BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
As what Ms’ Buccat said, that the efficacy of the EDSA carousel has been tested, that’s why we come up
with our research entitled “the efficacy of EDSA carousel to the local commuters: road to successful
transportation tourism” because we want to know whether the EDSA carousel busway is really effective
to the local commuters in various aspects because we all know that there are various plans after plans
that has been implemented to cure the problems in EDSA and it is obvious that some are effective and
some are not, so we thought of this newly implemented EDSA carousel bus way to make a research to
identify if this new solution is effective and in order to help for further improvements needed for this
project in making the local commuters commuting life be better and to cure the long-time traffic
congestions around EDSA, as we, our group, believes that the EDSA Carousel is not just an additional
public transportation to the local commuters rather EDSA Carousel was more than just a change in
managing traffic flow in EDSA.
RESEARCH QUESTION 2
In research question 2, How do respondents assess The Efficacy of the EDSA Carousel to The Local
Commuters in terms of routes, conveniences, and travel time.
Synthesis
Upon comprehension of the various studies, facts, and ideas, provide evidence that EDSA being known
as a congested road, still has a chance and room for changes and improvement, also as per public
transportation like the EDSA Carousel Busway, further improvement of public transportation is needed
for its convenience to the local commuters in the aspect of availability, accessibility, safety, and
sustainability. Furthermore, improvement is considering crowdsourcing as they are the ones who really
know and have experienced and seen all of the things that need to be improved and have. Innovation is
also one of the keys performances needed for public transportation to continue to give quality service to
commuters, this innovation can be adapted to other countries with successful public transportation
because it is proven that successful public transportation tourism leads to the continuous growth of
country’s economy as well as its people.
Research instrument
The researcher use a survey questionnaire to gather data from the respondents, there are 4 parts to the
survey questionnaire, 1st part the demographic profile, second part how respondents assess the Edsa
carousel busway, third part problem encountered, and last part the utilization of findings in order for
the EDSA Carousel become efficient for successful transportation tourism.

So, in our survey questionnaire question 2, we, the researchers, want to know how our respondents rate
the effectiveness of the EDSA carousel for the local commuters in terms of;
2.1 routes (we want to know how effective the carousel is to local commuters).
2.1.1 if EDSA Carousel is conducive for the commuters to travel on their respective routes.
2.1.2 if EDSA Carousel buses are significant for travel in designated routes.
2.1.3 if EDSA Carousel buses are available to local commuters in accessible routes
2.2 Convenience (we also like to know how much easier it is for the local commuters to use the edsa
carousel
2.2.1 if Commuters feel relax when using the EDSA Carousel bus.
2.2.2 if EDSA Carousel lessens the burden on the commuters financially.
2.2.3 if EDSA carousel buses allow commuters to feel safe when traveling.
2.3 Travel Time (Here, we want to know whether commuters’ travel times decrease or increase when
they ride the Edsa carousel)
2.3.1 if Commuter reach their destination on time using EDSA Carousel Buses.
2.3.2 if the long queue of commuters waiting for EDSA Carousel bus led to commuters to arrive late to
find their destination.
2.3.3 if the travel time using the EDSA Carousel bus allow the commuter to feel comfortable and relax.
