Abstract
La presente invención proporciona un proceso para refinar propilenglicol de base biológica. En el proceso, los compuestos oleofílicos C5-C20, alcanos C5-C20 y/o compuestos de cetona oleofílica C4-C20 se someten a azeotropismo como un agente azeotrópico con el propilenglicol de base biológica para obtener un azeótropo que contiene propilenglicol. Posteriormente el agente azeotrópico en el azeótropo se separa para obtener un propilenglicol crudo que luego se purifica.
