Fundamentals of Professional Nursing course. Preventing Bed Sores A bed sore, also known as
a pressure ulcer is known as a wound that usually arises over boney prominences due to increased
pressure in that area. Pressure ulcers are staged into stage I, stage II, stage III, stage IV, and
unstageable. Today, pressure ulcers are increasing in nursing care centers and it s becoming a
problem. These sores interfere and produce pain, which can also lead to being admitted to the
hospital if severe enough. The incident rate for acquiring a pressure ulcer in older adults aged 65
and up in nursing care centers is 2.2% 28% (Spear, 2013). It is important to prevent ulcers because
infection can occur once they arise, which can lead to sepsis. It is very important to make sure
nursing care centers understand ways to prevent pressure ulcers. An ounce of ... Show more content

Gung Ho Sparknotes
Gung Ho, by Ken Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles was a wonderful book that discussed many
important factors involved in making a company truly successful. It had a good storyline to help
to tell the story of Gung Ho. When I first picked up the book to read it I really had no idea what to
expect to learn from the book. The points that were made in this book were very simple and
common sense principles. I say that these principles are simple, but many companies do not think of
these little things when running a large business. They try to go by the book and get too caught up in
sticking to their rules and regulations. Sometimes you just have to use a little common sense when
running a business.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I felt like I was making a worthwhile difference to the members by providing them with good service.
It is amazing what you can do as a team when you all have a shared goal in mind. The owner set
the goals for us to go by, but was always willing to listen to ideas from his employees. This allowed
everyone to feel as if they were having a hand in making the Grille a better place. The spirit of the
squirrel reminds me of the people I worked with and how they all pulled together to help. As Andy
Longclaw said in the book, worthwhile doesn t mean more than important, it just covers more
territory than important . All of the Grille workers knew the work they did was important, and that
led to a common goal between all of us. We used values to guide all of our work and didn t take
shortcuts because we had values. We knew that every little thing was worthwhile and part of a
larger plan. In the book, Andy says that everyone should work toward a shared goal and that
goals are marker posts you drive into the future landscape between where you are and where you
want to be. We all decided to make a goal of making the Grille the best it had been in years and to
keep it under one owner for more than two years. Andy also reported about there being two types
of goals. One is result goals set out where we want to be. The other is value goals set out the impact
we want to make on the lives of team members, customers, and the community.
Acupuncture Strengths And Weaknesses
The weaknesses of acupuncture are very few, as mentioned earlier. The main issue would be
trypanophobia, which is the fear of needles, and that would obviously hamper treatment as it would
cause more stress being treated with needles, and then having to sit there for 15 minutes. Another
weakness would be how untested acupunctureis. The study by Kim (2012) showed a that
acupuncture does help with the alleviation of acne, and in the study they cited a few other studies
that had similar conclusions that supported the theory, but as a whole there are very few studies on
the effectiveness of acupuncture and the improvement of acne. Because of this, it is hard for
acupuncture as a treatment for acne to become a common practice, as there is
Antacid Lab Write Up
The purpose of this lab is to identify the most effective and affordable antacid using vinegar to
represent acidity in the stomach.

Original Procedure
Test the pH of the vinegar and each antacid.
Place 5 drops of each antacid on the wax paper and mix in 5 drops of vinegar in each.
Test the pH of the mixture.
When we got the same results for all three mixtures (pH: 4), we decided to modify our procedure.

Modified Procedure
Instead of mixing a few drops of each substance, we decided to mix 5 mL of the antacid with 5 mL
of the vinegar.

Data (Original Experiment)

Vinegar pH: 2

Mylanta Maximum Strength
Generic Antacid Regular Strength pH 9

An acid produces H+ ions in an aqueous solution, while a base produces OH .
Neutralization is when a substance has equal amounts of H+ and OH ions. The pH of a neutral
substance is 7. An acid and a base are reactants in the reaction. A salt and water are formed i all
neutralization reactions.

