技术领域
本发明涉及一种锂二次电池用电解质和包含所述电解质的锂二次电池。更特别地,本发明涉及一种锂二次电池,所述锂二次电池包含:
(i)正极活性材料,所述正极活性材料包含根据下式1的锂金属磷酸盐;
(ii)负极活性材料,所述负极活性材料包含无定形碳;和
(iii)锂二次电池用电解质,所述电解质包含锂盐和醚基溶剂,

背景技术
随着移动装置技术的持续开发和对其要求的持续增加,对作为能源的锂二次电池的要求急剧增加。近来,已经实现了将锂二次电池用作电动车辆(EV)和混合电动车辆(HEV)的电源。因此,正在积极对可满足多种要求的二次电池进行研究。特别地,对具有高能量密度、高放电电压和输出稳定性的锂二次电池的要求极高。
特别地,用于混合电动车辆中的锂二次电池必须在短时间内展示大的输出,并在日用基础上在重复充电和放电的苛刻条件下使用10年以上。因此,不可避免地要求锂二次电池比现有小型锂二次电池展示更优异的稳定性和输出特性。
鉴于此,现有锂二次电池通常使用具有层状结构的锂钴复合氧化物作为正极,并使用石墨基材料作为负极。然而,LiCoO2在具有诸如优异的能量密度和高温特性的优势的同时,具有诸如输出特性差的劣势。由于这种劣势,在突然驱动和快速加速时临时需要从电池提供高的输出,由此LiCoO2不适合用于需要高输出的混合电动车辆(HEV)中。另外,由于制备LiNiO2的方法的特性,难以在合理成本下将LiNiO2用于实际生产过程。而且,诸如LiMnO2、LiMn2O4等的锂锰氧化物展示诸如循环特性差等的缺点。
因此,正在对将锂过渡金属磷酸盐用作正极活性材料的方法进行研究。将锂过渡金属磷酸盐大致分为具有NaSICON结构的LixM2(PO4)3和具有橄榄石结构的LiMPO4,并在与现有LiCoO2比较时,认为是具有优异稳定性的材料。目前,具有NaSICON结构的Li3V2(PO4)3是已知的且作为具有橄榄石结构的化合物,最广泛研究的是LiFePO4和Li(Mn、Fe)PO4。然而,由于LiFePO4的电子传导率低,所以在将LiFePO4用作正极活性材料时电池的内阻增大,由此当电池电路闭合时极化电位升高,从而导致电池容量下降。
同时,主要将碳基活性材料用作负极活性材料。碳基活性材料具有非常低的约-3V的放电电位,并由于石墨烯层的单轴取向而展示极其可逆的充电/放电行为,由此展示优异的电极循环寿命。碳基活性材料的电极电位在对Li离子充电期间为0V(Li/Li+),由此可展示类似于纯锂金属的电位。因此,当形成包含锂过渡金属氧化物的正极和电池时,可以获得更大的能量。
碳基活性材料的实例包括:结晶石墨如天然石墨、合成石墨等;和无定形碳如软碳、硬碳等。结晶石墨的能量密度高,但输出特性相对差,由此不适合需要高输出的混合电动车辆(HEV)用电源。另外,当将酯基材料用作电解质时,存在诸如电解质分解的问题。
因此,优选将满足诸如高输出、长循环寿命和保存期限、高稳定性等的所有特性的锂二次电池作为混合电动车辆(HEV)用二次电池。然而,这种锂二次电池仍在开发之中。

作为各种细致研究和广泛实验的结果,本发明的发明人确认,当使用包含预定的锂金属磷酸盐作为正极活性材料和包含无定形碳作为负极活性材料的锂二次电池并使用预定的醚基溶剂和碳酸亚丙酯(PC)作为锂二次电池用电解质时,可以实现期望的效果,由此完成了本发明。
技术方案
根据本发明的一个方面,提供一种锂二次电池,所述锂二次电池包含:
(i)正极活性材料,所述正极活性材料包含根据下式1的锂金属磷酸盐;
