Generalized Definition Of Personal Freedom
Personal Freedom
To pinpoint exactly what a generalized definition of personal freedom is and how to ensure it
may almost seem impossible . To me it is the human capability of expressing rational or irrational
daily decisions. Simple and can be very innocent ,but as innocent as it can be it is also subject to
some of the most, ruthless , selfish, heartless decisions. But no matter the choices and decisions one
would make, they will carry a weight of consequences, good or bad. Anarchy with no hierarchy
would without a doubt ensure what is needed to obtain one s personal freedom, along with the
freedom to steer consequences into one s favor.
The concept surrounding Anarchy , a non existent government with no laws , no justice systems , no
sense of security through others . A person s life choices rests solely ... Show more content on

But today s society as well a newer more accepted definitions for Anarchy is : a state of disorder
due to absence or nonrecognition of authority, this as well coming from the google dictionary.
Taking a deeper thought into the first definition written in this paragraph; it states anarchy being
the absolute freedom of the individual. the answer is written there in the simplest of words. To
the ones who are searching for the answer need look no more , anarchy is the only way to find
one s true personal freedom your goal is to In a state of anarchy there could be concerns and
arguments to keep one from believing this is the only way to restasure you will gain personal
freedom. Like definition number 2, briefly describes a place or community full of disorder only due
to no structural hierarchy , We as humans are born with a will of our own. No human can physically
control mind of another to not think for their self. This idea is commonly called free will . Which this

Athena Goddess Of War
Athena, or Athene, is the Goddess of Wisdom and War ( Athena ). Known for her grace and mercy,
all the other gods highly respected her (Pontikis). Although she is the goddess of war, her true
personality might be a surprise.
Athena s Roman name is Minerva, and the two are very similar (L. Roman and M. Roman 90).
Athena actually does not like fighting at all, but instead enjoys the strategy involved in battle
(Pontikis). This goddess is not only in charge of war, but rules over outdoor activities and chores
done inside the house like weaving, spinning, and cooking (Pontikis). She rules over the city of
Athens, which was rewarded to her because she helped the people by planting the olive tree (L.
Roman and M. Roman 91). Also, her most important temple is called the Parthenon ( Athena ).
Athena can always be found with her helmet and spear, making her one of the easiest goddesses
to identify (Pontikis). Athena is also easy to spot because of her special shield. On her shield is
Medusa s head, which Perseus had given to her (L. Roman and M. Roman 91). She hardly uses her
spear however, because she likes to handle things in a peaceful manner (Pontikis). Surprisingly,
Athena has a manly figure with broad shoulders (Pontikis). Her ... Show more content on

One of those battles was defeating Typhon, the most feared and dangerous monster in existence.
Long ago, Typhon decided to try and take over Mount Olympus, the home of all the gods and
goddesses. When he arrived, all the gods hid among the mortals, taking the shape of various
animals. Well, all but Athena. She stood her ground. She was not going to let someone, or
something, take her home away. Her father, Zeus, saw her facing the beast, and he decided that he
didn t want his daughter doing his job for him. His job was to protect his people, so that s what he
did. Gathering the courage and stepping up, he was able to defeat Typhon, and all the gods were
able to return home safely
What Was The Causes Of The Anglo-Boer War
The Anglo Boer War remains the most terrible and destructive armed conflict in the history of
South Africa. It shaped the history of South Africa in the 20th Century and therefore left a legacy
marking the end of the long process of British conquest of South African societies. Conflicting
political ideologies of imperialism and republicanism, including the tension between the political
leaders, like the Boer leader Paul Kruger and the British leader, Cecil Rhodes. These were some of
the causes of the war. The discovery of diamonds in Johannesburg and gold on the Witwatersrand
also pricked the British interest in South Africa, especially after the Global Financial Panic of 1873.

