1.

As we discussed in previous units, the fifth element of the PERMA well-being model is
Accomplishment. Increasing accomplishment – which encompasses achievement, competence,
success in achieving goals and mastery at the highest possible level – enhances our personal
well-being. As you think about what you want in life and are setting goals, it may be helpful to
complete the questions below to affirm recent accomplishments, identify those activities that
give you a sense of accomplishment, and what you can do to increase the feeling of
accomplishment in your life.

a. Which activities have you done recently that contributed to your sense of accomplishment?

In reflecting on my recent activities, several experiences stand out that have significantly
contributed to my sense of accomplishment. One of the most notable was completing a
challenging Project for my Research Studies. This project required extensive research,
collaboration with teammates, and the application of various hypothesis etc. Successfully
presenting my findings not only boosted my confidence but also reinforced my belief in my
academic abilities.

b. What activities do you do daily that give you a sense of accomplishment?

As a daily activity, one of the most significant activity that enhanced my sense of
accomplishment was setting personal fitness goals. I committed to a regular exercise routine,
aiming to improve my physical health and endurance. By tracking my progress and gradually
increasing the intensity of my workouts, I achieved milestones that made me feel proud of my
dedication and hard work. This experience taught me the importance of setting realistic goals
and celebrating small victories along the way.

c. List below at least five things that you can begin doing or do more of to increase the feeling of
accomplishment in your life:

1. Set clear and achievable goals: By defining specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and
time-bound (SMART) goals, you can create a roadmap for your accomplishments and track
your progress effectively.

2. Develop a daily routine: Establishing a consistent daily routine can help you prioritize tasks,
manage your time better, and create a sense of order, leading to a greater feeling of
accomplishment as you complete daily activities.

3. Practice gratitude: Taking time each day to reflect on what you are grateful for can
enhance your overall sense of well-being and accomplishment, as it helps you recognize
and appreciate your achievements, both big and small.

4. Engage in lifelong learning: Continuously seeking new knowledge or skills can foster a
sense of accomplishment as you expand your capabilities and open up new opportunities
for personal and professional growth.

5. Celebrate small wins: Acknowledging and celebrating even the smallest achievements can
boost your motivation and reinforce a sense of accomplishment, making it easier to tackle
larger goals in the future.

2. Below are at least four goals I am setting for myself, that I intend to accomplish within the
next 90 days. (Take the time to think about what you want to accomplish in this time frame in
relation to your education, your professional preparation and to increase the feeling of
accomplishment in your life. Also, take time to revisit areas you identified in the Setting
Expectations and Affirmation units that you may want to improve in other aspects of your well-
being and your life “balance wheel”.)
