Abstract
"APARELHO PARA O AQUECIMENTO RáPIDO DE REAGENTES PARA USO EM UM REFORMADOR DE COMBUSTìVEL, MéTODO PARA A PARTIDA RáPIDA DE UM PROCESSADOR DE COMBUSTìVEL E APARELHO DE PROCESSAMENTO DE COMBUSTìVEL INTEGRADO PARA PARTIDA RáPIDA". Aparelho para aquecer rapidamente um ou mais reagentes para uso em um reformador de combustível. O aparelho inclui uma seção de combustão tendo uma parede externa encerrando uma câmara de combustão e um catalisador disposto dentro da câmara de combustão. O catalisador provê uma via de fluxo não difuso através da câmara de combustão para a combustão de gases e geração de calor e passagem destes gases e calor a partir da câmara de combustão. Uma seção de recuperação de calor está em comunicação de fluido com a seção de combustão e tem uma parede externa definindo uma câmara de recuperação de calor. Pelo menos um elemento de troca térmica está localizado dentro da câmara de recuperação de calor tendo uma entrada para receber um reagente de reforma de combustível e uma saída para dirigir um reagente aquecido para fora da seção de recuperação de calor. A seção de combustão é elevada com relação à seção de recuperação de calor de modo que os gases de combustão aquecidos são deslocados para baixo para dentro da seção de recuperação de calor. As seções de combustão e recuperação de calor têm paredes externas que são contínuas uma com relação à outra para formar um alojamento que é preferivelmente cilíndrico. O alojamento tem um diâmetro interno menor do que cerca de 25,4 cm, ou alternativamente, tem um comprimento e um diâmetro em uma relação de entre cerca de 7:1 e cerca de 4:1.
