- synthetic resins are particularly suitable because of the above-mentioned requirements with regard to tightness, food safety and chemical resistance. However, only the tubes can be cleaned after winding, so that this results in an expensive and time-consuming process of sandblasting.

- the metal strips are preferably wound into a cylindrical outer shape which is both rotatably supported and is movable in the axial direction. When the metal strips are wrapped, they then do not move relative to the outer shape. Rather, the metal strips are wound further and further into the outer form by a rotational movement and simultaneous movement of the outer form in the axial direction. Thus, since the pipe does not have to be moved relative to the shape, lubricants such as silicone oil, which would contaminate the surface of the pipe, are unnecessary. This eliminates the need to clean the pipe.
- a synthetic resin coating powder usually a thermoset, is particularly suitable.
- the outer mold segments are designed as permanent magnets.
- the spray device for the coating powder for spraying the synthetic resin intermediate layer between the metal strips to be wound is expediently located directly at the front opening of the outer mold, as is the spray device with which the inner surface of the wound tube is coated. Since the spraying of the outer surface of the tube is carried out immediately after leaving the outer mold, it is expedient to mount the spray device provided for this purpose directly on the outlet opening of the outer mold. After a certain networking. and calming section, the spirally offset metal strips are firmly and tightly connected. Pipes which are produced by the method mentioned and with the device described, however, do not only show the advantages already mentioned. In this way, completely identical pipe outer diameters are obtained. This is extremely important for a good seal when laying the finished pipes.
