PROCESO PARA PRODUCIR CRISTALES DE HIDRÓXIDO DE LITIO MONOHIDRATO, QUE COMPRENDE LAS ETAPAS DE (A) CONCENTRAR UNA SALMUERA QUE CONTIENE LITIO Y ADEMÁS CONTIENE SODIO, Y OPCIONALMENTE POTASIO PARA PRECIPITAR, ES CONCENTRADA PARA PRECIPITAR SODIO Y OPCIONALMENTE POTASIO DESDE LA SALMUERA; (B) OPCIONALMENTE PURIFICAR LA SALMUERA QUE CONTIENE LITIO PARA EXTRAER O REDUCIR LAS CONCENTRACIONES DE BORO, MAGNESIO, CALCIO, SULFATO Y CUALQUIER SODIO O POTASIO REMANENTE;(C) AJUSTAR EL PH DE LA SALMUERA QUE CONTIENE LITIO ENTRE 10,5 A 1I PARA VOLVER A EXTRAER CUALQUIER CATIÓN DIFERENTE AL LITIO;(D) PURIFICAR ADICIONALMENTE LA SALMUERA RESULTANTE DESPUÉS DE LA ETAPA (C) MEDIANTE INTERCAMBIO IÓNICO PARA REDUCIR LA CONCENTRACIÓN TOTAL DE CALCIO Y MAGNESIO A MENOS DE 150 PPB;(E) APLICAR ELECTRÓLISIS A LA SALMUERA RESULTANTE DESPUÉS DE LA ETAPA (D) PARA GENERAR UNA SOLUCIÓN DE HIDRÓXIDO DE LITIO QUE CONTIENE MENOS DE 150 PPB EN TOTAL DE CALCIO Y MAGNESIO.