This angered the British and seized their lands. In 1881 the influential Boer leaders felt that they
had had enough of being British Afrikaners concluding that meetings and protests were useless
triggering the First Anglo Boer in 1880 1881. This was a classic underdog rebellion in which Boer
commandos ambushed British forces, and was conducted across forbidding distances along barely
navigable terrain (Nasson, 2006). But this was the advantage of the Boers as they knew the Terrain
better that the British and also knew how to use gun power better because of their many years of
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and Yann Martel’s Life of Pi
There comes a time in point of life when you re stuck in a hiccup and you have to do whatever it
takes to overcome the obstacles. In the Life of Pi, Pi undergoes many obstacles and he has to test
the five levels of Maslow s hierarchy of needs to be able to survive. Maslow s hierarchy of needs
consists of five levels such as: Physiological, Safety, Love, Esteem, and Self Actualization. Does Pi
have what it takes to overcome these obstacles by using the five levels of hierarchy? Life of Pi by
Yann Martel, tells a story about a survivor on a life boat with a dead Zebra, Hyena, Orangutan and a
tiger he names Richard Parker for 226 days on a boat stranded in the middle of nowhere. Pi grew up
being a Hindu but as he gets older, he starts to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While on the road to nowhere, Pi starts to acquire water from the rain and obtains food to stock
up while he s worrying about the 400 pound tiger that s on the lifeboat while Pi is on a small raft.
When Pi starts to tame Richard Parker he can finally call him a friend and now has a purpose. As
a Hindu, Pi does not eat meat but that went out of the window when he catches a fish and eats it
raw to stay alive. When it comes down to survival there is no preference in what to eat. As Pi
reaches the second level of the hierarchy of needs, he finds himself on the level of safety he needs
to figure out how to stay safe while on the life boat. While Pi was on the boat he was so scared of
Richard Parker that he had jumped off the boat to go in the water, but then realizes that there are
predators just as scary as Richard parker or maybe even worse that he has to avoid to staying safe.
I noticed the presence of sharks around the life boat...The sharks were makos swift, point snouted
predators with long murderous teeth that protruded noticeable from their mouths (Martel 179).
Once Pi tries to overcome his fears and tames Richard like a zookeeper would do and once he
does, he ends up having a companion that helps Pi get through the struggle to survive. Pi finds an
island where he is safe and is able to regain his strength but as he finds a tooth in the algae, Pi

Honor in No One Writes to the Colonel and Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Garcia Marquez
Every culture in the world has its own unique set of values that they adhere to in life. The most
important value to people is their honor. Honor is a very important factor in a person life that they
will stop at nothing to make sure it is not lost. This endless pursuit of keeping honor can causes
both positive and negative effects to a society. The reason honor is a main driving force in a person
s life is for the simple fact that it determines how the society views that person s integrity, honesty
and truthfulness to himself and family.
In the two novellas No One Writes to the Colonel and Chronicle of a Death Foretold, Garcia Marquez

The Colonel and his wife consequently starve in order to maintain the honor given by the rooster.
They conceal this humiliation of poverty by giving a false illusion of who they are to their
neighbors. The Colonel believes that starvation is necessary as long as they are honorable to the
liberal party and their son. The wife of the Colonel states I [place] stones on to boil so the neighbors
wouldn t know that we often go with out food for days (159). The Colonel s wife feels humiliated
that they have to live in poverty to maintain honor. In a moment of doubt the Colonel s wife states to
the Colonel you can t eat dignity (160). Then the author uses a brief interruption in the setting to
show incorrectness in the wife s comment. Garcia uses the interruption of lighting to show that what
the wife said was wrong and that lying and maintaining their honor is the most important thing to do.
This same idea that maintaining honor can cause a person to live a life of lies is seen in the
novella Chronicle of a Death Foretold. The whole town covers up and lies about being involved
and having any information about Santiago Nasar s death. They do this because they want to honor
the Vicario family by making the murder look justifiable and a strict matter of family honor. The
narrator states that, affairs of honor are sacred monopolies, giving access only to those who are part
of it
Run Lola Run Film Techniques
The German thriller film Run Lola Run (Tom Tykwer, 1998) does not follow the classical
Hollywood film style conventions as manipulates both time and classic narrative structure. The
opening of the film does not represent a potential equilibrium like classical Hollywood style film
presents, but it just automatically throws the audience into the principle paradox, being that Lola
needs to get 100,000 Marks to save her boyfriend Manni. The director offers three alternative
narratives in his filmbased on a chain of cause and effects. Each narrative begins with Lola in her
room thinking of who to ask for help, each slightly different, based on series of cause and effect
chains. Time is manipulated greatly in this film as there are flashbacks, and... Show more content on

The classical Hollywood style normally has some kind of narrative when it comes to these types of
things but no. The director leaves everything to the quick eye of the viewer and to their discretion of
what actual happened. The actuality of the different sequences is blurred too. The story really never
explained how the different outcomes actually happened and why it was happening. After Lola died
the first time the sequence starts over almost as a video game and the same when Manni died but
when they actually succeed the film continues with the story and comes to an end.
Tom Tykwer said he wanted to attempt to define the contradictions of existence and which
experiment on both thematic and formal fronts . He wanted to not rehash what Hollywood has
made standard and wanted to try modernized story telling in films. He almost contradicted every
idea of classical Hollywood on every level except on the happy ending. Tom Tykwer wanted this
film to be very different and has exceeded those expectations. His film went to go and win an
