Over the years, it is believed that family planning programs through promoting the use of contraceptives have played an important role in reducing fertility and its negative effects on health and development. Despite the steady increase in the CPR (34%), The Uganda Demographic and Health Survey (UBOS and ICF, 2017) progress report shows that the unmet need for contraception in Uganda is at 28.4% (CF, 2016) indicating that not all women who want to avoid getting pregnant use modern and effective contraceptive methods. The main objective of the study is to find out the community and individual factors influencing modern contraceptive use among women of reproductive age (15-49) in central Uganda. Data was analyzed using SPSS Analysis tool and analysis was done at these levels namely; Univariate and Bivariate Analysis and multivariate. At the Univariate level, simple descriptive statistics of the respondents were done. The largest proportion of respondents (52.0 percent) were from rural areas and only 48.0 percent were urban dwellers. The percentage of women who ever used contraceptives varied significantly P=0.001 by wealth status of the respondents. It was highest (66.4 percent) among rich households, 65.6 percent middle then 58.8 percent among poor households. However, differentials by region (P=0.088), use of the internet (P=0.701) and the number of unions (P=0.493) insignificantly varied with the ever use of contraceptive. This study focused on women of reproductive ages in Central Uganda. The majority were between 20-24 years and constituted of 23 percent. Most of the respondents were Catholics 34.9%, had attained primary education (43.1%) and were either married or living together (54.8%). Women empowerment is one of the most important measures that can be investigated to increase contraceptive use among women. This can be done through promoting girl child education.

The Delphi design falls under the general category of “consensus development techniques,” which in turn are under the general grouping of action research approaches (Vernon, 2009). Consensus techniques are typically applicable when there is limited evidence or when the existing evidence is contradictory in the specific topic of interest. Delphi itself is uniquely applicable in areas where there is little prior research or where advantage could be realized in the collective subjective judgment of experts (Hejblum et al., 2008).

The project study examined the Online Catalogue for effective serials management at the Office of the Prime Minister. The project aimed at designing an Online Catalogue for effective serials management at the Office of the Prime Minister.
The study used a case study research design while adopting qualitative research approach. Data collection methods included: unstructured Questionnaire and interviews, participant observation and document reviews to collect data on access and use of electronic resources.
The study used a sample size of 50 who included: Thirty five (35) library users and ten (10) library staff. Data was analyzed using Microsoft Excel software.

The findings of the study revealed that: there were various services offered by the resource center including electronic resources but they are not maximally utilized by the library users. Further, Books are most preferred electronic resources and patrons are highly comfortable with them. It was also found out that the benefits of using electronic resources outweighed the challenges. Identified challenges in the management of serials management of resources, included: limited user education, computer illiteracy and limited skills among the library staff.

The study therefore concludes: in order to maximally utilize the available resources at Office of the Prime minister, a catalogue was important. This would minimize on the number of challenges currently faced, hence optimum utilization of the available resources.
The study recommends adoption of the designed an online catalogue. Other recommendations include: Continuous user education programs which should be carried out by the administration of the library since the library users range from beneficiaries, potential and actual users of the resources so as to equip each type of user with the necessary skills for accessing and utilizing of the library’s electronic resources to their full potential.

The higher education sector is facing several challenges. The challenges include reduced government funding, increased accountability from various stakeholders, diverse students, changes brought by the pandemic, and the increasing introduction of new digital learning technologies.  In order to make better decisions to tackle these challenges, those in the decision-making should use data and analytics to answer some of the difficult or complex questions that the higher education sector is facing. Therefore, the goal of this report is to explore different ways and/or techniques that can be used to address some of these challenges that higher institutions of education are facing. The decision-makers in higher education need to know the conception of big data to explore how big data and analytics can be applied in higher education.
Furthermore, the understanding of the current systems and applications used in supporting the idea of big data and analytics in higher education. Achieving these insights and information from data requires not a single report from a single system but rather the ability to access, harvest, link, share, and explore institution-wide data that can be transformed into meaningful insights. The utilisation of Big Data and analytics offer opportunities to support students, faculty, senior leadership to use evidence in making sound decisions. The study employs a systematic review using a newly developed tripartite model for conducting and presenting literature review reports. The model approaches the literature review process systematically and three phases for the critical examination of literature: These phases include; description, synthesis, and critique. The current review focuses on the use of big data and analytics in higher institutions. Relevant articles published between 2012-2021 were obtained from the Scopus, IEEE, Google Scholars, and Web of Science databases.  Three core themes were identified: Lack of data or evidenced-based decision making, Lack of expertise in data mining and management, Lack of involvement of stakeholders-communities as they know which areas need to be focused on and improved. The review examines contextual variation and modalities of applying big data and analytics and the challenges and opportunities. It should be noted that using multiple datasets and different methodological approaches can provide further insights into decision makers-management staff of higher education to engage in data-based decision making. This approach to measuring big data and analytics, opportunities, and challenges in higher education can authenticate findings and most likely provide additional insights into big data analytics in the area of higher education.

A quarry is a type of open-pit mine in which dimension stone, rock, construction aggregate, riprap, sand, gravel, or slate is excavated from the ground. Quarrying is a huge supporter of local economic development as using the extracted material, this enhancing trade, creating jobs for people annually, creating new habitats from initially inaccessible lands, sometimes new roads are built, first to transport the machines and then extracted material which are then left to be used by residents (MEMD, 2003). The operation of quarries is regulated in some jurisdictions to reduce their environmental impact. According to MEMD (2003), most of the Ugandans are practicing stone quarrying on a small scale for many years. But it has intensified in magnitude in the recent past due to the construction boom taking place in the country especially in urban areas, particularly Kampala city and other recently appointed cities by the parliament of Uganda.
Uganda is divided into 4 regions that is the Eastern, Western, Northern and the central region. And each region has been blessed with at least not less 50 stone quarrying points. Consequently millions of tonnes of stones are being removed from stone deposits on land from the different stones may not seem what they are but in-depth studies could help understand there worth.

A Current Awareness Service system is considered as communication tool, which help to create and publish the information regarding its activities, reflects its virtual public face, acting as a front door to the collections, services, and, to an extent, its staff.  The aim of the Current Awareness Service system is to serve as a guide to the library resources and services. Current Awareness Service systems provide information about libraries and library services as well as access to online catalogues, electronic databases, digital collections and different library tutorials. The aim of this project was to design a Current Awareness Service System, test it and recommend for implementation. The objectives that guided the study were to:
A case study research design was used while adopting both qualitative and quantitative research approaches. The data collection methods included: interviews, questionnaires and document review. Sample size was forty-four (44) and this included: nine (9) library staff and thirty-five (35) library users (students) from which data was collected.
Major findings were: RIBE library mostly uses the traditional means of communication to disseminate library services to its users which seem difficult to reach to a wide variety of users as it serves students from universities offering law and the legal fraternity including advocates, judges, magistrates, scholars/researchers, government officials and also attracts a lot of foreign visitors. The findings further revealed that the current means of communication are limited hoping that the proposed Current Awareness Service system would provide room for social media communication channels like face book, twitter, YouTube, Google plus among others to supplement on the current communication channels.
The study therefore recommends the library management to adopt and implement the designed Current Awareness Service System so that it can be hosted by Web hosting Company that has 24-hour server running and obtaining domain name, this will enable full time accessibility of the website. Further, the study recommends that, for the proposed system to effectively serve the RIBE community, the library staff should be trained and acquire newer skills that can enable them to work with new technologies and that will enable them to ensure up to datedness of the website and interaction with the library social media sites like Facebook, twitter, YouTube, Google+ among others. The library staffs need to train library users on how to utilize the system.
