various lines, shapes and colors that are clothed in a recurring design
that they have more inception and resources so far.

Here are some examples of their fabric designs that contain

different shapes and lines and can generate a pattern.

Does their design show different lines, shapes and colors?

This is an example of prints radial that can be used as median
design. These prints can be used on different objects such as clipped
shaped round cardboard.

Physical Fitness

Essential Questions
 How can physical activity make as physically fit?

Most Essential Learning

Competencies

Learning Objectives
The learners should be able to:
 Describe the benefits of physical activity
 Identify the health and skill related fitness
 Understand and be able to apply the exercises

Lesson 2
LESSON 2 The elements of Physical Fitness

Physical fitness is a state of health and well-being and, more specifically, the
ability to perform aspects of sports, occupations and daily activities. Physical
fitness is generally achieved through proper nutrition, moderate-vigorous
physical exercise, and sufficient rest.
14
Lets Get Active

.
What is the skills individuals need to develop in order to properly
fulfill their duty? How important are these qualities in their work or
profession?

Keep in Mind

Physical Fitness is also daily work without immediately tired and does
not require additional strength in times of need. It also refers to the
qualities that help meet the body's needs according to the task. It
consists of two ingredients: health-related and skill-related.

Health-related skills refer to health while skill-related substances

are related to the ability of labor. Each substance is important to
maintain health care.
There are five health-related skills. It is the cardiovascular
endurance, a endurance, a strength, flexibility, and body composition.
There are tasks that do well to show these substances and are
developed through various trials or tests (Physical fitness tests).

Cardiovascular endurance is the ability of the heart and lungs to work

together to provide the needed oxygen and fuel to the body during sustained
workloads. Examples would be jogging, cycling and swimming. The Cooper Run
is used most often to test cardiovascular endurance.
Muscular strength is the amount of force a muscle can produce. Examples
would be the bench press, leg press or bicep curl. The push up test is most
often used to test muscular strength.
Muscular endurance is the ability of the muscles to perform continuous
without fatiguing. Examples would be cycling, step
machines and elliptical machines. The sit up test is most often used to test
muscular endurance.

Flexibility is the ability of each joint to move through the available range of
motion for a specific joint. Examples would be stretching individual muscles or
the ability to perform certain functional movements such as the lunge. The sit
and reach test is most often used to test flexibility.

Body composition is the amount of fat mass compared to lean muscle mass,
bone and organs. This can be measured using underwater weighing, Skinfold
readings, and bioelectrical impedance. Underwater weighing is considered the
“gold standard” for body fat measurement, however because of the size and
expense of the equipment needed very few places are set up to do this kind of
measurement.

Skill-related skills include agility, balance, coordination, power,

reaction time, and speed. Like health-related Substances, there are also
tasks that make it very good to show them. Also, often a task can
possess various skill-related skills. Each substance is also developed
through various trials (Physical fitness tests).

•Agility is the ability to change and control the direction and position of the
body while maintaining a constant, rapid motion. For example, changing
directions to hit a tennis ball

. • Balance is the ability to control or stabilize the body when a person is

standing still or moving. For example, in-line skating.

• Coordination is the ability to use the senses together with body parts during
movement. For example, dribbling a basketball. Using hands and eyes together
is called hand-eye coordination.

• Speed is the ability to move your body or parts of your body swiftly. Many
sports rely on speed to gain advantage over your opponents. For example, a
basketball player making a fast break to perform a layup, a tennis player
moving forward to get to a drop shot, a football player out running the
defense to receive a pass.
• Power is the ability to move the body parts swiftly while applying the
maximum force of the muscles. Power is a combination of both speed and
muscular strength. For example, fullbacks in football muscling their way
through other players and speeding to advance the ball and volleyball players
getting up to the net and lifting their bodies high into the air.

• Reaction Time is the ability to reach or respond quickly to what you hear,
see, or feel. For example, an athlete quickly coming off the blocks early in a
swimming or track relay, or stealing a base in baseball.

Meals should be keep the foo clean by washing it properly before

cooking Foodborne illnesses don't just come from restaurants. In fact, they
usually come from bad food preparation, serving, and storage at
home. Follow the guidelines below to keep your food as safe as possible:

 Wash hands and surfaces

often using hot, soapy water. Wash
your hands before and after you
handle food or utensils, especially
raw meat, poultry, fish, or eggs.
 Wash all fruits and
vegetables before eating.
 Separate raw, cooked, and

separate cutting boards for these
foods. If not, be sure to wash
cutting boards carefully with soap
between uses.
 Cook foods to a safe
temperature using a food
thermometer. Uncooked or
undercooked animal products can be unsafe.
 Keep hot foods hot (above 140 degrees) and cold foods cold
(below 40 degrees) to prevent bacteria growth. Refrigerate foods within
two hours of purchase or preparation (one hour if the temperature is higher
than 90 degrees).
 When in doubt, throw it out. If you are not sure that food has been
