Die Erfindung betrifft eine Verbesserung des den Gegenstand des Hauptpatents bildenden Wasserabscheiders, bei welchem das vom Wasser zu befreiende Gas, z. B. Druckluft, ein unten durch ein kegelförmiges Sieb abgeschlossenes Rohr abwärts und im Anschluß daran ein Mantelrohr wieder aufwärts durchströmt, so daß das Wasser am Siebe abgeschieden wird und in einen Sammelraum herabtropft. Nach der Erfindung wird in gewissem Abstand von dem kegelförmigen Sieb eine den Sammelraum teilweise überdeckende, an sich bekannte Prallplatte angebracht. Die Wasserabgabe wird durch diese Platte vervollständigt, da der Aufprall der Luft die Wasserabscheidung unterstützt und außerdem das angesammelte Wasser durch sie vom Luftstrom ferngehalten wird. Zweckmäßig wird die Platte mittels eines ringförmigen siebartigen Halters unter dem Fallrohr befestigt. Die Luft muß dann nach der Wasserabgabe und bei der Richtungsänderung nochmals ein Sieb durchqueren.
