Tujuan penelitian ini untuk (1) mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Mathlaul Anwar Banten terhadap pendidikan karakter dalam pelaksanaan visi FKIP Unma Banten, (2) mengetahui strategi penerapan visi FKIP Unma Banten, (3) mengetahui perilaku mahasiswa sebagai proses dan hasil penerapan visi FKIP Unma Banten tersebut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di FKIP UNMA Banten pada bulan Juli sampai September 2013. Penelitian menggunakan metode pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data berasal dari mahasiswa, dosen dan pimpinan FKIP Unma Banten. Teknik pengambilan responden yang digunakan yaitu teknik purposive sampling. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi langsung, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Pemahaman responden mengenai penjabaran visi unggul dan berakhlakul karimah sangat beragam. Namun disepakati sebagai kriteria ideal dan normatif dalam kepribadian pendidik, yang diharapkan dimiliki oleh mahasiswa FKIP sebagai calon guru. Penjabaran visi unggul dan berakhlakulkarimah berarti keseimbangan antara IQ, EQ, dan SQ yang diaplikasikan dalam pemikiran, sikap,maupun perilaku keseharian yang mengarah pada perubahan positif bagi dirinya dan orang lain atau masyarakat.(2) Untuk membentuk calon pendidik yang unggul dan ber-akhlakul karimah, pendidikan karakter dilaksanakan secara bertahap melalui kurikulum, program dan kebijakan, pembentukan lingkungan yang sehat dan kondusif, keteladanan serta pengawasan. Pendidikan karakter walau bukan suatu mata kuliah khusus, tetapi harus terintegrasi dalam kurikulum dan pengajaran, dalam aplikasinya dibutuhkan figur dosen sebagai teladan bagi mahasiswa. (3) Pendidikan karakter islami (akhlakul karimah) dalam segi fisik sudah dijalankan, seperti diatur melalui kebijakan berpakaian, tetapi pendidikan karakter juga terhambat karena perilaku non-edukatif seperti membuang sampah sembarangan, kecurangan mahasiswa dalam ujian dan tugas yang dianggap wajar, gratifikasi kepada dosen maupun staf demi mendapat nilai yang diinginkan mahasiswa, perilaku vandalisme, sampai plagiarisme. FKIP belum menetapkan kriteria resmi evaluasi pendidikan karakter, sehingga penilaian keberhasilan hanya sampai pada pengamatan individual. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali fakta-fakta kondisi damai yang dialami para siswa dalam lingkungan sekolah berbasis pesantren, baik positif maupun negatif dan mengungkapkan mentalitas mereka dihadapkan dengan peraturan sekolah. Penelitian dilakukan di Madrasah Aliyah (Mualimin) Pesantren Persatuan Islam (PPI) 76 Tarogong Garut. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode naratif berdasarkan data-data yang dikumpulkan dengan teknik kuesioner, wawancara, dan studi literatur yang menggunakan analisis interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sinergitas peraturan sekolah, muatan kurikulum, para pendidik, sarana dan prasarana, serta elemen internal lain dari sekolah berbasis pesantren tersebut membangun satu keutuhan kondisi atmosfer kehidupan sarat damai yang cukup signifi kan bagi para siswa, baik individual maupun komunal. Salah satu pendekatan dalam melakukan bimbingan kelompok adalah dengan menggunakan mentoring halaqah, yaitu pola kegiatan bimbingan kelompok dengan menggunakan tahap-tahap pelaksanaan kegiatan mentoring halaqah. The emphasizing of its significance is laid on God’s order of its obligation that always associated with the obligation of Tawhid (monotheistic as a primary beliefs in Islam). Islamic teaching has arranged an integrated rule then create Islamic tradition where consist birr-ul-walidayn inside by exampling of some the best and historical parents noted by Quran included some prophets that contained some values of harmonious relationship between parent and children, quality education and guidance for children and also filial piety. On the contrary, flaws or unfinished task of family and parents on the process will make some hindrances or problems in the family and also in the society in many aspect. This study was aimed at eliciting facts of peaceful conditions experienced by students in the environment of Pesantren-based schools, positively and negatively, and revealing the students’ mentality in the face of the school rules. The study was done in Madrasah Aliyah (Mualimin) Pesantren Persatuan Islam (PPI) 76 Tarogong, Garut. The study used the narrative method based on the data collected by questionnaires, interviews, observation, and literature study using interactive analyses. Findings show that the synergy of school rules, curriculum contents, teachers, facilities and infrastructures, and other internal elements of the pesantren-based school actualized a unified peaceful life atmosphere which is significant for students, individually or communally. Challenges will be constantly confronted by counselors as a result of the changes taking place. Changes in the work environment of counselors force them to be creative. Counselors should be able to find solutions, find new ways and adapt to changes that occur. So, on the process of education of potential counselors in Indonesia should also encourage the creativity of counselors in the realm of their scope of work. Such efforts need to be integrated with the counselor education curriculum. The aim of this study is a description of counselor characters obtained from the values of Sanghyang Siksakandang Karesian (SSK) manuscript. Qualitative approach was used in which the data, analysis, and interpretation conformed to the principles of hermeneutics. As a method, hermeneutics was employed to interpret the text meaning within the SSK. The research procedure comprised: 1) selection of texts source, 2) dialogic process involving negotiation and re-negotiation of texts interpretation until the full understanding of the texts was gained, and 3) concept writing. The aim of this study is to identify the characteristics of peaceful personality of adolescent Santri (Islamic students) and their peaceful environment. The subjects of the study are 57 respondents taken from two classes (both male and female classes) of the 11th grade in Madrasah Aliyah (Mualimin) Pesantren Persis 19 Bentar Garut, academic year 2015-2016. Quantitative research was used where the data was analyzed descriptive and correlational statistics. The result of the study showed that average achievement of peaceful personality is considered high in the aspects of intrapersonal and interpersonal peaceful personality. The number of Santri’s perceptions on the condition of Pesantren’s (Islamic school) peaceful environment is also considered high. The factor of the environmental condition in Pesantren and home, according to the result of study, significantly influences the peaceful personality of adolescent Santri.

