I. Objectives

At the end of this lesson the students should be able to:

a. define verbs;
b. demonstrate understanding of verbs through an activity;
c. appreciate the importance of verbs in real life situations

Materials: Visual aids, pictures, laptop, and video presentation

III. Procedure

A. Preparation
1. Drill
The class will do the prayer, and arrange the chairs; the teacher will check the attendance for the
day.
2. Motivation
The teacher will instruct the class to perform the motivation activity flashed in the projection
screen which is entitled, “If you are happy and you know it.”
B. Lesson Proper

1. Presentation
The teacher will introduce the new topic to the class by asking questions regarding the activity
that they previously performed and set the class for the discussion.
2. Discussion

The teacher will discuss the topic to the class. She will define what is verb and do the thorough
discussion about the topic to be understood clearly by her students.
3. Enrichment Activity

After discussing the topic to the entire class, the teacher will let the students perform another
activity entitled, “Do as I say” in relation to their topic to see if the students really understood
the discussion. She will let the students stand and do some stuff that depicts various actions. This
activity will also serve as a preparation to the next part of her lesson.
4. Application
The teacher will be posting sentences in the board that contain verbs. This activity is entitled
“Match Us Well.” The students must be able to identify which word in the sentence is a verb.
5. Generalization
The teacher will help generalize the topic by first asking the students questions about the topic
and the importance of their topic in real life.
IV. Assessment
The teacher will now assess the understanding of her students by administering a 10-item test
where the students should construct their own sentences and underline the verb that is found in
each sentence.
V. Assignment
The teacher will let the students study in advance about their topic for the next day which is
about the types of verbs.