Discussion Questions
Mg(OH)2 is a strong base, while HCl is a strong acid. Mg(OH)2 interacts with the HCl present in the
stomach. When enough Mg(OH)2 is present, the acidity in the stomach neutralizes since acids and
bases are complete opposites.
2HCl + Mg(OH)2 → MgCl2 + 2H2O
Not all antacids contain magnesium hydroxide. Other bases available in other antacids may be more
effective than magnesium hydroxide. For example, antacids containing calcium carbonate take
longer to work, however, the results last much longer than antacids with magnesium hydroxide.
An uncertainty in this experiment is that white vinegar is not 100% HCl. Therefore, the actual
results of an antacid interacting with hydrochloric acid in the stomach may be a little off than our
experimental
Descartes Epistemology
Epistemology

Carefully explain Descartes cogito and his attempt to build his knowledge structure from the ground
up. (Be as succinct as possible.) Does Descartes succeed or fail in that attempt? Justify your answer
in full.
Descartes Epistemology
This essay attempts to explain Descartes epistemology of his knowledge, his Cogito, Ergo Sum
concept (found in the Meditations), and why he used it [the cogito concept] as a foundation when
building his structure of knowledge. After explaining the concept I give a brief evaluation of his
success in introducing and using this cogito as a foundation. Finally, I provide reasons why I think
Descartes succeeded in his epistemology.
The First ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The argument, as Descartes presented, does not give a valid reason for the existence of the body
or anything else in the physical world, so we cannot accept that bodies exist. Neither does the cogito
account for the existence of other minds as that would entail knowledge of the physical world where
other things exist. The cogito concept does however; give a valid argument for the existence of the
mind or a thinking thing that exists independently of the body. In his novel Think, Blackburn
explains the cogito concept as a means of justifying the core of one s existence as thinking, we
accept that thought exists not a self (Blackburn, 2001:20). I agree with Blackburn because his
[Descartes ] concept serves well to prove that we exist as thinking things and even if we were to
discard any a priori or a posteriori knowledge, we can still endorse the cogito. The cogito concept
stands regardless of empirical knowledge because it suggests the existence of thought without
actually linking it to the body (which constitutes a sort of empirical way of acquiring knowledge
through the senses). In addition, it can be accepted without any a priori knowledge since Descartes
only introduced it after concluding that he knew nothing, and could only accept knowledge of his
own existence as vindicated.
To assess Descartes choice of foundation I will raise some questions that implore an explanation

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Political Dynasty In The...
Political dynasty is a well known method of politicians in the Philippines wherein the members of
the family is made also a member of the government in order for them to not lose power but to gain
more power. This act is an unfair and unjust because the government is not a business that a family
can run by themselves, but the government is for all and other people should be given chances
wherein they can be the one that leads a community. The government or politics is not a business
that can be run by generation and generation of a family the government is a critical part of a
community having different leaders in every generation and not only one leader that has his or her
family in the position of the government cause the system will not... Show more content on

The other disadvantage of this is once a family starts having political dynasty they will thirst for
dominance they would harbor more power in their family they would want to dominate the
society and considering of that attitude it will lead to the fall of the society and its people.
According to Angela Casauay, The House Bill 3587 or the act prohibiting the Establishment of
Political Dynasties seeks to prohibit relatives and according to Jan Danelle A. Patindol, up to the
second degree of consanguinity to hold or run for both national and local office in Successive,
simultaneous, or overlapping term. The quote Successive, simultaneous, or overlapping term ,
means that you cannot run as a politician if a member of your family or relative is still in the
politics. This bill brings potential about real reform. The families that have been voted repeatedly
would abuse the people, because they have their trust and would make use of it to widen their
power in their community. People are deprived of their right to vote for who they want because a
person sitting in the highest position of the government moreover they will do everything and
anything for his family member to become a part of the government or another is if the family
member is to end his term and his other family member is to run for the position he or she is in the
result or the winner in the end would
Jenkins Case Studies
Jenkins Family Case Study Module
In this case study, our group will assess the current health of the Jenkins family based on our
knowledge of the six dimensions of health, health promotion strategies, and cultural/ethnic barriers
to health care. The family members in this case study are Theresa, Tyron, Pam, and Richard
Renehart. Theresa Jenkins is a 78 year old African American/Hispanic female with hypertension,
suspected depression and is at risk for diabetes. Tyron Jenkins, Theresa s son, is a 49 year old
African American/Hispanic male with no known health complications other than moderate
headaches and an above average blood pressure. Pam Jenkins, Tyron s wife, is a 36 year old
Hispanic/Caucasian female who is 30 weeks into her third pregnancy. ... Show more content on

