Q.1/A- Read the following passage carefully: (21 Marks)
Gardening is the practice of growing plants. Gardening may be very specialized with one type of
plant grown or a large number of different plants in mixed plantings. It involves an active
participation in the growing of plants, and tends to be labour intensive which differentiates it from
farming or forestry. Useful plants are grown for consumption or for medicinal use such as
vegetables, fruits, herbs, and leaf vegetables. Gardener is someone who practices gardening.
There are five types of gardens; indoor gardening, native plants gardening, water gardening
container gardening, and community gardening. To practice gardening you need some tools; a spade
for digging and making holes, a hand trowel for planning small plants, a rake for collecting up dead
leaves, and a hosepipe for watering plants.
