The aim of this original contribution is to present the procedures and process initiated
by some municipalities in inland areas for the inclusion of an ancient rural tradition, practiced in south-central Italy—the “Tracing of the straight furrow”—in the “National Register of Rural Landscapes of Historic Interest, Agricultural Practices and Traditional Knowledge”. The registry proposes to identify and catalog in a database the rural landscapes, practices and knowledge worthy of importance to safeguard their integrity and vulnerability. The article describes the research activity that was implemented to record the practice, and also wants to show that the standard procedure prepared by the Ministry cannot consist only of desk analysis (data collection, and preparation of the required dossier). Indeed, there is a need to initiate a process that, starting with the proposing institutions, involves local actors and communities who are familiar with traditional places and practices. Citizen participation in this decision-making process that implements the area’s tourism-cultural development policies is also essential to consolidate intra-generational and local relationships: desk analysis is thus enriched by field analysis. This makes it possible to highlight problems/potentialities and help in the selection of contextualized solutions to encourage adherence to initiatives especially after recognition of traditional practice in the National Register.

The aim of this paper is to show the urban transformations of Avellino since 1800, through a reading of bibliographic, cartographic and iconographic history resources preserved at the Provincial Libraries of Avellino and Naples and the Municipal Planning Archives of Avellino, and the maps attached to the first and most recent planning tools, now supported by new digital technologies, available in the archives of the offices of City Planning of the municipality of Avellino. The study explores the demographic dynamics and urbanization that for more than a century are affecting Avellino: these dynamics concern the new forms of living in increasingly modern city, and now, overcoming the dichotomy center-periphery and the logic of interpretation based on the relationship between town and country, configure a new urban form of Avellino, a conurbation, in a process of growth and fusion with neighboring municipalities.

The territorial cohesion is today the main European policy through which to reduce the economic-social, environmental and cultural imbalances between European regions, as well as a "tool" to measure, on the basis of geographic diversity, the level of cohesion achieved in terms of territorial impact assessment of the policies. The present paper, result of the second year of research of the PRIN 2015- Territorial Impact Assessment of the territorial cohesion of the Italian regions, aims to spread the results of the measure of territorial cohesion in the Campania Region in terms of Smart, Sustainable and Inclusive Growth (Europe 2020 Strategy), through the application of the innovative STeMA-TIA methodology to the regional system. The reading that the analysis returns, starting from the strategic objectives defined in the regional programming 2014-2020, shows a widespread weakness in the level of territorial cohesion reached (NUTS 2 and NUTS 3), but also suggests the most app...

The Covid-19 emergency and the repositioning of tourism in the internal areas: first reflections on Irpinia. – The Covid-19 emergency, with lockdown, travel restrictions, fear of contagion, need for distancing, have changed the times and ways of taking holidays. This work aims to be a moment of reflection on territorial and tourism policies implemented as a response to the pandemic in for internal area. Through a focus on Irpinia, it wants to understand how much these investment opportunities are capable of transforming in lasting impacts for local communities, with propulsive and sustainable effects over time, and if they are able to support the trend of proximity tourism and to encourage a social and economic recovery of notably weak areas.

The migrations of the new millennium are economic, but also social and political migrations. In Italy this phenomenon has taken on a significant dimension, both for the number of migrants who land on the coasts and for the territories affected by the emergency. Today, it is not possible to handle the emergency in landing areas; local institutions and communities are directly involved in the reception of refugees and asylum seekers. This article is the result of a research on the reception model of asylum seekers and refugees in Irpinia, a territory of South Italy that has been facing for 4-5 years the problem of hospitality, with difficulties and social instability, but which, in some cases, has produced examples of excellence. The research deepens the possible correlations between the local reception model (SPRAR and CAS) and the territorial networks involved; but also wants to check whether the presence of a permanent territorial organization, stimulates the reception, responds to...

