1.) Following are the different types of file tools according to its shape:

Flat File

This file is of rectangular cross-section in shape. It is made slightly tapered both

in width and thickness. Double cut teeth are cut on the face and simple-cut teeth
are cut on the edge. These are used to reduce flat surface by filing of finishing.

Round File

This type of file has a round section. It is used for rubbing or finishing keyhole of
small diameter.

Half-round File
It is a file which is on the side and curved on the other side. Double cut dents are
cut on it and like a round file, it is also tapered. With this file, the damaged hole
can be set in order again.

Triangular File

It is a file which is on the side and curved on the other side. Double cut dents are
cut on it and like a round file, it is also tapered. With this file, the damaged hole
can be set in order a

It is triangular in shape. Its angles are of 60°. Filing of “V” slots job, square and
rectangular jobs of above 60° and below 90° angle are done with this file. It is
also known as three square files.

2.) Different Types of Clamps:

Hand Clamp

Hand Clamps are the tools which are hand operated tools and are used to
position or hold the work pieces during an assembly while undergoing any
manufacturing process. The key specifications hereby include some intended
applications like the clamp type or grip range along with the clamp features.

The Hand clamps are usually available in a very wide variety of styles which
includes bar, draw, parallel and toggle which are used for various applications
like book binding, picture framing or door making and for certain other
manufacturing operations. Clamps are mostly used with laboratory glassware
which are also included here as well.
Mechanical Clamp

Mechanical clamps are the devices which are used to hold hoses or tubes in
place on the ends of the pipe spuds. The specifications of such clamps include
the type of clamp, diameter and material. These devices are also named as hose
clamps which are also used wherever a flexible fluid connection needs to be
made.

For instant within the water pump of an auto engine and the inlet spud of

the radiator. These are made in various sizes and materials which include metal
or plastic that depends upon the application which can be designed as single-use
or as reusable devices.

Pipe Clamp
Pipe Clamps are the mechanical devices which are used for hanging or securing
pipes. The specifications of such clamps include applications like clamp type and
pipe diameter. The pipe clamps are commonly used in piping and plumbing
applications for the purpose of hanging various different types of pipes. These
clamps can also be for the exhaust pipes, guard rails and conduits amongst all
the others. It is amazing to know that there are various styles and sizes in which
these devices are available including a variety of materials which depends on the
type of pipe that needs to be hung.

C-Clamp

These types of clamps are quite popular and is the standard go-to clamp for
various jobs. The best part is that its simplicity and availability are unmatched
which means that most of the clamp collection starts with few sizes of C-Clamps.
With respect to the popularity of the C-Clamp there are various designs which
are available for various types of job requirements.

Ground Clamp
Ground Clamps are referred to as mechanical devices which are used for
working for grounding wires, rods, pipes, antennas etc. other than these it is also
used for some of the specific tasks like welding and refueling of an aircraft. The
specifications of such clamps include the intended application and material.
There are various types of ground clamps which are available depending on the
construction of the ground wire.
F-Clamp

The f-clamp are the types of mechanical devices which are designed for a wide
opening capacity. These clamps are found having a slider bar which allows the
opening capacity which can be easily adjusted in order to satisfy a wide range of
applications. This feature of f-clamp has made it very popular clamp and this is
the reason why it is used when a C-Clamp’s opening capacity is too small.

3.) Types of Vices and Their Applications

Pipe Vice
The pipe vice is used in the plumbing work to hold the pipes in the vice to secure
the tubing when cutting or threading is done. It is designed to hold the vice pipes
which are as small as 3mm or as large as 200 mm. It may be fitted on a
workbench or may be used with a mobile tripod stand. The mobile tripod stand is
usually used for projects to be performed outside the workshop, they are
portable, and are easy to transport. We can combine two or more for longer
pipes.

Tool Makers Vice

This type of vice is used to hold the difficult job which is in a small size while filing

and machining. It can be swiveled to set the work at any angle.

Drill vice

This is a strong vice with a movable joint. It can be moved forward and backward

by rolling the handle of the movable jaw. This vice is used while drilling on small
pieces.

Bench vice

Bench vice is the most important types of vice which is used to hold the task
during performing operation like chipping, threading, tapping, etc.

4.) Shear

Shear are multipurpose devices used in the cutting of alloys and other sheet
metal. Some shearing machines use a scissor-like, angular shear action to cut
metal into sheets or strips. Other, larger machines use a straight shear action
with the blade fixed at an angle as opposed to the angular movement.
5.) Pipe Cutter

Pipe cutters are tools used for slicing or cutting pipes. They are commonly used
by plumbers due to their reliability and efficiency. In addition to providing clean,
professional-quality cuts, pipe cutters are often more convenient, fast, and easy
to use than alternatives such as hacksaws.
6.) Pipe Threader
Pipe threaders are one of the essential tools that has the ability and precision to
cut threads on the ends of a pipes to both the female and male attachment. It can
be used in various applications in different industries including mining, plumbing,
and even in heavy industrial applications and many others.
7.) Types of Reamers

Hand Reamer

Hand reamers are classified as fluted or rose reamers which have a slight taper
on the cutting end to ease entering inside the hole properly. These reamers may
be solid or expandable reamers, but the expansion is limited to a certain level.
The blades are usually placed irregularly around the body of the reamer. It is
placed in such a manner to reduce the tendency to chatter, which a reamer has
due to slippage or torsion.

Shell Reamer
Shell reamers are mounted on special arbors which are made to fit using the
driving pins for proper machine use. These are designed mainly for free cutting
material and well finished reaming holes to the desired size. The application of
such reamers are in drill presses, lathes, automatic screw machines etc.

Fluted Reamer

Reamers are used to accurately widen or finish premade holes. They do this by
cutting in a rotary fashion, much like a drill.
Machine Reamer
Machine reamers are used on machine tools such as drill presses, lathes, and
screw machines. They have either straight or tapered shanks; hand reamers are
slightly tapered to facilitate entry of the reamer and have a straight shank with a
square end to fit a wrench.
