ACADEMIC PROJECTS
EXTRA HEAVY OIL RECOVERY USING STEAM ASSISTED GRAVITY DRAINAGE (SAGD): A thermal production method for heavy oil that pairs a high-angle injection well with a nearby production well drilled along a parallel trajectory. The pair of high-angle wells is drilled with a vertical separation of about 5 m. Steam is injected into the reservoir through the upper well. As the steam rises and expands, it heats up the heavy oil, reducing its viscosity. Gravity forces the oil to drain into the lower well where it is produced.
HYDROCARBON POTENTIAL OF TRIAS GHADAMES BASIN
The project was given as a part of our curriculum to make us familiar with the mentioned basin, its exploration history, development efforts and production statistics. Our team did an extensive research relating to such parameters, with a geological aspect under the guidance of Dr. Alok Kumar Singh, Associate Professor of Geology, and RGIPT. Our findings were presented in a thorough report, which received positive feedback.
INTELLIGENT FIRE ALARM SYSTEM (Co-promoted by Gas Authority of India Ltd): Developing a wireless fire alarm system that can be monitored and controlled using a mobile application with the capability of self-testing and provide exit routes to minimize installation costs, property loss and save human lives in fire hazards.
HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING ROOM: Developing an air conditioning solution to maintain the room temperature of a HPC Control room. All three forms of heat transfer were kept in consideration. The project was completed using Visual Basics in MS Excel.
LOAD DISTRIBUTOR: Built a simple mechanical load distributor for nearby daily waged labors which was based on the concept of distributing loads around the shoulders and waists and therefore reducing direct pressure on the neck which can lead to severe injuries.
