Abstract
"DISPOSITIVO DE DISTRIBUIçãO DE AGENTE ATIVO ACIONADO OSMOTICAMENTE PROPORCIONANDO UM PERFIL DE LIBERAçãO ASCENDENTE". Em um aspecto, a presente invenção é dirigida a uma bomba osmótica, que proporciona, automaticamente, uma taxa de liberação ascendente de agente ativo, na medida em que a bomba osmótica funciona em um meio físico de operação, e pode ser projetada para implante dentro de um paciente animal ou humano desejado. Uma bomba osmótica, de acordo com a presente invenção, inclui um reservatório, uma membrana controladora de taxa, uma composição osmótica expansível, uma formulação de agente ativo e um orifício de saída. Uma vez administrada a um meio físico de operação, a água passa pela membrana controladora de taxa e para a composição osmótica, o que faz com que a composição osmótica se expanda e expila a formulação de agente ativo pelo orifício de saída, a uma taxa que é diretamente proporcional à taxa na qual a água passa pela membrana controladora de taxa. Uma bomba osmótica de acordo com a presente invenção permite que o fluxo de água pela membrana controladora de taxa aumente automaticamente, sem a necessidade de manipulação da bomba osmótica, após administração. Na medida em que o fluxo de água pela membrana controladora de taxa aumenta, a taxa na qual a formulação de agente ativo é distribuída da bomba osmótica vai também aumentar proporcionalmente.
