öllöslichen Säure mit einer TBN über 100;
    C) Magnesiumsalz in einer Menge, die mindestens 500 (Gew.)ppm Magnesium liefert;
    D) mindestens ein Metalldikohlenwasserstoffdithiophosphat, und
    E) borhaltiges Additiv in einer Menge, die mindestens 100 (Gew.)ppm Bor liefert,
    wobei die stickstoffhaltige TBN-Quelle dem Schmierstoff mindestens 1,5 TBN liefert, das Metallsalz einer öllöslichen Säure mindestens 40 % der gesamten TBN der Zusammensetzung liefert und mindestens 50 Mol.% der Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen des Metalldithiophosphats sekundär sind, wobei der Schmierstoff 0,2 Gew.% aktiven Bestandteil oder weniger an aromatischen Aminen mit mindestens zwei direkt an den Stickstoff gebundenen aromatischen Gruppen enthält und das Gewichtsverhältnis von Bor zu Stickstoff größer als 0,1 ist.
  2. Schmierstoff nach Anspruch 1, bei dem das Metallsalz einer öllöslichen Säure mit einer TBN über 100 ein Metallsalz einer öllöslichen Sulfonsäure ist.
  3. Schmierstoff nach Anspruch 2, bei dem das Metallsalz einer öllöslichen Sulfonsäure ein Magnesiumsalz ist, das auch die erforderlichen 500 (Gew.)ppm Magnesium liefert.
  4. Schmierstoff nach Anspruch 1, bei dem der Schmierstoff mindestens 1000 Gew.ppm Phosphor aufweist.
  5. Kurbelgehäuseschmierstoff mit einem Sulfataschegehalt zwischen 0,35 und 2 Gew.%, der eine größere Menge Öl mit Schmierviskosität umfasst, dem die folgenden Komponenten zugefügt worden sind:
    A) stickstoffhaltige TBN-Quelle ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus aschefreien stickstoffhaltigen Dispergiermitteln, aschefreien stickstoffhaltigen Dispergiermittel-Viskositätsmodifizierungsmitteln, öllöslichen aliphatischen, Oxyalkyl- oder Arylalkylaminen und Mischungen derselben;
    B) Metallsalz einer öllöslichen Säure mit einer TBN über 100;
    C) Magnesiumsalz in einer Menge, die mindestens 500 (Gew.)ppm Magnesium liefert;
    D) mindestens ein Metalldikohlenwasserstoffdithiophosphat;
    E) mindestens 0,0008 Mol.% öllösliches gehindertes Phenolantioxidans, und
    F) borhaltiges Additiv in einer Menge, die mindestens 100 (Gew.)ppm Bor liefert,
    wobei die stickstoffhaltige TBN-Quelle dem Schmierstoff mindestens 1,5 TBN liefert, das Metallsalz einer öllöslichen Säure mindestens 40 % der gesamten TBN des Schmierstoffs liefert, mindestens 50 Mol.% der Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen des Metalldithiophosphats sekundär sind, der Schmierstoff 0,2 Gew.% aktiven Bestandteil oder weniger an aromatischen Aminen mit mindestens zwei direkt an den Stickstoff gebundenen aromatischen Gruppen enthält und das Gewichtsverhältnis von Bor zu Stickstoff größer als 0,1 ist.
  6. Kurbelgehäuseschmierstoff nach Anspruch 1, 3, 4 oder 5, bei dem mindestens 75 Mol.% der Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen an dem Metallthiophosphat sekundär sind.
  7. Kurbelgehäuseschmierstoff mit einem Sulfataschegehalt zwischen 0,35 und 2 Gew.%, der eine größere Menge eines Öls mit Schmiermittelviskosität umfasst, dem die folgenden Komponenten zugefügt worden sind:
    A) stickstoffhaltige TBN-Quelle ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus aschefreien stickstoffhaltigen Dispergiermitteln, aschefreien stickstoffhaltigen Dispergiermittel-Viskositätsmodifizierungsmitteln, öllöslichen aliphatischen, Oxyalkyl- oder Arylalkylaminen und Mischungen derselben;
    B) Metallsalz einer öllöslichen Säure mit einer TBN über 100;
    C) Magnesiumsalz in einer Menge, die mindestens 500 (Gew.)ppm Magnesium liefert;
    D) mindestens ein Metalldikohlenwasserstoffdithiophosphat;
    E) mindestens 0,0008 Mol.% öllösliches gehindertes Phenolantioxidans, und
    F) borhaltiges Additiv in einer Menge, die mindestens 100 (Gew.)ppm Bor liefert,
    wobei die stickstoffhaltige TBN-Quelle dem Schmierstoff mindestens 1,5 TBN liefert, das Metallsalz einer öllöslichen Säure mindestens 40 % der gesamten TBN der Zusammensetzung liefert, mindestens 75 Mol.% der Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen des Metalldithiophosphats sekundär sind, der Schmierstoff 0,2 Gew.% aktiven Bestandteil oder weniger an aromatischen Aminen mit mindestens zwei direkt an den Stickstoff gebundenen aromatischen Gruppen enthält, der Schmierstoff mindestens 1000 (Gew.)ppm Phosphor enthält und das Gewichtsverhältnis von Bor zu Stickstoff größer als 0,1 ist.
