Panem Dystopian Society
Usually in a utopian society the concept of it being an ideally perfect place is shared by all
members of the society. In Panem s case, only the rich and those in government power can really
believe that Panem is an ideal society. As shown throughout the book, most citizens that live among
the districts oppress the lifestyle that they have. Therefore, Panem can t possibly be a utopian
society; Actually, it is more of a DYSTOPIAN society. Hence, Panem is outright a dystopian
society because of the composition of social classes and the outright brutality the Hunger Games
brings to the city year after year. A critical reason why Panem is a dystopian society is the broken
structure of social classes. Specifically the lack of nourishment the districts
The Gun Control Debate in America
GUN CONTROL DEBATE IN AMERICA

Gun control has become a very hot topic of contention in America today. What seems to echo here
are two words: guns and crime , in a sense that are these words mutually exclusive to each other?
Does the use of guns ultimately lead to crime? On the flip side, have the laws in America restricting
firearm use been effective enough to protect the lives of the citizens? These are some of the
questions that strike the hearts of many when the gun control debate music is played. However, the
debate about gun control is not new.
Guns as we know them to be are very powerful and dangerous weapons. They are instruments that
can be used to inflict severe harm and can even lead to death. However, amidst this fact of ... Show

Flowing from my analogy about the big pot, I would like to further present the American context
that as we know has two main political ideologies, the republicans and the democrats. On one hand,
history has shown that the republicans have for a long time supported the pro gun movement. The
reason is because of their intrinsic nature of conservatism, and the fact that they are backed by the
national rifle association which happens to be a key player in this debate. On the other hand,
Democrats are known to be supporters of the gun control debate. This is because of the increased
sale in guns after the 9/11 attacks; hence, they try to cavers on the issue. In this regard, it seems
notable that the republicans are on the front row.
Now, from my little knowledge of political philosophy, government as a concept refers to a
constituted body that helps to keep and protect the basic rights of its citizens, and also to make laws
that ensure that everyone in the society is safe. Therefore, the gun control issue cannot be over
emphasized for the American government or any other government on a larger scale. One of the
questions surrounding the gun control debate in America is to ascertain whether or not the second
amendment grants the freedom of firearm ownership to common citizens. The amendment however,
seems to support the possession of firearm by the militia.
The social perspective has to do with the citizens and the society. In this regard,

School Bullying and the Attempts to Prevent it.
School bullying and bullying as a whole has become a growing concern. The need for more
intervention is more recognized, as incidents of bullying and inappropriate acts towards others
occur in places outside of the classroom. This literature takes a closer look at bullying in schools.
Olwesus (2013) states the field of bullying research is to some extent plagued by problems,
disagreements, and unresolved issues (p.752). Whether if anyone will agree on the root of
bullying, the fact remains that bullying has to be examined at its very core to remedy the matter
before it becomes a bigger concern. There is a dire need for intervention based programs to be set
in place to address the fact the act of bullying has lasting effects on the bully and the victim. When
intervention programs are put into place to address bullying, the act of bullying decreases due to the
gained understanding of the effects.

What effects does bullying have on the bully and the victim?
Physics Behind Airplanes
The entire concept behind airplanes is to construct them in such a way that the airflow pattern
around generates lift allowing them to fly. This airflow is produced by the forward motion of the
plane through the air. The forward motion of the plane is produced by its engine, which could be a
propeller engine or turbine. These engines create thrust by accelerating the air in front of them
backwards. The acceleration of the air backward pushes the plane forward due to Newton s third law
as every forcehas an equal and opposite force. The liftforce that allows a plane to remain in the air
is created by the airflow passing over the wings. This airflow only occurs if the planes is moving
through the air meaning that lift is only possible if a plane... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means that the planes experiences zero acceleration and the forces acting on the plane must
balance each other out. In order for the vertical components of the plane to cancel out, the lift
created by the wings must equal the weight of the plane caused by gravity. For the horizontal
components of the plane to cancel out, the thrust created by the engines must equal the drag due
to air resistance. Although it is important to note, lift is generally angled slightly backwards. This
means that some of the drag is caused by the lift force, and the lift force actually needs to be
greater than the weight of the plane. When a plane is taking off or landing, it experience similar
forces as it does when it is at level flight. Lift remains perpendicular to the velocity of the plane.
The drag is in the opposite direction of the velocity. Thrust opposes the drag, so it is in the same
direction as the velocity. The weight of the airplane is straight down as it is caused by gravity.
Again, if the plane is travelling at a constant velocity, then the forces acting on it must cancel one
another. For the following equations, L represents lift, T represents thrust, D represents drag, and W
represents weight. In order for the vertical components to equal zero, Lcosθ + Tsinθ Dsinθ W = 0.
For the horizontal components to equal zero, Tcosθ Dcosθ Lsinθ = 0. If the plane

The Character Elbow in Shakespeare s Play, Measure for Measure

In Act 2, scene 1 of the play Measure for Measure the character Elbow, a representation of the
Comedic Constable often depicted in William Shakespeare s comedies and traji comedies, gives the
director an unusual creative license in portraying this figure to give the audience a rich theatrical
experience. (Evans 427) These characters are most commonly depicted as artless, inadequate, naïve,
and prosaic men who bumble through their official duties, sublimely unaware of their blunders,
intent upon fulfilling their offices even when they are not really sure just what those offices are.
(Evans 427) They are honest men as well, duteous, as none of Shakespeare s comic ... Show more

