Disease Report on Scabies Essay
Disease Report on Scabies Scabies is a very unpleasant skin disease to acquire. This disease is
also known as the human itch mite. In the medical field, it is known as Sarcoptes scabiei var
hominis. Scabies have been around for centuries. Scabies was first documented in a letter written
by Dr. Giovan Cosimo Bonomo on July, 18, 1687, to Francesco Redi2. This letter provided the first
accurate presentation of the mite, with detailed drawings of its appearance. In this letter, Dr.
Bonomo stated that the sarcoptes scabiei could be transmitted by direct contact, and it stuck to
almost everything. Dr. Bonomo made the discovery by going to villages that had the itch , and
actually managed to obtain a sac from people by sticking a needle... Show more content on

It is then examined under a microscope and if any part of the life cycle of the mite is present, then
a positive diagnosis is the result. (Parish LC, Witkowski JA. The Saga of Ectoparasitoses; Scabies
and Pediculosis. Int J Dermatol, 1999; 38:432 3). The life cycle of the scabies undergo four
stages. First, females deposit three to four eggs per day under the skin. These eggs will hatch in
three to four days, then larvae move to the skin surface and burrow into the stratum corneum to
construct molting pouches. In the larval stage, eggs emerge and have three pair of legs. After the
larval molt, the resulting nymphs have four pair of legs. This form molts into slightly larger
nymphs before molting into adults. The transmission of the scabies usually is passed by direct,
prolonged, skin to skin contact with a person who is already infested. Even without any
symptoms, the infected person can spread the scabies and can easily be transmitted to household
members and sexual partners. Scabies is a common condition found worldwide; it affects people of
all races and social classes regardless of hygiene. There are one million cases per year in the United
States. Institutions such as prisons, nursing homes and childcare centers are often sites of scabies
outbreaks due to the crowded conditions and close contact with people. (http://www.cdc.gov/scabies
/). Prevention and control are done by avoiding direct skin to skin contact with an infected person and
Sins inThe Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne Essay
Be true! Be true! Be true! Show freely to the world, if not your worst, yet some trait whereby the
worst may be inferred (Hawthorne). As this sentence is read in the The Scarlet Letter, the reader will
realize that the main theme of the book is the sentence above. Throughout the book, secret sin
damages the lives, soul, and the integrity of the main characters. However, it could have easily been
evaded through open confession of their sins. Nathaniel Hawthornes purpose in writing this novel is
an attempt to influence the reader to openly confess their sins and never be ashamed of who they
are. According to Levine, even though we convey ourselves as saints, we are really sinners (Levine
64). The Scarlet Letteris a classic work of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After that, he published various works of literature but none of which received popularity or critical
attention (Bloom 12). He continued to produce literary work but the success came when he
introduced The Scarlet Letter (Bloom 13). It brought him both financial and critical success when it
was published in 1850, and paved the way for more monumental novels (Bloom 13). Hawthorne
wrote The Scarlet Letter in an era commonly referred to as The Transcendentalist Movement ( The
Scarlet Letter ). Transcendentalism a reaction against the rationalism of the previous century and the
religious orthodoxy of Calvinist New England, it stressed the romantic tenets of mysticism,
idealism, and individualism ( The Scarlet Letter ). It sees God as an important part of a person and
the world, God was not a harsh distant figure ( The Scarlet Letter ). Simultaneously, Puritan values
and ideas also played a major role in shaping The Scarlet Letter. The Puritans are all alike and,
taking themselves for the standard, see all difference and variety as unnatural, bad (Baym 53). That
is, anything out of the norm, Puritans will instantaneously oppose it and disassociate themselves
from it. Because they are dedicated to forms, rules, laws, [and] structures, the Puritans have no
tolerance for secrets: they take people as purely public beings, and they hate and fear anything
Hate Groups Research Paper
This essay will be on a topic that I think is very in interesting one, It is hate groups in Idaho. I won
t cover every group but I will cover the first five of the eight. However, I will educate you on neo
nazis residing around Arrowrock, A group called the Christian identity which is up in sandpoint,
Idaho, (a group commonly known as skinheads) and white nationalists. Then I will finish up by
explaining the beliefs of holocaust denial groups.

