Abstract

"ELEMENTO DE LIBERAçãO DE DOSAGEM CONTROLADA, E, MéTODOS PARA A LIBERAçãO DE PELO MENOS UM PRIMEIRO AGENTE ATIVO PARA DENTRO DO RúMEN DE UM ANIMAL RUMINANTE, PARA O TRATAMENTO, A PROFILAXIA OU AMBOS DE UM ESTADO INFESTADO OU DOENTIO EM UM ANIMAL RUMINANTE E PARA A ALTERAçãO DO ESTADO FISIOLóGICO DE UM ANIMAL RUMINANTE". A presente invenção refere-se a um elemento de liberação de dosagem controlada adaptado para ser inserido e retido dentro do rúmen de um animal ruminante. O elemento compreende: a) uma ou mais quantidades predeterminadas e distintas de pelo menos uma primeira formulação compreendendo pelo menos um primeiro agente ativo, a formulação estando adaptada para se dissolver nos fluidos do rúmen em uma velocidade tal que a dissolução de cada uma de uma ou mais quantidades de primeira formulação proporciona um episódio pulsado ou curto de liberação do primeiro agente ativo para dentro do rúmen; b) uma ou mais quantidades predeterminadas de pelo menos uma segunda formulação adaptada para se dissolver em uma velocidade controlada nos fluidos do rúmen; sendo que as uma ou mais quantidades de primeira formulação são proporcionadas em uma ou mais localizações predeterminadas dentro do elemento em relação às citadas uma ou mais quantidades de segunda formulação para uma ou mais liberações retardadas de pelo menos o primeiro agente ativo para dentro do rúmen em tempos predeterminados antes, durante, após, ou em qualquer combinação dos mesmos, de um período de tempo estendido predeterminado definido pela citada segunda formulação. A invenção também se refere a um método para a liberação de pelo menos um primeiro agente ativo no rúmen de um animal ruminante em uma maneira retardada em um ou mais tempos predeterminados após a administração ao animal de uma composição contendo o agente ativo, o método compreendendo a administração ao animal de um elemento de liberação de dosagem controlada de acordo com a invenção. O primeiro agente ativo tipicamente será para o tratamento, a profilaxia ou ambos de um estado infestado ou doentio em um animal ruminante, ou para a alteração do estado fisiológico de um animal ruminante.