(ii)负极活性材料,所述负极活性材料包含无定形碳;和
(iii)锂二次电池用电解质,所述电解质包含锂盐和醚基溶剂,
其中基于所述锂二次电池用电解质的总重量,在所述锂二次电池用电解质中以1重量%~60重量%的量包含碳酸亚丙酯(PC),
Li1+aM(PO4-b)Xb (1)
其中M为选自II族~XII族金属中的至少一种金属;X为选自F、S和N中的至少一种元素,-0.5≤a≤+0.5,且0≤b≤0.1。
如上所述,当将结晶石墨和非水醚基溶剂一起使用时,电解质会因结晶碳而分解。
因此,将包含无定形碳的负极活性材料用于本发明的锂二次电池中,由此解决了在将结晶石墨和非水醚基溶剂一起使用时发生的电解质分解问题,由此展示优异的室温和低温输出特性。
另外,本发明的发明人确认,当使用其中混合预定的醚基溶剂和碳酸亚丙酯(PC)的电解质时,由于产生气体而造成的溶胀现象会改善,由此提高高温寿命特性。
特别地,基于电解质的总重量,以1重量%~40重量%的量包含碳酸亚丙酯(PC)。当碳酸亚丙酯(PC)的量极大时,由于碳酸酯具有非常大的粘度的特性,所以电解质的离子传导率不期望地发生下降。另一方面,当碳酸酯基溶剂的量极小时,预期不会展示期望效果。
通过特别使用环状碳酸酯中的碳酸亚丙酯可以获得本发明的效果。
所述醚基溶剂例如可以为选自如下溶剂中的至少一种溶剂:四氢呋喃、2-甲基四氢呋喃、二甲醚和二丁醚,且可以特别地为二甲醚。
所述锂盐可以为选自如下物质中的至少一种物质:LiCl、LiBr、LiI、LiClO4、LiBF4、LiB10Cl10、LiPF6、LiCF3SO3、LiCF3CO2、LiAsF6、LiSbF6、LiPF6、LiAlCl4、CH3SO3Li、CF3SO3Li、(CF3SO2)2NLi、氯硼烷锂、四苯基硼酸锂和酰亚胺。锂盐在电解质中的浓度可以为0.5M~3M,特别地0.8M~2M。
所述锂金属磷酸盐可以为具有下式2的橄榄石晶体结构的锂铁磷酸盐:
Li1+aFe1-xM’x(PO4-b)Xb (2)
其中M’是选自如下元素中的至少一种元素:Al、Mg、Ni、Co、Mn、Ti、Ga、Cu、V、Nb、Zr、Ce、In、Zn和Y,X是选自如下元素中的至少一种元素:F、S和N,-0.5≤a≤+0.5,0≤x≤0.5,且0≤b≤0.1。
当a、b和x的值在上述范围之外时,电导率下降或不可能保持锂铁磷酸盐的橄榄石结构。另外,倍率特性劣化或容量会下降。
更特别地,具有橄榄石晶体结构的锂金属磷酸盐可以为LiFePO4、Li(Fe、Mn)PO4、Li(Fe、Co)PO4、Li(Fe、Ni)PO4等,更特别地为LiFePO4。
即,根据本发明的锂二次电池使用LiFePO4作为正极活性材料并使用无定形碳作为负极活性材料,由此解决了内阻升高的问题,所述内阻升高造成LiFePO4的电导率低,并可以展示优异的高温稳定性和输出特性。
含锂磷酸盐可以由第一粒子和/或第二粒子构成,在所述第二粒子中第一粒子发生物理聚集。
第一粒子的平均粒径可以为1纳米~300纳米,且第二粒子的平均粒径可以为1~40微米。特别地,第一粒子的平均粒径可以为10纳米~100纳米,且第二粒子的平均粒径可以为2~30微米。更特别地,第二粒子的平均粒径可以为3~15微米。
当第一粒子的平均粒径过大时,不会展示离子传导率的期望改进。另一方面,当第一粒子的平均粒径过小时,不易制造电池。另外,当第二粒子的平均粒径过大时,容积密度下降。另一方面,当第二粒子的平均粒径过小时,工艺不能有效实施。
