GROUP 14: S.W.O.T. MEETING REPORT

The meeting was held on Sunday December 1st 2024 in the University of Buea, at G-block at
14:50 with all mentioned members in attendance.
The purpose of the meeting was to do a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and
Threats) analysis on the group and each member present was individually required to ask the
whole group the following:
• What the other members think his/her strengths are.
• What the other members considered his/her weaknesses.
• And what the other members suggest as self-improvements.
The general order of questioning and answering started from the group head, followed by her
assistant and then continued in the order by which the members were seated.
Below is the SWOT analysis of the group
1. DORENOEL (GROUP HEAD)
Nkwelle (group assistant) had the following opinions to share about Dorenoel:
• For her strengths, he applauded her ability to the organise the group and urged
her to keep on it.
• For her weaknesses, he pointed out that she lacked self-confidence.
• And for improvements, he proposed that she practices speaking in front of
audiences more often.
Jose also had one or two things to say, as he mentioned the following:
• For her strengths, he mentioned she is easy to collaborate with. He also
acknowledged the fact that she is lively.
• For her weaknesses, he pointed out that she has stage fright.
• And he gave a similar solution as Nkwelle, proposing she makes more of an
effort to speak in front of audiences.
Achah followed up with the following:
• For her strengths, he agreed with Nkwelle and Jose with the fact that she
organises the group and collaborates well with its members.
• For her weaknesses, he stood with Jose in the fact that she has stage fright and
also proposed a similar solution to it. He also thinks she complains too much
about the given work.
• As improvements, he suggested thoughtfully that she complain less, and try to
love the work.
Frederic continued the conversation, stating that:
• For her strengths, he agreed with everything that had been said on
collaboration.
• For her weaknesses, he also agreed with what had been said on lack of self-
confidence and stage fright and also suggested similar improvements for them.
Furthermore, John had the following to say:
• He applauded the fact that despite she being the only girl in the group, she
wasn’t scared or suppressed.
• But with respect to her weaknesses, he agreed with all what had been
mentioned.
• And as an improvement, he suggested she works on the volume of her voice.
Finally, Bryan concluded saying that:
• He agreed with the group about her being collaborative, but he also added that
he thinks she genuinely cares about her team and she is reasonable, especially
when it concerns the groups’ conflicting timetables.
• With respect to her weaknesses, he addressed the fact that he felt like she
didn’t want to be the group head but rather a normal member which he thinks
has affected her group performance. He also agreed with what was said about
her self-confidence. And he pointed out that he thinks she’s a bit distracted.
• As suggestions, he urged her to learn to take charge of the group.
2. NKWELLE (ASSISTANT)
Dorenoel, started off by saying the following:
• Concerning his strengths, she considers him active and supportive.
• As for his weaknesses, she pointed out that he can be sluggish at times and
even addressed his late coming for the present meeting. She also added that
although he is supportive, he could do more to assist her in the duties they
both share.
• For improvements, she suggested he learns to allocate his time productively.
Bryan kept the ball rolling with the following:
• Concerning Nkwelle’s strengths, he applauded him for his willingness to do
the work.
• But for Nkwelle’s weaknesses, he addressed Nkwelle’s lack of follow up.
• And lastly for improvements, he proposed Nkwelle put more energy into his
work.
John having worked with Nkwelle multiple times before this had nothing but praise as
he said the following:
• He applauded Nkwelle for always taking charge and also praised his
activeness and urged him to keep on.
Frederic spoke on the following:
• Firstly, he applauded Nkwelle’s communication skills and he also agreed with
Dorenoel supporting the fact that Nkwelle is an active member.
• But for Nkwelle’s weaknesses, he touched the fact that he doesn’t take charge
as the group assistant and urged him to step up.
Jose continued by:
• First of all, agreeing with Dorenoel on his activeness and also adding that he is
attentive to details.
• But for weaknesses, he backed Frederic in saying that as the group assistant,
he doesn’t take up his role as required.
