Abstract
Una película de polietileno que tiene una relacion entre la resistencia en una primera direccion en el plano de la película y la resistencia en una segunda direccion en el plano de la película perpendicular a la primera direccion en el rango de 0,1-10:1, donde la resistencia en al menos una direccion en el plano de la película es de al menos 0,2 GPa, donde el polietileno tiene un peso molecular promedio en peso de al menos 500.000 gramos/mol y una relacion de Mw/Mn de, como máximo, 6. Un proceso para fabricar tal película, donde se somete un polímero inicial UHMWPE con un peso molecular promedio en peso de al menos 500.000 gramos/mol, un modulo elástico de cizalladura determinado directamente después de la fusion a 160°C de, como máximo, 1,4 MPa, y una relacion de Mw/Mn de, como máximo, 6 a un proceso de compactacion libre de solventes y a un proceso de estiramiento bajo condiciones tales que en ningun punto durante el proceso la temperatura de la película polimérica intermedia se eleva a un valor superior a su punto de fusion, donde en el proceso de estiramiento se aplica una fuerza sobre la película polimérica intermedia en una primera direccion y en una segunda direccion que es perpendicular a la primera direccion.