Pam and Tyron allow support for their family due to their educational background and tight knit
family culture. Since Tyron is goal oriented, this allows the family to have a leader for a structural
support. He would be able to motivate Pam to quit smoking, Theresa to get out of the house and
exercise with him, and Richard to improve his diet.
A positive and supportive relationship with family is a main priority in African American and
Hispanic descents. According to Halgunseth (2016), African American adolescents who have family
support are less likely to attempt suicide and abuse substances. Theresa, Tyron, and Pam share the
Catholic faith, which means that not only is their spiritual health enhanced, but so is their social
health by communicating with each other and creating a sense of togetherness.
Anthem Summary Of Anthem
Anthem is about a man named Equality 7 2521 who finds a subway underneath his corrupt city to
learn. While he is down there he discovers the power of electricity and figures out how to use it.
When he tries to show his city they punished him and he ran away with The Golden One and found a
home which they wished to start a new life, but Equality found out to understand the word I and
finds out the truthbehind the Utopia he lived in for all his life. Anyone who is different gets
punished. The City has so many rules and controls because they are there to keep the people
unaware of the truth, to keep people down a certain path and to keep their Utopia a great place
and Equality would have many rules and controls. The first reason this city has so many rules is
that they want to keep everyone from finding out about the truth. The city and world leaders don t
want people to know about Ego because they re master plan to keep the society from worrying
about themselves and only be part a we and have nothing to do with I . If the people figure out
that life is not just about we and start helping ourselves, then there is no purpose to the city
anymore. Thinking about only people as a we and not I seems like a phenomenal idea, but not
everyone the same and we have to explore personally to do it. We are in all and all in one. There
are no men, but only the great WE, one indivisible and forever. (19) This shows that the people are
taught only we and know nothing of I. The
First Day On The Job
First Day on the Job I ve been employed in the fast food industry for just over three months now.
That may not seem like very long to someone with years of experience under their belt, but I
cannot stress enough how much these last few months have changed me. I ve learned more about
personal responsibility and independence at this job than I did during four years of high school.
While the whole process has been meaningful to me, what really set it in motion was my first day
behind the counter. My first day at a real job taught me that no one is going to hold your hand past
high school, and that they shouldn t be expected to.
I was given papers to study in advance, detailing the ingredients of the food we served and the

No request to add cheese or hold the sauce was missed in the chaos, and the food was quickly
prepared and sent away to the right register. It was amazing, especially because our cook was also
our manager. Between the meals she prepared, she also kept us all in order. Everyone else
multitasked just as effectively. The supervisor who was training me was also working the drive
through window. Everyone was racing around in their non slip shoes, effectively juggling more
balls than I even thought possible. I looked down at the rubber non slip covers I had pulled over a
worn out pair of sneakers, and realized how temporary I was. If I couldn t keep up, I d be handing
in my shoe covers and going home before the dinner rush even started.
I signed in, and it was time to find my place in the organized chaos. I met the supervisor responsible
for training me by the drive through window, and between orders from customers she directed me to
the fountain area, where drinks and desserts were prepared. It was hardly more than a corner, with
sticky metal containers of fruit and candy flavors embedded in the counter. It faced a soda
dispenser, and an ice cream dispenser that I was about to become very familiar with. My job for the
day was to make drinks and desserts as they were ordered at the drive through window. Simple,
right? On paper, it certainly seemed that way. I didn t even have to ring up the orders or begin to
worry about how the food was made. But in practice, I was dropped
