UPSC CSE Exam Pattern and Syllabus Overview

1. Preliminary Exam (Objective Type)

Paper I (General Studies - GS): 200 marks, 2 hours

Topics include:

- Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity, and Climate Change

- General Science

- Current Affairs

Paper II (CSAT): 200 marks, 2 hours (Qualifying, 33% required)

- Basic Numeracy and Data Interpretation (Class 10 level)

2. Mains Exam (Written Type)