• Jose suggested that he improve on his leadership.
Achah concluded with the following:
• For strengths, he mentioned Nkwelle generally comes out with good points
concerning assigned work. He (Achah) also finds it easy to communicate with
Nkwelle.
• As for weaknesses, Achah pointed out based on the experience of that day, he
thinks Nkwelle isn’t punctual and he urged him to work on his time
management skills as an improvement.
3. JOSE DE KAJOS
Dorenoel kicked things off with the following:
• She praised him for his absolute commitment, activeness and dedication.
• With respect to weaknesses, she carefully addressed the fact that the pitch of
his voice is a bit too high and the essence of what he says during a
presentation might get lost because people might tend focus more on how he
sounds rather than what he is actually saying.
• She suggested he speak with more bass.
Nkwelle completely agreed with all what Dorenoel had to say as he applauded Jose
for his dedication, activeness and commitment to the group, but also urged him to
work on his voice.
Achah kept it moving with the following:
• In addition to all the previous praise of the other members, he also
acknowledged the fact that Jose is easy to communicate with and always
prioritises the group.
• Achah also urged Jose to work on his confidence during presentations.
Frederic made mention the following:
• He praised Jose’s exceptional reliability and willingness to do the work given,
in addition to all the previous praise.
• As for weaknesses, he pointed out that Jose is a bit lacking in his
communication skills out of the group.
Both John and Bryan agreed with all what had already been said, but Bryan went as
far as saying and I quote “I think you might be the best among all of us”.
4. ACHAH
Dorenoel had the following opinions of Achah:
• For strengths, she acknowledged his ability to withstand peer pressure, and to
always be truthful.
• As for weaknesses, she pointed out his lack of punctuality and suggested
better time allocation.
In addition to what Dorenoel said, Nkwelle had the following to say:
• He recognised as a strength, the fact that Achah always smiles no matter the
situation which he (Nkwelle) feels is good for the morale of the group. He also
mentioned Achah’s straightforwardness.
Jose agreed with all what both Nkwelle and Dorenoel had to say for both the strengths
and weaknesses, and even the improvements.
Frederic in addition to what had already been said, outlined the fact that Achah is very
reliable.
John agreed with the fact that Achah is Honest but wasn’t able to say anything else
because he didn’t feel like he’d known Achah well enough.
Bryan on the other hand mentioned the following:
• He furthermore praised Achah’s honesty and Resistance to peer pressure
calling him the Guardian Angel of the group. Furthermore, he commended his
appearance saying he generally always looks responsible which makes people
take him seriously during presentations. And lastly, he added the fact that he
thinks Achah is a perfectionist.
• With respect to weaknesses, he felt like Achah’s perfectionism often leads him
to have unrealistic expectations of the group and thereby moving faster than
the other members are ready or capable to move.
• As for improvements, he urged Achah to be mindful of the entire team.
5. FREDERIC
Dorenoel had the following to say about Frederic:
• She made mention of his collaboration as a strength.
• But for his weaknesses, she addressed the fact that he appears a little bit too
serious and even went as far as saying and I quote “You smile only when
necessary” and because of that she sometimes feels like she can’t
communicate with him.
• As an improvement she suggested that he smile more.
Nkwelle followed up by praising Frederic for the following:
• His genuine interest for working with people, his social skills and the fact that
he brings up outstanding ideas whenever he speaks.
Jose kept it moving by acknowledging Frederic strengths as he termed him an active
and reliable group member, and urged him to keep up. He also praised his technical
and presentation skills.
Achah furthermore added:
• He thinks Frederic is a “Cool Guy” which makes it easy to communicate with
him. He also appreciated Frederic’s availability when work pops up.
• For his weaknesses Achah backed Dorenoel saying Frederic can look scary
sometimes and he should learn to smile more.
John hasn’t taken note of any particular Strengths which Frederic possesses. In his
exact words, “He doesn’t really know.” But for weaknesses he brought out the fact
that he thinks Frederic is anti-social and should work on his people skills.