"The tourism of the new millennium is in a phase of deep evolution: the anthropological-cultural changes of the modern society and the processes of globalization have determined a modification in the consumption patterns of the individuals and have generated a new way of thinking about the holiday, not only leisure and relaxation, but experience of life and personal enrichment under the social, cultural and environmental profile. Hence an evolution of the demand towards new forms of tourism and a tourist with a decision-making process more selective, looking for the elsewhere, the other self, a direct relationship with the places visited, the territory and its historical memory, its culture and its atmosphere. From these deep changes comes the need to know, manage and plan the development of tourism of what are considered in recent years “new tourism”: tourism forms and segmentation “innovative” in the motivations, in attractions, in forms of hospitality, in ways of using and promoting. To these correspond to new areas of tourism competitiveness in the regional contexts and new policies and management tools and planning for future development. Definitely falls into the category of “new tourism” rural tourism. The rural landscapes with their resources (natural, historical, cultural, eno-gastronomic, crafts, etc..), their characters (relationally, quality of life, health, amenity, welfare, etc..) and their physical proximity to urban systems medium and large sizes are more ideal spaces of consumption of “new tourism”, which is centre to the rural tourism and the other forms of tourism in rural areas. Rural tourism is not only located in rural countryside but it is functionally rural (Lane 1994), in the sense that finds its roots in the environment and landscape, agriculture and in its typical and traditional products, and is constructed from economic activities of small - very small businesses in a process of constant interaction with local communities. In fact, it interested mostly different destination from the classical and not included in the traditional circuit of tourist consumption. Rural tourism has, therefore, some characters different from other forms of tourism: i) it is an endogenous tourism as it is based on primary sources and not artificial, it is a tourism with a strong anthropological connotation as it meets needs of sharing culture and lifestyles of the communities visited, it is a complementary tourism because is rich in content that are inter-connected and integrated, it is a small-scale tourism, it is a form of sustainable tourism and responsible and, above all, is an opportunity for competitive development of areas that until now have remained on the margins of the processes of regional development. Considering the new reasons for tourism consumption and the opportunities for tourism development that may result from these, particularly in the rural areas, this paper is uncertain, first, whether there is an its form of rural tourism, or if it goes necessarily declined in all possible configurations tourist attractions with which it shares space, resources, structures, policies, actors (wine tourism, green tourism, wine tourism, etc..). The research is therefore aimed at giving a contribution to knowledge about the characters and the size of rural tourism and tourism development in rural areas through the analysis process touristicization the inland areas of Campania. The system of inner areas of Campania, in fact, although deprives “great attractors” that can handle large flows of tourists, presents a clear widespread and open rural aspects that it finds in its natural-environmental, historical and cultural and in his typically a series of “micro-attractors” capable of responding to a demand for rural and plural tourism. In particular, we will study some success stories: the experience of Borgo Antico di Castelvetere sul Calore and the combination of “typicality - tourism development" in the rural area of Taurasi (province of Avellino). The diffusion and easy access to geographic and computer equipment has revolutionized not only the models of communication, but also the techniques of production and diffusion of geographic information, combining more and more objective dimension of knowledge with that subjective and perceptive. At the same time, through the Virtual globe (Google Earth, GPS, etc.) or the so-called Volunteered Geographic Information (Wikimapia, Open street map, Google My Maps, etc.) also the spatial dimension of knowledge has found new life in the world of digital communication and Web 2.0. This paper, therefore, part from the theoretical constructs object of the Cybergeography [22], of the Geographical information science [29; 6] or of what many call " Neogeography " or " Geography from below " [44], focusing on new dynamics of interaction between technologies, territories and communities in tourism, or on how the tourist information-which is the basis of the image and attractiveness of a tourist place, and therefore of competitiveness-born more and more by the interaction between the territory and the community in the age of digital communications and social networks. The literature review on issues specifically dealt with, will be accompanied by the presentation of some experiences of Virtual Community particularly significant as a form of representation and self-representation of local tourist systems through a Tourism 2.0.

Abstract The objective of the paper is to make a reflection on the relationship between cinema, creativity and practical tourism in the processes of development and promotion of cinetourism which affect, in particular, the minor destinations. To this end, the experience of Irpinia is presented, where the authenticity of the places and the aspirations of a few enlightened by love for the " Seventh Art " has, since the early twentieth century, inspired several film projects, mixing suggestions real with virtual effects film, have proposed a transposition of the culture and customs, traditions and ways of life of Irpinia. A combination between the cinema and Irpinia which transforms Avellino, at the time one of the poorest and remotest provincial of Italy, the world capital of cinema neorealist; able to influence actively on backwardness typical of southern reality.

Abstract-The recent Aiom report on "State of Oncology in Italy 2017", declining numbers and characteristics of a constantly growing phenomenon, has focused on the importance of prevention: it has showed that in the South of Italy there are more daedly cases of cancer because are still uncommon. At the same time, there are many Italian Regions that introduce district health policies aimed at reducing distances between patients and sanitary services, reassessing the role of assistance outside the hospitals. The National Health System and the local health authorities are still lacking in the implementation of district health policies that can reduce the distance between citizens and oncological pre
