TEACHING AND LEARNING STRATEGIES


1. Pupils turn to Pulse 2 page 66 and read the information in the Fact box and look at the word “charity” on the
PRE-LESSON board.
2. Pupils brainstorm a list of other charities (e.g. Red Cross)
3. Pupils look at Activity 1 and discuss in pairs whether they like shopping or not.
4. Pupils discuss answers as a class.
5. Pupils move on to Activty 2 and read the text on a second-hand shopping.
6. Pupils answer as a class where they can shop for free.
LESSON 7. Pupils proceed to Activity 3 and read the questions carefully.
DEVELOPMENT 8. Pupils read the text again to answer 6 comprehension questions.
9. Pupils compare answers in pairs before discussing as a class.
10. Pupils remain with their partners and go on to Activity 4.
11. Pupils discuss 5 questions about shopping for second-hand things in Malaysia.
12. Pupils discuss the questions as a class.
13. Pupils discuss in pairs whether they think that there should be more second-hand shops in Malaysia and why it
POST-LESSON is important.
14. A few pairs share their discussion with the class.
