- the film web 37 is provided with glue in strips by a glue roller 151, which is immersed in a glue pot 152, so that the tear thread 149 subsequently attached adheres to the film web 37.
- the glue roller 151 is driven by a brake motor 153 via a belt drive with toothed belt 154. This also drives a preferred roller 160. This is an organ which exerts a tensile force on the film web 37, but with slippage.
- the tear thread 149 is pressed against the film web 37 by heated clamping jaws 174, 170, during a standstill phase thereof.
- the previously applied glue is activated by the heating.
- the section-wise advance of the film web 37 is effected by a pair of pull rollers 155 and 156.
- the pull roller 156 is driven by a main motor 157.
- the jacket of the pull roller 156 is provided with an elastic covering.
- the main motor 157 is a servomotor which ensures exact preferred lengths of the film web 37.
- the preferred length is matched to the size of the pull roller 156, such that the length of the film web 37 conveyed corresponds exactly to the circumference of this pull roller 156.
- the pull roller 155 is operatively connected to the pull roller 156 directly driven by the main motor 157, e.g. via a drive chain (not shown).
- the dancer roller 146 is moved upward. Initiators 158 and 159 are activated in succession by an index 171. By activating the second, upper initiator 159, the brake motor 153 is switched on. As a result, the (further) feed roller 160 driven by the latter is driven and at the same time also the glue roller 151. Furthermore, the pull of the tear thread 149 is started.
