ABSTRACT
The Smart farming system based on Arduino Technology as well as Internet of Things
(IoT) technology has brought revolution to each and every field of common man’s life
by making everything smart and intelligent. IoT refers to a network of things which make a
self-configuring network. The development of Intelligent Smart Farming IoT based devices is
day by day turning the face of agriculture production by not only enhancing it but also
making it cost-effective and reducing wastage.

The objective of this paper is to propose a Novel Smart IoT based Agriculture Stick
assisting farmers in getting Live Data (Temperature, Soil Moisture) for efficient
environment monitoring which will enable them to do smart farming and increase their
overall yield and quality of products.

This is used to evaluate soil materials and track countless light prevalence. The
electrochemical sensors aid in the collection, processing and mapping of the chemical
data of the soil.
They are used to measure soil compression or mechanical oppposition. It basically
calculates the moisture level in the soil with the assisstance of a dielectric constant.
The Agriculture stick being proposed via this paper is integrated with Arduino
Technology, Breadboard mixed with various sensors The product being proposed is
tested on Live Agriculture Fields giving high accuracy over 98% in data feeds.

Internet of Things (IoT) is a technology that permits things to communicate and connect with
each other. This is helpful in changing the patterns and processes in both industry and
agriculture towards higher efficiency. A system is proposed which describes the smart
farming in order to improve the production process in planting. Smart farming consists of two
main parts which are a sensor system and a control system. Sensor system consists of a set of
tools to obtain the sensed values. Control system involves a blower, watering and roofing
system operated on a human interface.Arduino boards are programmed for sensing and the
controlling system. Programming for controlling the system is done in python. The sensed
values from the different sensor are viewed on users side. Results are maintained as a database
and the graphical representation of the same is obtained. Looking on to results obtained from
the sensor system, the control system is activated using the python controlling console. An
increase in product quality and quantity is achieved by following the proper decision-making
process.
INTRODUCTION

 Farming has always been an essential human activity that has sustained civilization
for thousands of years. With the rapid growth in population and the consequent
demand for food, it has become increasingly important to optimize farming practices
to meet the needs of the world’s growing population.
 In recent years, technological advancements have revolutionized the way we approach
farming, leading to the emergence of a new approach known as “smart farming”.
 Smart farming is an innovative approach to agriculture that integrates technology into
farming practices, enabling farmers to optimize crop yields, reduce waste, and
improve efficiency.
 This approach uses a range of technologies, including sensors, artificial intelligence,
and the internet of things (I o T), to collect data and provide real-time insights into
crop health, soil quality, and other key indicators.
 Smart farming also offers numerous benefits, including increased productivity,
reduced labor costs, improved crop quality, and a more sustainable approach to
farming. This approach also offers greater precision, enabling farmers to target
specific areas of their farms that require attention and reduce the use of chemicals and
fertilizers.

Agriculture is the practice of cultivating plants and livestock in order to provide

facilities the human beings. In the rise of the sedentary human lifestyle agriculture
was the key development. The cultivation of plant and food grains began years ago in
order to provide food to the city population. Agriculture is the main need for the
people to live in the society. Agriculture is the main source of livelihood, it provides a
source for the people to earn. Most of the population in the rural areas is dependent on
agriculture as their main source of income. Agriculture contributes significantly to a
country’s GDP that is the Gross Domestic Production of a country. By the passing of
time, there are a number of revolutions that take place in order to improve agriculture
throughout the world or a country. If we talk about agriculture, India has witnessed a
number of Revolutions, that is, the green revolution, yellow revolution, blue
revolution, agriculture. Agriculture affects the biodiversity of a country depending
upon agricultural activities.

CONCLUSION

Smart farming is the future of agriculture. It is an approach to farming that uses technology to
increase yields, improve efficiency, and reduce inputs. Smart farming includes the use of sensors,
GPS, and other data driven techniques to optimize crop production.

The goal of smart farming is to produce more with less. By using technology to increase
yields and reduce inputs, farmers can save money and resources while still producing high-quality
crops. Smart farming also reduces the impact on the environment by reducing the amount of
chemical and water used in agriculture.

There are many benefits of smart farming, but there are also some challenges. One challenge
is the cost of implementing smart farming technologies, another challenge is that not all farmers
have access to the necessary technology. However, as more farmers adopt smart farming practices,
the cost of implementation will decrease and access to technology will increase.

The future of smart farming lies in our ability to harness this data and use it to make
informed decision about every aspect of our operations. This includes everything from planting and
irrigation schedules to pest management and crop rotation. In past, farmers relied on intuition and
experience to make these decisions. Today, we can use data analytics to make much more informed
choices that can lead to increased yields and decreased costs..
RESULT AND ANALYSIS

There are many methodologies and works performed in the area of smart farming. Every work
paves the way for the upcoming researcher to explore more. The agriculture sector is in need of
some automation techniques and tools with smart technology. Internet of Things paves the way for
achieving this feat by developing various smart devices in the field and constantly monitoring the
climatic and soil conditions. All the above works mainly focus on temperature and humidity
constraints, the moisture content of the soil, fertility level of soil, etc. Most widely used IoT
Processors include Raspberry PI, Arduino with ARM processors. We summarize the works with
various physical and logical resources used in their IoT system.

Wireless Fidelity(Wi-Fi) is the communication technology used in most farming systems. In

IoT system for agriculture, the sensed pH value and soil moisture content are update to the central
coordinator using Wi-Fi communication. Smart Agriculture using IoT and WSN project uses Wi-Fi
communication in a much productive manner. They have implemented wireless routers in the field
as well as the smart warehouse. The sensed temperature and humidity information, captured images
of the field is sent to the module which processes the data and send a command to actuate necessary
actuation using wireless communication.
FUTURE SCOPE

 In the coming years, smart farming is projected to create a massive impact on the
agricultural economy by bridging the gap between small and large-scale businesses.
The trend is not only pertinent in developed countries — developing countries have
also realized its immense importance as well.

 Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things like promising technologies convert

traditional farming into smart agriculture by optimizing resources, reducing human
labor, crop monitoring, weed handling, crop disease management, irrigation,
harvesting and supply chain management.

 The benefit of smart agriculture lies in its collection of real-time data on crops, the
precise assessment of soil and crops, remote monitoring by farmers, supervising water
and other natural resources, and improving livestock and agricultural production.
