The competition watchdog, the ACCC, has recommenced its inquiry which is considering a proposal from National Broadband Network operator, NBN Co, that aims to address concerns about service standards for wholesale NBN products and the pricing of entry-level NBN services.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has announced a pause on its inquiries examining both NBN entry-level access pricing and wholesale service standards, to allow the communications sector to focus on its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Labor’s Shadow Minister for Communications, Michelle Rowland, is keeping up the political pressure on the Government over the NBN ahead of this weekend’s Bennalong by-election, and in the wake of an announcement by NBN Co, operators of the National Broadband Network, that it is planning to slash wholesale prices of its services to retailers.