The aim of this study is to uncover and gain some factual data about locus of control (LOC) ability to overcome depression in late adolescence. This study was conducted through survey methods on new under-graduate students aged 18 to 21 years old from English Education program in Mathla’ul Anwar University of Banten at first semester of academic year 2015-2016. The result of study showed that majority of the students has internal LOC. The sudents who have external LOC tend to get more depressed than those who pose internal LOC. The numbers of women who get depressed are more than men. The finding also showed positive influence of reading book in gaining capacity of LOC. Depression can be avoided and prevented by spiritual and mental strengthening, such as being closer to God, spending quality time with parents, siblings and friends, doing some new hobbies and activities, getting involved in fun daily activities, and trying to identify sense of fear of being rejected or guilty feelings.

The aims of this study was to find the ideal personal values of the counselor based on the isen mulang philosophy of the Dayak tribe. The research method used is qualitative where researchers act as key instruments, data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation studies. The results of the study are that the isen mulang philosophy contains four main values, namely the value of struggle, the value of heroism, the value of sacrifice, and the value of spirit never giving up. The four elements of the isen mulang values are implemented by counselors in everyday life to form an ideal personal competence of the counselor.

This study aims to formulate the issue of the human person contained in the Sanghyang Siksakandang Karesian manuscript as one of the local cultural wisdom, to produce a formulation of a human person for the enrichment and development of education. Efforts to uncover and formulate a human person in the SSK manuscript require the power of interpretation, so the right method is done using hermeneuticsphenomenology. Human person (or human nature) in this study contains three aspects which are personal aspects, uniqueness, and self-identity. The human person in Sanghyang Siksakandang Karesian manuscript includes personal of “soil” and “water”, self-uniqueness of bayu-sabda-hedap, and catur-yogya self-identity. All of them are the basis for authenticity growth, which contributes to the development of education, especially in Indonesia.

Uyeh Balukiya Syakir Syuja’i atau biasa dipanggil oleh kalangan santri dan masyarakat sebagai Mama Uyeh lahir di Kampung Nenon Desa Sukawening Kecamatan Ciwidey Kabupaten Bandung pada tanggal 22 Maret tahun 1926. Mama Uyeh merupakan salah satu tokoh Mathla'ul Anwar, beliau tercatat sebagai salah satu Tim Perumus Khittah Mathla’ul Anwar pada tahun 1995. Dakwah Mama Uyeh banyak mempengaruhi kondisi  sosial keagamaan masyarakat di daerah  Soreang dan sekitarnya.