The Neo Nazis is an influential group stationed somewhere in the arrow rock canyon, near Boise,
ID. Neo Nazi groups share a hatred for Jews and a love for Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany.
Currently during the race for the oval office, the Nazis are supporting Donald Trump for him trying

I will now start talking about the christian identity is a white hate church in sandpoint, idaho.
They believe that the jews are the satan s offspring of eve and the serpent and non whites are
mud people created before adam and eve. The main leader which started the christian identity is a
man named louis beam.the group in Idaho is called America s promise ministries. This is what
dave Barley thinks about the other races in America, America s greatness ... didn t come from the
blacks. It didn t come from the Asians, and it certainly didn t come from the Jews. They [the
Jews] wanted to become a part of our nation because of the light. Now, they want it because of
greed. Dave Barley sermon, 2001 this quote was found on the website splc on America s promise
ministries. This group America s promise ministries is the Christian identity group in Idaho.they
take their anger out on jews, blacks, asians, and muslims so therefore these groups support
Trump. Dave Barley also said this at an interview in the Dallas morning news in 1991, We are
guilty of believing that Jesus Christ chose only those of his own race to be his 12 disciples, and
that he did not go out and choose two Chinese, two blacks, two Indians, two Arabs, two women or
two homosexuals. Therefore he [Jesus] would be called a supremacist, racist and bigot by today s
worldly standards. Of the eight hate groups in Idaho we are hopefully saying bye to two millionaire
Christian Identity activists, Vincent bertollini, and Carl story. We will now talk about the racist
skinhead group called the Northwestern
How Does Langston Hughes Use Air As A Metaphor In Mother...
The poem Mother to Son by Langston Hughes, is about Mother who uses stairs as a metaphor for
the long climb through the daily struggles of life to her son. The primary theme of the poem is
struggles of life and never giving up. With these themes Langston Hughes can tell a story about the
mother will using a metaphor that anyone can understand and relate to. The symbolism in the story
are while obvious are still effective at getting the themes and imagery across. The splinters torn up
boards tacks, etc. These represent the challenges that the motherhad to go through while living here
life. Some of these were painful like tacks, and splinters. Others were uncomfortable like the bare
carpet on the stairs or were not pretty like the torn up
Water Pollution in India
In a house that was near the Ganges River, there lived a wealthy family that was doing their
chores. This family included a mother, father, and a boy. The boy in this family was named
Chaitanya meaning consciousness in English. While Chaitanya was doing his daily chores that
day, his mother came over and asked him if he was willing to do an extra chore for her. This chore
was washing clothes in the Ganges River. Chaitanya told her that he was happy to do that for her.
His mother gave him the clothes that she wanted him to wash and then went straight down to the
Ganges River. He looked at the filthy water with a disgusted look on his face and then told himself
that he was not going to wash his family s clothes in this water.

In the end, this radio program could be helpful since a lot of people in India are poor, but they still
have access to radios. The Indian Government will then try to increase the awareness and
understanding of the connection between human and the environment (Government of India, http:/
/india.gov.in).
Another thing that the Indian Government is introducing is environmental education for school
children. They have done this by introducing a program for schools that is all about sanitation and
hygiene. This includes hand washing, infrastructure to clean water, and washing storage
(Government of India, http://www.ceeindia.org).
To teach these children, they have made a cartoon book and an activity manual for teachers. The
cartoon book and teacher s manual is mainly for primary school students and teaches sanitation and
personal hygiene. Since they are doing this, the possibility of the water pollution levels of their
country would possibly be lower (Government of India, http://www.ceeindia.org).

