Smaller broadband providers increased their market share in the NBN wholesale market in the June quarter 2022, and a record number of telcos now have their networks connected to the NBN at all of the available physical locations, according to a new report by the competition regulator, the ACCC.

Consumers on NBN fixed-line connections experienced strong speed performance in December last year, with retail service providers achieving between 85.0 and 98.9% of
maximum plan speeds across all fixed-line plans in the busy evening hours of 7-11pm in December 2020, according to the latest Measuring Broadband Australia report from the competition regulator, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

NBN Co starts rollout of Disaster Satellite Service

National broadband network operator NBN Co has unveiled the first NBN Disaster Satellite Service in Namadgi ACT, designed to boost the support offered to communities and emergency services personnel during and in the aftermath of emergency events, such as bushfires and floods.

NBN Co boosts first quarter revenue, earnings

The operator of the national broadband network, NBN Co, is trumpeting strong momentum and earnings growth, recording quarterly earnings of $102 million in the three months ending September 2020, compared to a loss of $435 million in Q1 FY2020 – and with total revenue of $1.07 billion for three months, up 22% on the corresponding quarter last year.
