Festival Top (Type A)

This Festival top has several variations in silhouette also variations in yarn over technique.
Each silhouette goes well regardless of gender that pattern has been divided into two types
as A and B.

Festival top is knitted from bottom up, round knitted until arm hole opening area.
From arm hole opening area, garment is spilt into two (front and back panel) then continue

Back panel knitted first and continue to knit and split for neckline. Then continued for
shoulder.

Front panel is knitted same way as back panel and joined together on top of the shoulder
line.

Thank you for knitting a pattern from misternaknits! @misternaknits

Please check my account for details on variations and technique.

7 Pattern

This pattern is based on continental knitting.

7.1 Yarn over

Note, when you knit in flat, start from row 1, row2 and 4 is on WS (wrong side).
Continue one row until end of the stitches and continue to next row.
This pattern is used for whole garment.

✓ Tip, row 1 and 3: Slip stitch from LN (left needle) to RN (right needle) knit wise,
place slipped stitch from RN to LN and knit 2 stitches together. Yarn over next
stitch and repeat until end of the row. For next row knit and purl on yarned over
stitch.

Pattern is based on: Yarn over knit wise, next row for purl, purl from back loop, this will
prevent yarn to create extra tension which will make garment sideways as result unless
intended.

Please refer to Eunsang Na 🧶 (@misternaknits) • Instagram photos and videos for several
ways of doing yarn over and its overall outcome.

8 Construction (Instruction)

Note, arm hole and neckline stiches are picked up 2 out of 3 stitches (from arm hole area
and neckline) and knitted longer than expected length as picture below.
This way upper body creates comfortable fitting once garment is finished.

6
8.1 Lower Body (Type A and Type B)

This garment is knitted from bottom up, started from Italian cast on,

Type A: 144-(152)-176-(186) stitches

Type B: 168-(180)-192-(202) stitches

After Italian cast on, (it is easier to create magic loop from 2nd row of Italian cast on method,
this prevents garment to get twisted)

Place stitch marker, from beginning of stitch.

From beginning, (Back panel) 1. Armhole decrease/2. Shoulder/3. Neckline decrease/4.

Crewneck (middle neck)/5. Neckline decrease/6. Shoulder/7. Armhole decrease,
continue to place stitch marker, // 8. (Front panel) Armhole decrease/9. Shoulder/10.
Neckline decrease/11. Crewneck (middle front neck)/12. Neckline decrease/13. Shoulder/14.
Armhole decrease.

Type A: 9/8/13/10/13/8/9 // 9/8/16/8/16/8/9 – (9/8/16/10/16/8/9 // 9/8/19/8/19/8/9) –

12/10/16/10/16/10/12 // 12/10/19/8/19/10/12 – (12/19/19/10/19/12 // 12/21/10/8/10/21/12)

Type B: 9/14/13/10/13/14/9 // 9/14/16/8/16//14/9 – (9/14/16/10/16/14/9 // 9/14/19/8/19/14/9)

– 12/14/16/10/16/14/12 // 12/14/19/8/19/14/12 – (12/14/19/10/19/14/12 //
12/14/21/8/21/14/12)

continue round knit with 1K,1P until end of the row for total of 7rows.

Now ready to start pattern!

Continue to knit with yarn over (refer to 7.1 pattern yarn over) until arm hole decrease for:

Type A: 16-(22)-24-(28) cm
Type B: 32-(34)-40-(42) cm,

Last row should be row 2 or 4 (from pattern)

8.2 Type A Upper body

8.2.1 From arm hole decrease (Upper body)

Remember that last needle you did should follow pattern row 2 or 4 from the pattern.

Garment is split into back and front panel for example, (back panel) 9/8/13/10/13/8/9 // (front
panel) 9/8/16/8/16/8/9, start from back panel with decrease every other row for 3 stitches
each by doing this,

The next round will split the garment into back ad front.

7
So, you are only using these to stich marker. The row starts at the first mark.

Then you are starting to decrease on the front right side by K3tog, Slip RN to LN, K2tog, YO,
*K2tog, YO*, continue doing pattern between ** until 3 stitches before the marker that
separates the front and the back.

Then K3tog.

Now you have decreased on both part of the front.

Continue the round by decreasing the back the same way (continue the same round-row you
are on) K3tog, Slip RN to LN, K2tog, YO, *K2tog, YO*, continue doing pattern between **
until 3 stitches before the marker that separates the back and the front. K3tog. Now you
have made the arm holes and separated the back and the front.

You are now at the end of the back.

8.2.2 Back panel with decrease,

*Now you are continuing knitting the back and front separate flat. Start from the wrong side
on the back.

When knitting the back, the ends will always end with a K on the RS.

So, first row is P, *K, P* continue between ** out the row like the pattern and you will end the
row with a P. *

Next row,** K3tog, Slip RN to LN, K2tog, YO, then continue K2tog, YO until 5th stitch of stitch
marker (end of the back panel), K4tog, YO, K.

Next row: K, P (from wrong side this is row 2 or 4 from pattern) **.

Repeat ** ** this total of 3/3/4/4 times, 9/9/12/12 stitches.

Now decrease is finished.

Next row: *P, K, P (from wrong side),

Next row: K2tog, YO, then continue until 2 nd stitch of end of row, YO, K. * Continue knit
pattern between ** for 30-(30)-(34)-34 cm.

Tip, Upper body area should be knitted longer than expected length (arm hole and neckline
is picked up 2 out of 3 stitches) for example, measurement G measured 35cm prior to
picked up for arm hole and it became 27cm, neckline will also reduce about 2 cm as well
once stitches are picked up. This is intentional to create comfortable fit and 3D line around
arm and neckline.

8
8.2.3 Neckline decrease preparation
Now you would have stitch marker,
Type A: /8/13/10/13/8/ // /8/16/8/16/8/ – (/8/16/10/16/8/ // /8/19/8/19/8/) – /10/16/10/16/10/ //
/10/19/8/19/10/ – (/19/19/10/19/ // /21/10/8/10/21/)

After knitted expected (this continues from row 1 or row 3 from the pattern),
