Description

Method of manufacturing a dial for a watch The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing a dial for a watch. This process is characterized by the fact that, by so much of a metal blank, in the form of a plate, hour signs appearing in relief on its anterior face are stamped on the latter, then, also by stamping, the material is cut. located between these signs so as to form an openwork hour circle.

The appended drawing represents, by way of example, a watch provided with a dial obtained by implementing the method according to the present invention.

Fig. 1 is a plan view of this watch; and fig. 2 is a section, on an enlarged scale, along the line II-II of FIG. 1.

The watch shown is a skeleton watch, the movement 1 of which is kept suspended by the dial 2, fixed by its periphery in the case 3. The dial has a perforated hour circle 2a located above a free annular zone. located between movement 1 and box 3.

The dial is obtained as follows: starting from a planar circular blank, the signs 2a are first of all stamped so as to appear in relief on the front face of the dial; then, also by striking, the material located between the signs 2a is cut off, thus producing the openwork hour circle. The dial is then domed by striking.

Of course, the invention is not limited to the dial shown, but could be applied to dials the hour turns of which could have very different shapes. -

CLAIM A method of manufacturing a dial for a watch, characterized by the fact that, starting from a metal blank, in the form of a plate, time signs are stamped on the latter appearing in relief on its front face and then, also by striking, cuts the material located between these signs so as to form an openwork hour circle. SUB-CLAIM Process according to claim, characterized in that after cutting, the dial is curved.
