  Method for soldering aluminum.

The present invention relates to a method for soldering aluminum using a tin-zinc alloy as solder, by means of which an intimate connection of the soldered aluminum pieces is produced and therefore great strength of the soldered joints is ensured.

The aluminum solder used according to the present invention is composed of 9 parts by weight of pure tin and 4 parts by weight of pure zinc. These two components are brought into the molten state and mixed with one another until the whole mass has a uniform appearance.

After cooling and corresponding shaping, the solder produced in this way is ready for use.
 EMI1.1
The aluminum pieces to be soldered are heated at the soldering points and the alloy of 9 parts by weight of pure tin and 4 parts by weight of pure zinc is applied to the heated soldering points and, when this has alloyed with the aluminum, the soldering point with a hot, tin or an alloy of tin and Ulei bearing soldering iron aftertreated respectively. is run over.

It is of course to be taken into account that the aluminum pieces to be connected maintain the temperature that is necessary for the soldering compound to attack them.

The aluminum parts connected in this way offer greater resistance to tearing at the soldering point than the material itself. Another advantage of the new soldering process is its cheapness.
