Abstract

Un copolímero de poli(etilen tereftalato) que contiene porciones 1,4-ciclohexanodimetanol (CHDM) y porciones ácido isoftálico copolimerizadas. Estecopolímero tiene mejores propiedades de barrera al oxígeno y al dioxido de carbono que el homopolímerode PET o que los copolímeros de CHDM y PET modificado.Dicho copolímero es util para aplicaciones de envasado (tales como botellas para bebidas carbonatadas no alcoholicas) que requieren propiedades de barrera aloxígeno y al dioxido de carbono por lomenos tan buenas o mejores que las del homopolímero de PET. Además, se dan a conocer un envase y una película formados apartir de dicho copolímero.
