Designing and writing work was done by him. With his creative and purposeful
thinking, our group has been able to complete the project in time. As we talk
about the technical detailing of the project, he helped so much with his
awesome practical knowledge. The main contribution in the mind map as well
as the product development canvas. He helped in creating and placing canvas
detailing and images.

1.1 Design Thinking:

 Design thinking is a formal method for practical creative resolution of problems and
creation of solutions, with the intent of an improved future result.

 In this regard it is a form of solution-based or solution-focused thinking starting with

a goal (a better future situation) instead of solving a specific problem,

 By considering both present and future conditions and parameters of the problem,
alternative solutions may be explored simultaneously.

 Explanation design thinking is an approach that allows an individual to analyze a

problem in the present and think about its practical solution that will reduce or rejects
the problem in the present as well as the future.

 It is different from scientific thinking in a way as scientific thinking includes

assuming all parameters and then thinking of a solution to the created situation with
all the parameters predefined.

 On the other hand, design thinking creates a solution to the existing problems with all
the parameters at their natural values.

 This is a better option as it includes natural thinking and not the predefined one so
design thinking is largely adopted in surrounding for human solutions.

 Design thinking is a formal method for the practical, creative resolution of problems
and creation of solutions, with the intent of an improved future result. In this regard, it
is a form of solution-based, or solution-focused thinking starting with a goal (a better
future situation) instead of solving a specific problem.

 By considering both present and future conditions and parameters of the problem,
alternative solutions may be explored simultaneously. Unlike analytical thinking
design thinking is a process that includes the building up" of ideas, with few, or no,
limits on breadth during a 'brainstorming" phase.

2.1 Observation through AEIOU and other methods:

Understanding the problem of society is one of the biggest challenges for engineering
students as till now we were making projects on imaginary ideas. So, the first session was
based on understanding the domain of the problem in a broader sense with emphasized on
interacting with the people of our domain area which includes more casual talks than ta
ethnic sections. We were mostly observing what are the major the basic problems of the
people in our domain. The area our domain was steering system as we know there are a
number of peoples are present for their different purpose or reasons or duties all of them are
from different backgrounds and must. perform different functions or utilize the space in a
different way. As in our first Canvas of activities we have observed the following activities.

In this stage, we find the various users which are directly or indirectly related to our project
for example shopping malls, and Multiplex. Hospitals, Residential Purpose, Educational
Area, Religious Area.
It Describers Place Conditions Challenges & other Factors Also the Interaction Between
Different People in Different Situations.
The AEIOU stands for A= activities
E= environment
I= interaction
O= object
U= user

Activities of users
• Surface Selection
• Installation
• Wiring Component
• Error Correction
• Area Distribution
 Calibration
• Inspection

Environment:
 Weather
 Highways
 Crowded Place’s
 Industries
 Unloading Dock’s

3. Mind mapping:

Then we had used coggle for our mind mapping. It provides a great platform to make a mind
map which can be used for easy analysis The snapshot of our coggle sheet is below

2.3. Fig: - Mind Mapping

A mind map is a diagram used to visually organize information. A mind map is hierarchical
and shows relationship among peace of the whole. It is created around a single concept,
drawn as an image in the centre of a blank page, to which associated representation of ideas
such as image, words and parts of word are added. Major ideas are connected directly to the
central concept, and other ideas branch out from those major idea.
The non-linear but hierarchical approach of mind maps makes them an excellent way to
organize your ideas, plan and essay, and makes note for content. Mind maps are purposefully
colourful and work well when combined with imaginary to present ideas, concepts of
information. This canvas can be prepared with multiple colours in the canvas to make it more
effective and to highlight necessary things of the domain.

Product Development Canvas

Fig.5.1 Product Development

The PDC consist of the various sections as User, Purpose, Experience (User Fee i.e. User’s
feelings, expectations, and experience from the developed product – imagine/visualize this),
Functions, Features, components and validation/re-validation.
Working on a PDC is an iterative exercise, once done first-hand, more and more revisions
will enhance the product development spine. Create versions, more of it over a period of
time. Improve each version or break-it-down to specific needs of the visualized product.