第二粒子的比表面积(BET)可以为3m2/g~40m2/g。
锂金属磷酸盐可以涂布有导电材料以提高电导率,导电材料可以为选自如下材料中的至少一种材料:导电碳、贵金属、金属和导电聚合物。特别地,期望锂金属磷酸盐涂布有导电碳,这是因为可以在制备成本和重量不明显提高的条件下有效改进电导率。
基于正极活性材料的总重量,导电碳的量可以为0.1重量%~10重量%,特别是1重量%~5重量%。当导电碳的量过大时,锂金属磷酸盐的量相对下降,由此电池的总体特性劣化。另一方面,过小量的导电碳是不期望的,这是因为难以提高电导率。
在第一粒子和第二粒子中的各个粒子的表面上可以涂布导电碳。例如,导电碳在第一粒子的表面上可以涂布至0.1~100纳米的厚度,并在第二粒子的表面上可以涂布至1~300纳米的厚度。当基于正极活性材料的总重量,第一粒子涂布有0.5~1.5重量%的导电碳时,碳涂层的厚度可以为约0.1~2.0纳米。
在本发明中,无定形碳是除了结晶石墨之外的碳基化合物,例如可以为硬碳和/或软碳。无定形碳可以通过包括在1800℃以下的热处理的方法制得。例如,通过酚醛树脂或呋喃树脂的热分解可以制备硬碳,且通过焦炭、针状焦炭或沥青的碳化可以制备软碳。
将负极的X射线衍射(XRD)谱图示于图1中,在所述负极中使用无定形碳。
基于负极活性材料的总重量,所述硬碳和软碳例如可以以5:95~95:5的重量比混合。
无定形碳的平均粒径可以为例如0.01微米~30微米,且相对于其容量的比表面积可以为0.001m2/mAh~0.055m2/mAh。
无定形碳的平均粒径和相对于其容量的比表面积在最佳范围内以展示本发明的效果。因此,大于或小于所述范围的平均粒径和相对于容量的比表面积是不期望的。
下文中,将对本发明的锂二次电池的组成进行说明。
根据本发明的锂二次电池包含:正极,所述正极通过将正极活性材料、导电材料和粘合剂的混合物涂布在正极集电器上并对涂布的正极集电器进行干燥和压制而制得;和负极,所述负极使用与制造所述正极相同的方法制得。在此情况中,所述混合物可以按期望还包含填料。
通常将正极集电器制成3微米~500微米的厚度。正极集电器没有特别限制,只要其在制造的二次电池中不会造成化学变化并具有高电导率即可。例如,正极集电器可以由如下物质制成:不锈钢;铝;镍;钛;烧结碳;经碳、镍、钛、银等进行表面处理的铝或不锈钢。所述正极集电器可在其表面处具有细小的不规则处,从而提高正极活性材料与正极集电器之间的粘附力。另外,可以以包括膜、片、箔、网、多孔结构、泡沫和无纺布的多种形式中的任意形式使用所述正极集电器。
基于包含正极活性材料的混合物的总重量,典型地以1重量%~50重量%的量添加导电材料。对导电材料没有特别限制,只要其在制造的电池中不会造成化学变化并具有电导率即可。导电材料的实例包括但不限于:石墨如天然石墨或人造石墨;炭黑类材料如炭黑、乙炔黑、科琴黑、槽法炭黑、炉黑、灯黑和热裂法炭黑;导电纤维如碳纤维和金属纤维;金属粉末如氟化碳粉末、铝粉末和镍粉末;导电晶须如氧化锌和钛酸钾;导电金属氧化物如二氧化钛;和聚亚苯基衍生物。
粘合剂是有助于活性材料与导电材料之间的结合并有助于活性材料对集电器的结合的组分。基于包含正极活性材料的混合物的总重量,典型地以1重量%~50重量%的量添加所述粘合剂。粘合剂的实例包括但不限于聚偏二氟乙烯、聚乙烯醇、羧甲基纤维素(CMC)、淀粉、羟丙基纤维素、再生纤维素、聚乙烯基吡咯烷酮、四氟乙烯、聚乙烯、聚丙烯、乙烯-丙烯-双烯三元共聚物(EPDM)、磺化的EPDM、丁苯橡胶、氟橡胶和各种共聚物。
