IKEA: number of traditional stores worldwide 2025
As of October 2025, there were a total of 494 IKEA stores worldwide. A year before that, the number of stores was 480. In the financial year of 2025, the global revenue generated by the IKEA Group amounted to roughly 44.6 billion euros.
IKEA as an international success
IKEA has been growing rapidly since its founding in 1943 and is the world’s largest furniture retailer today, known for its Scandinavian style and flat-pack furniture. The furniture retailer is well-established on every continent in the world, with more than half of the total being in Europe. In 2024, 288 stores were registered throughout the continent.
IKEA as a brand
As of 2025, IKEA was ranked the sixth most valuable retailer in the world, valued at around 338 billion U.S. dollars. With its low prices and large product range, the company was widely recognized by customers when they were shown both the brand’s logo and the written brand name. According to a survey conducted in 2024, nearly 86 percent of U.S. consumers knew the brand and almost one in two shared that they like IKEA and its products.