In this scene Elbow s misplacing creates a atmosphere of topsy turvydom, wherein the judges are
varlets, Pompey is an honorable man, a respected fellow, indeed...a benefactor. (Ross 52) It is
impossible to miss the fun of this scene, which deliberately echoes and parallels and so recalls the
Dogberry Verges scenes in Much Ado About Nothing. (Bennett 31)

Elbow has just shortly entered the court in a rather loud commotion with Froth and Pompey, whom
he is pushing along and leading by their elbows. He has raised accusations against them and has
come to have the courts investigate and give ruling on the matter. Elbow approaches with them to
Angelo, who is seated in the Duke s chair in place of his absence, and Escalus, who is standing on
his right beside him. Elbow s appearance is neat as he wears a badge signifying his position as
constable, but burdened by a belt which contains a club, a large key ring with numerous keys, a
pair of handcuffs, and other odds and ends. Angelo is wearing a black court judge s robe, Escalus
is in a formal attire with a suit, and Pompey and Froth are in more
Essay on Conflict in All My Sons
Conflict in All My Sons

The conflict in the play All My Sons in embodied by two different sets of values. The older
generation represented by Joe and Kate strongly believed in family values and Pursue of the
American dream at any cost. In contradiction, Joe and Anne express the younger generation s ethics
and ideals clearly shown in the thoughts of idealism that money is not the most important thing in
life. Even though the younger generation s ideals are sometimes thought of as being irrational and in
conflict with reality, all throughout the play their validity is greater.

Many times in parents child relationships the parents have a very different view on things than the
child they had raised. Most of these gaps are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The readers of the play know that even though Chris thought about it in a moment of weakness he
would not forget his ethics and therefore would never do something that he believes to be wrong.
There is no point of Chris trying to change his mind because the passion he speaks in about these
ideals will never die.

Chris and Anne did not have their own family yet, which was an excuse for the older generation to
contradict them although they knew the difference between right and wrong. In this play the
word father to Chris means righteousness and integrity. If one cannot look beyond one s personal
circle they are condemned to an ending that is a tragic moment of realization that may bring an
ending similar to Joe s. Another morality issue, which Chris has to deal with in regards to his
father in taking responsibility. It is possible that Chris would have shown signs of forgiveness if
Joe were to take responsibility for his actions. Instead of doing so once again he was hiding
behind doing good only for the benefits of his inner circle. There s nothing he could do that I
wouldn t forgive. Because he s my son. Because I m his father and he s my son. In these words
Keller expresses his own optimism that no matter what he is to do Chris will always understand,
and forgive. That was not the case. If Keller could not forgive himself, why did he believe that Chris
would ever be able to forgive
The Importance Of Media Diversity In The Media
Society and communication hold a cooperative agreement which functions primarily as an avenue
for the spread of cultural ideals to the general public. In this sense, communication is essential to
cultural expression, serving to expand and diversify culture within a society. Yet throughout the past
year, this relationship was distorted, analyzed, and questioned extensively amidst a surge of alleged
media bias, and cries of fake news. This perceived bias references the tendency of news outlets to
pick and choose what viewers ought to be thinking about, a process known as agenda setting, which
leads to an abundance of diversity in how different news outlets cover the same story. A distinctive
example of this variance is found in the coverage of the NFL protestthis past Sunday. Players from
almost every team kneeled and locked arms during the national anthem, and on Monday, (9/25/17)
after the protesting was finished, the story was covered globally. The media channels of CNN, The
Independent, and VICE are ideal sources to showcase diversity in news due to the pronounced
differences in their coverage of this story. Such differences include which aspects of the story are
highlighted, what context is established for the report.
CNN is easily distinguishable from the other two sources simply because it gave this story the
largest coverage. Thorough Monday, the 25th of September, cnn.com published a whopping 44
articles and videos discussing the NFL s defiance. The front

Increasing caregiver support service access and use among Chinese Americans
I. Introduction
The policy that will be analyzed is the federal Older American Act Title III E, which was approved
by the Congress in 2000. It regulates National Family Caregiver Support Programs (NFCSP), a
categorical non income tested program, aiming to provide direct services to informal family
caregivers. Under the federal administration from AoA, the NFCSP is carried out through a
network of 56 State Units on Aging (SUAs), 655 Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) and local public
or private institutions. Specifically, AAAs provide five category services to caregivers by using the
allocated NFCSP funding information regarding services, assistance for accessing services,
counseling/support groups/training, short term respite and supplement services on a limited basis.
My field placement is the New York City Department for the Aging (DFTA), a local government
agency and the largest Area Agency on Aging (AAA) in U.S. Its mission is to work for the
quality of life of New York City s diverse older adults and for the support of their families through
advocacy, education and delivery of services. Under the network of DFTA, Bureau of HealthCare
Connections (HCC) is responsible for funding, monitoring and administrating NFCSP programs in
New York City.
Definitely, NFCSP resulted in positive outcomes. It represented a strong legislative commitment to
caregivers and promoted comprehensive support services