Bryan concluded with the following opinions:
• For strengths, he considers Fredick an involved, and committed member and
he likes how Frederic always brings up pertinent points when he speaks. He
also agreed with Achah with respect to Frederic’s Cool Guy vibe.
• For weaknesses, he all but summed up what Dorenoel and Achah had to say,
encouraging Frederic to loosen up a bit.
6. JOHN
Concerning John, Dorenoel had the following to say:
• She started by acknowledging his communication in the group as his strength.
• She followed up by pointing out that he’s very disorganised and proposed that
he learns how to prioritise his events.
Nkwelle having worked with John multiple times before this had the following to say:
• As a strength, he recognised the fact that John is always up to the task and
also made mention of his activeness in the group.
• As for weaknesses, Nkwelle made mention of the fact that John always seems
to be lost.
• In respect to improvements, he urged John to take his time and do one thing at
a time.
Jose had the following to say about John:
• For strengths, he appreciated the fact that John is very jovial.
• As for weaknesses, in unison with what Dorenoel had mentioned, he also
pointed out the fact that John is very distracted and urged him to focus on the
task he (John) is carrying out at the given moment.
Achah also in unison with all what had been previously said, both strength and
weaknesses, acknowledged the fact that John makes himself available to listen and
makes his own points when necessary.
Frederic also had something to say as he mentioned the following:
• For John’s strengths, he applauded his willingness to do work, his involvement
in the group and his communication skills.
• For his weakness, he strongly agreed with the fact that John is distracted and
even went as far as saying, and I quote “Try to prioritise one thing at a time,
you’re not Superman”. At some point during the meeting Frederic even had to
confiscate John’s phone to keep him focused.
Bryan concluded with the following:
• For his strengths, Bryan backed what Frederic said concerning John’s
willingness and involvement adding the fact that John generally comes up
with good ideas and is Jovial which he (Bryan) thinks boost the morale of the
group.
• But for weaknesses, in addition to what had already been said, Bryan pointed
out his lack of follow up.
• For improvements, Bryan had similar ideas to what had already been
mentioned.
7. BRYAN
Concerning Bryan, Dorenoel had the following to say:
• For his strengths, she commented about how social he is, his willingness to
work, his collaboration, his care for other group members and his desire to win
as a team.
• For his weaknesses, she noted the fact that he doesn’t give much room for
others to talk during presentations.
• As an improvement, she suggested he be mindful that others also have to
speak during presentations.
Nkwelle followed up with the following:
• With respect to strengths, Nkwelle backed up what Dorenoel had to say, but
also mentioning that Bryan loathes failure for himself and the people around
him, he makes the group lively, and he brings up standard points.
• With respect to weaknesses and improvements, Nkwelle was absolutely on the
same page with Dorenoel.
Jose kept it going with the following:
• He appreciated the attention Bryan pays to little details, and also made
mention of the fact that Bryan is a critical thinker and finally, he backed what
had already been said about Bryan’s care for the group.
• Jose didn’t think Bryan had any particular weaknesses, but he did urge him to
work on time allocation during presentations.
Achah also had nothing but praise as he mentioned the following:
• He kicked things of by commending the way Bryan presents himself
especially in his dressing. He also took it a step further by saying and I quote
“It’s like you’re the behind-the-scenes leader of the group” while commending
his leadership skills, he also made mention of the fact that Bryan always likes
being prepared and finally, he appreciated the way he brings the group
together.
Frederic also had quite a bit to say:
• As he begun by backing Achah concerning Bryan’s general presentation, as he
said and I quote “He looks like something from a Vogue magazine”. He also
commended him on his thoughtfulness, positive energy and his collaboration
skills.
• Concerning weaknesses, he stood with what Dorenoel had to say.
John wrapped it all up by simply stating he thinks Bryan is active and social and
urged him to just keep being himself.
With that the meeting which begun with grumbles and complaints, ended in all smiles
and laughter at 16:30.
