1/4 yard green cluster dots (C8954 Green) Cloud Confetti Cotton
1/8 yard navy cluster dots (C8954 Navy) Cut 2 strips 10" x WOF.
1 1/3 yard cloud confetti cottons (C120 Cloud) Sub-cut from strips:
5/8 yard binding 5 - 10" squares (E)
2 - 5 1/2" squares (I)

White Main Cut 2 strips 2 3/4" x WOF.
Cut 1 strip 4 7/8" x WOF. Sub-cut from the strips:
Sub-cut from strip: 20 - 2 3/4" squares (H)
5 - 4 7/8" squares (A)
Binding
Gray Main Cut 7 strips 2 1/4" x WOF.
Cut 1 strip 5 1/4" x WOF.
Sub-cut from strip: QUILT ASSEMBLY
8 - 5 1/4" squares (B) Refer to the quilt photo for the placement of prints. The
blocks have a different combination of prints.
Navy Trees
Cut 1 strip 5 1/4" x WOF. Small Flying Geese
Sub-cut from strip: Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the D squares.
8 - 5 1/4" squares (B)
Cut 1 strip 5 1/2" x WOF. Select 4 D squares with the same print and 1 F square.
Sub-cut from strip:
2 - 5 1/2" squares (C)
trim the remaining strip to 5" wide for Border 2.
Cut 5 strips 5" x WOF for Border 2.

Place a D square in the upper left corner of the F square, Large Flying Geese

Repeat to place another D square in the lower right E
corner. The D squares will over lap. Sew 1/4" on each side
of the drawn lines. Make 4 green and 1 blue. Star Blocks
Select 4 small flying geese with the same print, 4 H
squares and 1 A square. Sew the units together into 3
rows. Sew the rows together for the Block Center.

Cut on drawn line. Press the D squares away from the F


square. A

Select 4 large flying geese with the same print and 4 G


Place a D square on the remaining corners of the F squares. Sew the units and the Block Center together into
squares. Sew 1/4" on each side of the drawn lines. 3 rows. Sew the rows together to complete a Star Block
(18" square).

Cut on the drawn lines and press open. This process


makes 4 small flying geese.

Repeat to make 5 Star Blocks.

Quilt Center Assembly


Repeat with the remaining D and F squares to make 20 Refer to the quilt photo for block placement.

Borders
Seam allowances vary so measure through the center
of the quilt before cutting border pieces. Sew border
strips together end to end if necessary to get the length
needed. Sew side borders first.

Border 1
Side borders should be 53". Top and bottom borders
should be 55".

Border 2
Sew the six 5" border strips together. Cut 4 border strips
5" x 55". Sew 2 border strips to the sides of the quilt.

Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the I squares.

Place a C and I square RST. Sew 1/4" on each side of the


drawn line. Cut on the drawn line. Press open to make 2
half square triangles (HST). Repeat to make 4 HST. Square
up to 5".

Sew the HST to the ends of the remaining border strips


and sew to the top and bottom of the quilt.

Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back.


Bind with your favorite print from the In the Forest
collection. Have fun with your colors and enjoy the
journey of making your quilt.