Lack of education in India is not the only reason why water pollution rates are very high there. In
addition to that, the way the government spends money is another reason why water pollution levels
are so high. This is because they are not spending enough of their money on things that are necessary
to improve their citizen s lives. The Indian Government currently only spends about 3.4% of their
money
The And Implementation Of Web
With traditional media outlets dealing with the incoherent nature of audiences and the defiant threat
of revenue decline, new organisations have stepped up taking advantage of this shifting media
landscape (Ellingsen 2014 pp.106). As companies such as Netflix, YouTube and other online
broadcasters instigate adamant change in the way programming is created, consumed and
distributed. This process, as stated by Media professor Chuck Byron, is Broadly discussed as the on
demand culture (Ellingsen 2014 pp.106). Hence with these digital platforms taking the role of a
televisionstudio, independent creators see this online focus as flexible and filled with endless
possibilities for the release and funding of their works.

At the peak of 2007 American television was faced with the strike of the American writer s guild,
resulting in an uncertain future for prime time television with production budgets and
programming styles facing restructure (Peirce 2011 pp. 315). Taking advantage of a new format
and the current situation of the television industry producers Marshall Herskovitz and Edward
Zwick initiated and 8 episode web series made available through the social media site Myspace .
The show named Quarter life followed a group of friends in their twenties, as they pursue their
dreams and experience the bitter and the sweet of life (Peirce 2011 pp. 315). Throughout it s
thirty six episode, two live per week structure the show amassed 10 million views. Seeing its
instant popularity the rights to the program was purchased and its format converted into a 1 hour
television special by NBC, who saw this as an incredible opportunity to cash in on a show with an
already established online following (Peirce 2011 pp. 3.16). However, as it debuted Quarter life
saw a depletions in viewers at a total of 3.1 million as well as a low adult demographic rating of
1.3. Further emphasising the significance of the question regarding, what structural elements
allowed for its online success and television failure (Peirce 2011 pp. 3.16). As depicted by Jay
Bolter and Richard Grusin the answer to this question lies in the theory of remediation.
The remediation
How Did Charles I Prevent The English Civil War
Charles I of England, the king tried for treason and beheaded in 1649, was constantly in some
type of conflict with Parliament. During his entire reign there never was a time of peace in
England. Though Charles I did inherit some of his troubles from England s prior monarchs, the
mass of his problems came from his actions and disposition towards Parliament. Through an
examination of Charles I s reign, one can see the choices Charles had and made, and how he could
have prevented the English Civil War. The trouble that Charles I inherited was from Elizabeth I and
her debt from her war with Spain. This debt was passed to her heir, James I, who tried to pay for it
through non parliamentary revenues such as Knight s fines and impositions. Like
21st Century Lecture In The Spirit Of The Time By Ralf Black
The problems of the society always found reflection in the literature works of various authors.
While some of them chose to criticize the in a rather subtle and soft way, some poems or literature
works offer the readers harsh depiction of the politics in the modern world. Ralf Black writes his
poem 21st CenturyLecture in the spirit of the time, with simple ideas implied in the complicated
imaginary. The author s perception of the world in the poem is built in terms of criticism of how
people behave in the modern society and the ways in which they tend to reveal their weaknesses. The
poem reflects on the different aspects of modern life including the environmental damaging and
resulting problems, the political issue of the wars in our world, and the issues connected to the
everyday life, such as the consumerism, bringing up... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, while analyzing the poem, it is necessary to start with its title. Ralf Black s choice of the
heading for his poem 21st Century Lecture was not accidental. First, the title prepares the readers
that the main idea of the poem concerns the modern time and the life of every single person
nowadays. Therefore, the author shows the reader that they might also find their own reflection in
this literature work. Second, an important aspect was also mentioning the word lecture in the title.
In the understanding of a usual reader, the lecture is regarded as something that teaches and
provides information for consideration. Taking the idea of teaching and educating to the
foreground implied in the title, the author wanted to draw our attention to the aim of the poetry.
He tunes the reader to be ready to find valuable ideas in the poem, and by calling it a lecture he
emphasizes the role of it for every person. Moreover, in such a way, the author might want to show
the value of the ideas that he expresses in the