填料任选地用作用于抑制正极膨胀的组分。对于填料没有特别限制,只要其为在制造的二次电池中不会造成化学变化的纤维材料即可。填料的实例包括:烯烃类聚合物如聚乙烯和聚丙烯;以及纤维材料如玻璃纤维和碳纤维。
典型地将负极集电器制成3微米~500微米的厚度。所述负极集电器没有特别限制,只要其在制造的二次电池中不会造成化学变化并具有电导率即可。例如,负极集电器可以由如下物质制成:铜;不锈钢;铝;镍;钛;烧结碳;经碳、镍、钛或银进行表面处理的铜或不锈钢;以及铝-镉合金。与正极集电器类似,负极集电器可还在其表面上具有细小的不规则处,从而提高负极集电器与负极活性材料之间的粘附力。另外,可以以包括膜、片、箔、网、多孔结构、泡沫和无纺布的多种形式使用所述负极集电器。
锂二次电池可以具有其中电极组件浸渍有电解质的结构,所述电极组件包含正极、负极和设置在所述正极与所述负极之间的隔膜。
将隔膜设置在所述正极与所述负极之间,作为隔膜,使用具有高离子渗透率和高机械强度的绝缘薄膜。所述隔膜典型地具有0.01微米~10微米的孔径和5微米~300微米的厚度。作为隔膜,使用由如下物质制成的片或无纺布:烯烃聚合物如聚丙烯;玻璃纤维或聚乙烯,其具有耐化学性和疏水性。当将诸如聚合物的固体电解质用作电解质时,所述固体电解质还可以充当隔膜。
含锂盐的电解质由电解质和锂盐构成。作为所述电解质,可使用非水有机溶剂、有机固体电解质、无机固体电解质等,但本发明不限制于此。
所述非水有机溶剂可以为选自如下物质中的至少一种溶剂:碳酸酯基溶剂、酯基溶剂、醚基溶剂和酮基溶剂。特别地,非水有机溶剂可以为非质子有机溶剂,如N-甲基-2-吡咯烷酮、碳酸亚丙酯、碳酸亚乙酯、碳酸亚丁酯、碳酸二甲酯、碳酸二乙酯、γ-丁内酯、1,2-二甲氧基乙烷、四氢呋喃、2-甲基四氢呋喃、二甲亚砜、1,3-二氧戊环、甲酰胺、二甲基甲酰胺、二氧戊环、乙腈、硝基甲烷、甲酸甲酯、乙酸甲酯、磷酸三酯、三甲氧基甲烷、二氧戊环衍生物、环丁砜、甲基环丁砜、1,3-二甲基-2-咪唑烷酮、碳酸亚丙酯衍生物、四氢呋喃衍生物、醚、丙酸甲酯、丙酸乙酯等。
有机固体电解质的实例包括聚乙烯衍生物、聚环氧乙烷衍生物、聚环氧丙烷衍生物、磷酸酯聚合物、搅拌赖氨酸(agitation lysine)、聚酯硫醚、聚乙烯醇、聚偏二氟乙烯和含有离子离解基团的聚合物。
无机固体电解质的实例包括锂(Li)的氮化物、卤化物和硫酸盐,如Li3N、LiI、Li5NI2、Li3N-LiI-LiOH、LiSiO4、LiSiO4-LiI-LiOH、Li2SiS3、Li4SiO4、Li4SiO4-LiI-LiOH和Li3PO4-Li2S-SiS2。
所述锂盐是易溶于非水电解质中的材料,其实例包括但不限于LiCl、LiBr、LiI、LiClO4、LiBF4、LiB10Cl10、LiPF6、LiCF3SO3、LiCF3CO2、LiAsF6、LiSbF6、LiAlCl4、CH3SO3Li、(CF3SO2)2NLi、氯硼烷锂、低级脂族羧酸锂、四苯基硼酸锂和酰亚胺。锂盐在电解质中的浓度可以为0.5~3M。
