CIB 2001 – Organizational Behaviour

Individual Presentation: TED Talk (20%): Due date – Week 4 to Week 7

You are instructed to give an individual 4-minute TED Talk on a trending OB topic. Each student will
be given a main theme/topic and essentially choose their own specific topic that is related to the theme
given (Please refer to the name list and topics in Spectrum). In each week (Week 4-7), individuals will
present their talk. There is no submission for this assignment.

Instructions:

1. Choose Your Specific Title/Topic

Pick a subject you're passionate about that connects with the Organizational Behaviour topics
given. It should be unique, interesting, and relevant to your audience. You need to register your
topic in Spectrum

2. Research Thoroughly
Use reliable sources like books, academic journals, and reputable websites to build a well-rounded
understanding of your topic.

3. Craft a Clear Message

Define the key message you want to deliver. Keep it concise, thought-provoking, and impactful.

4. Create Engaging Content

Develop your speech with storytelling, examples, stats, or visuals. Ensure your content grabs
attention and provides value to your audience.

5. Practice! Practice! Practice!

If you want to become familiar with the content and flow of your TED Talk, you should practice it
numerous times. Identifying areas in which you could improve can be accomplished by practicing
in front of a mirror, with friends or family, or by recording yourself. Pay close attention to the time,
tone of your speech, and body language that you use.

6. Visual Aids
Keep your slides simple and visually appealing. Use minimal text and relevant images to enhance,
not distract.

7. Time Management
Stay within the 4-minute limit. Practice to ensure your talk doesn't exceed the time. Marks will be
deducted should you exceed the time.

8. Avoid Plagiarism
Ensure your content is original. Plagiarism to any available TED talk will result in major penalties.