另外,为了提高充/放电特性和阻燃性,例如,可以向电解质中添加吡啶、亚磷酸三乙酯、三乙醇胺、环醚、乙二胺、正甘醇二甲醚、六磷酰三胺(hexaphosphoric triamide)、硝基苯衍生物、硫、醌亚胺染料、N-取代的噁唑烷酮、N,N-取代的咪唑烷、乙二醇二烷基醚、铵盐、吡咯、2-甲氧基乙醇、三氯化铝等。在某些情况中,为了赋予不燃性,所述电解质可还包含含卤素的溶剂如四氯化碳和三氟乙烯。此外,为了提高高温储存特性,所述电解质可另外包含二氧化碳气体、氟代碳酸亚乙酯(FEC)、丙烯磺酸内酯(PRS)等。
可以将包含一个或多个上述锂二次电池的电池组用作需要高温稳定性、长循环寿命和高倍率特性的装置的电源。
所述装置的实例包括电动车辆、混合电动车辆(HEV)和插电式混合电动车辆(PHEV)等,且本发明的二次电池由于其优异的输出特性而可以期望用于混合电动车辆。
近来,正在对锂二次电池在电力存储装置中的使用进行积极研究,在所述电力存储装置中将未使用的电力转化成物理能或化学能以进行存储,并在需要时将转化的能量用作电能。
有益效果
如上所述,根据本发明的二次电池包含:预定的锂金属磷酸盐;无定形碳;和电解质,所述电解质包含醚基溶剂和碳酸亚丙酯,由此展示高温寿命特性和优异的室温和低温输出特性。因此,二次电池可适用于混合电动车辆中。

具体实施方式
<实施例1>
将86重量%作为正极活性材料的LiFePO4、8重量%作为导电材料的Super-P和6重量%作为粘合剂的PVdF添加到NMP以制备正极混合物浆料。在铝箔的一侧上对制得的正极混合物浆料进行涂布,干燥,并进行压制以制备正极。
将93.5重量%作为负极活性材料的软碳、2重量%作为导电材料的Super-P、3重量%作为粘合剂的SBR和1.5重量%作为增稠剂的CMC添加到作为溶剂的H2O以制备负极混合物浆料。在铜箔的一侧上对制得的负极混合物浆料进行涂布,干燥,并进行压制以制备负极。
使用CelgardTM作为隔膜,对正极和负极进行层压以制备电极组件。随后,将包含1MLiPF6的锂非水电解质添加到混合溶剂以制备锂二次电池,所述混合溶剂由80重量%的二甲醚和20重量%的碳酸亚丙酯(PC)构成。
<实施例2>
除了使用由70重量%的二甲醚和30重量%的碳酸亚丙酯(PC)构成的混合溶剂代替由80重量%的二甲醚溶剂和20重量%的碳酸亚丙酯(PC)构成的混合溶剂之外,以与实施例1中相同的方式制造了锂二次电池。
<比较例1>
除了使用碳酸酯(EC:EMC:DMC=20:40:40)代替由80重量%的二甲醚和20重量%的碳酸亚丙酯(PC)构成的混合溶剂之外,以与实施例1相同的方式制造了锂二次电池。
<比较例2>
除了使用由70重量%的二甲醚、10重量%的碳酸亚乙酯(EC)和20重量%的碳酸亚丙酯(PC)构成的混合溶剂代替由80重量%的二甲醚和20重量%的碳酸亚丙酯(PC)构成的混合溶剂之外,以与实施例1相同的方式制造了锂二次电池。
<比较例3>
除了使用由70重量%的二甲醚、20重量%的碳酸亚乙酯(EC)和10重量%的碳酸亚丙酯(PC)构成的混合溶剂代替由80重量%的二甲醚和20重量%的碳酸亚丙酯(PC)构成的混合溶剂之外,以与实施例1相同的方式制造了锂二次电池。
<实验例1>
在如下条件下对根据实施例1和比较例1制备的电池的相对电阻进行了测量:3次循环×(CC放电→静置20分钟→CC/CV充电)→静置30分钟→9次循环(在10%SOC下CC放电→静置1小时→10C放电10秒→静置30分钟→10C充电10秒→静置30分钟)。随后,在SOC50%下对根据下述输出式的相对输出进行了测量。将结果示于下图2中。
输出计算式=OCVSOC50%×(OCVSOC50%-Vmin)/RSOC50%
如图2中所示,能够确认,当与比较例1的电池相比时,实施例1的电池的输出相对增大。
<实验例2>
将根据实施例1和比较例1制备的锂二次电池放电至SOC50%的状态,然后在30℃的室内储存5小时。随后,在1C放电的条件下对相对输出进行了测量。将结果示于下图3中。
如图3中所示,能够确认,当与比较例1相比时,实施例1在低温下的输出相对增大。
<实验例3>
在与实施例2相同的条件下,对根据实施例2和比较例2和3制备的锂二次电池的相对输出进行了测量。将结果示于下图4中。
如图4中所示,能够确认,在低温下的输出随碳酸亚丙酯的量的增大而升高。
<实验例4>
将根据实施例2和比较例2和3制备的锂二次电池在全充电状态下存储在70℃的储存室内,并在储存期间,通过以每两周一次的方式实施3次循环×(全充电→全放电),对容量保持率进行了测量。将12周之后的相对容量保持率示于下图5中。
如图5中所示,能够确认,在高温下的储存性能随碳酸亚丙酯的量的增大而改进。
Claims (11)
1.一种锂二次电池,所述锂二次电池包含:
正极活性材料,所述正极活性材料包含根据下式1的锂金属磷酸盐;
负极活性材料,所述负极活性材料包含无定形碳;和
锂二次电池用电解质,所述电解质由锂盐、醚基溶剂和碳酸亚丙酯(PC)构成,
其中所述醚基溶剂为选自如下溶剂中的至少一种溶剂:二甲醚和二丁醚,
其中基于所述锂二次电池用电解质的总重量,在所述锂二次电池用电解质中以1重量%~60重量%的量包含碳酸亚丙酯(PC),
Li1+aM(PO4-b)Xb (1)
其中M为选自II族~XII族金属中的至少一种金属;X为选自F、S和N中的至少一种元素,-0.5≤a≤+0.5,且0≤b≤0.1。
2.根据权利要求1的锂二次电池,其中基于所述电解质的总重量,以1重量%~40重量%的量包含所述碳酸亚丙酯(PC)。
3.根据权利要求1的锂二次电池,其中所述锂盐为选自如下物质中的至少一种物质:LiCl、LiBr、LiI、LiClO4、LiBF4、LiB10Cl10、LiPF6、LiCF3SO3、LiCF3CO2、LiAsF6、LiSbF6、LiPF6、LiAlCl4、CH3SO3Li、CF3SO3Li、(CF3SO2)2NLi、氯硼烷锂、四苯基硼酸锂和酰亚胺锂,且所述锂盐在所述电解质中的浓度为0.5M~3M。
4.根据权利要求1的锂二次电池,其中所述锂金属磷酸盐为具有下式2的橄榄石晶体结构的锂铁磷酸盐:
Li1+aFe1-xM’x(PO4-b)Xb (2)
其中M’是选自如下元素中的至少一种元素:Al、Mg、Ni、Co、Mn、Ti、Ga、Cu、V、Nb、Zr、Ce、In、Zn和Y,
X是选自如下元素中的至少一种元素:F、S和N,且
-0.5≤a≤+0.5,0≤x≤0.5,且0≤b≤0.1。
5.根据权利要求4的锂二次电池,其中所述具有橄榄石晶体结构的锂铁磷酸盐为LiFePO4。
6.根据权利要求5的锂二次电池,其中所述具有橄榄石晶体结构的锂铁磷酸盐涂布有导电碳。
7.根据权利要求1的锂二次电池,其中所述无定形碳为硬碳和/或软碳。
8.一种电池模块,所述电池模块包含权利要求1的锂二次电池作为单元电池。
9.一种电池组,所述电池组包含权利要求8的电池模块。
10.一种包含权利要求9的电池组的装置。
11.根据权利要求10的装置,其中所述装置是混合电动车辆、插电式混合电动车辆或电力存储系统。
