About this audiobook
THE OVERNIGHT VIRAL SENSATION AND NATIONAL BESTSELLER
The bestselling phenomenon, When the Moon Hatched, is a fast-paced fantasy romance featuring an immersive, vibrant world with mysterious creatures, a unique magic system, and a love that blazes through the ages.
The Creators did not expect their beloved dragons to sail skyward upon their end. To curl into balls just beyond gravity’s grip, littering the sky with tombstones. With moons. They certainly did not expect them to FALL.
As an assassin for the rebellion group Fíur du Ath, Raeve’s job is to complete orders and never get caught. When a rival bounty hunter turns her world upside down, blood spills, hearts break, and Raeve finds herself imprisoned by the Guild of Nobles—a group of powerful fae who turn her into a political statement.
Crushed by the loss of his great love, Kaan Vaegor took the head of a king and donned his melted crown. Now on a tireless quest to quell the never-ebbing ache in his chest, he is lured by a clue into the capitol’s high-security prison where he stumbles upon the imprisoned Raeve …
Echoes of the past race between them.
There’s more to their story than meets the eye, but some truths are too poisonous to swallow.
""A wild ride that thrills as much as it enchants . . . This remarkable book is an instant classic.” — Thea Guanzon, New York Times bestselling author of The Hurricane Wars
“When The Moon Hatched breathes new, beautiful life into the genre, as Sarah A. Parker weaves lyrical prose with undeniable chemistry. I laughed, I cried, I got everything out of this. It’s an absolutely stunning fantasy world that everyone should sink their teeth into.” — Raven Kennedy, internationally bestselling author of The Plated Prisoner series

The narration in the audiobook receives mixed reviews, with some disliking the monotone delivery and others enjoying it. Overall, the story is engaging and worth reading, even if the audiobook narration is not preferred.

Overall, it was good. I wish it had a different female narrator. Also, everand doesn't offer the supplemental pdf to go with the book which leads to a ton of missing information. I'm likely going to try re-reading it on audible so I have the glossary information to make it clearer, or pick up a print copy. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

Hmm IDK how I feel about it. I mean it was interesting and had a bunch of things happening, but man Raeve is stubborn, I understand why but it would have been better if she just women up and jumped into her frozen lake and saw her past. Imagine remembering all the love she had for Kaan and now that she is believed dead she can actually be with him. But nooo She spent too much time running from her past that it left the story half made with a very messed up ending.
I can't wait for book 2 so I can have some sort of closure. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

The hype made it feel like it should have been more. If I read it before the hype it probably would have been a 4.
But they made it sound like it would be ground breaking - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

I really enjoyed the story, filled with dragons, magic, love, and adventure. It’s an engaging tale with intriguing characters and an immersive world. The pacing was generally good, though at times it felt repetitive, especially with the constant reminders of the characters’ love and struggles. The audiobook cast did a fantastic job, bringing emotions and moods to life, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it’s a captivating fantasy, though it could have been a bit more concise. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

It's worth a re-read, trust me!
I got through it the first time, and it was so much info I got overwhelmed and kind of disconnected from the story to get to the end. I liked it, but I honestly couldn't have told you what happened. I did a re-read and took some notes throughout, and it made a huge difference. I already knew the big picture and could really appreciate all the small details and hints and could really appreciate the writing. It is beautifully written, and I am so glad I gave it another go. I was brought to tears multiple times with the intense imagery, and there is so much emotion in every character. I can't wait for the next one now! - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

If it wasn’t for the narrator, I wouldn’t have been able to get through this. The authors in depth descriptions sometimes went a bit too far with a poetry like description sometimes had me rolling my eyes because it was a bit much. The author is exceptional and brilliant, but if I was just reading this book, it was easy to get lost. I give the narrators five stars and will immediately listen to anything done by them. They were absolutely amazing. - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5

This one was a no for me. The story was an interesting concept and I liked the world well enough but the writing was just trying too hard. It felt like she was being paid by the word & added a bunch of fluff without it actually adding to the mental imagery or the plot. If you read the summary of the plot, there is no way you would think this book would be over 700 pages/20+ hours. Also if you're going to have multiple voice actors, why can't they speak their part in the other person's POV rather than the current narrator doing their weird lady/man voice? I might pick up the sequel just to see what happens, but I also might just Google the plot and save myself the time. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

I have so many feelings about this book— and that fact tells me I will remember it for a long time to come. I love the author's writing style. It is rich and lovely. The world building is unique and fascinating. The characters are complex and layered. The romance and spice are perfect!!!
Now for the bad news: as an audiobook, this book falls short. The female narrator is monotone much of the book (when she isn't doing dialogue) her reading style is grating and boring. The further she gets into the book, the monotone gets a little better, and I found I got used to it somewhat. The male narrator is perfection. I love that he has a deep, gravely, sexy voice without it being so deep that it blasts out my eardrums. The audiobook can be hard to follow at times because the world building and storytelling are complicated and unique. I DNFed the audiobook a few months ago when I tried to listen the first time. This time I gave up trying to understand all the details and decided to just go with the ride, and that's when I fell in love with the book. My advice is to read this as a book vs listen to the audio if possible. It is absolutely worth a read. One of my favorites for 2024! I'll be among the first to download the sequel coming late 2025. - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5

This is OK. The whole plot seems to copy existing fantasy books. The whole romantasy field is starting to seem totally unoriginal and oversaturated. All of the romantsy books seem to copy each other. Furthermore, I was not a fan of the writing style; it was overdramatic and juvenile.1 person found this helpful

I like this book, however, Kaan’s voice is so high pitched when they are tandem reading at the same time. It’s nice and deep when it’s from his POV, but I can’t stand it when his voice is so high pitched when it’s him and Rave talking. He’s a big masculine man, but in the book he sounds feminine. I’m not sure if Rave’s narrator is also doing Kaan’s during those parts, but that kinda killed it for me. Good story, audio could have been much better. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Stick with this if you don’t immediately get into it; it took me about 15 chapters before I suddenly couldn’t put it down. The characters are complex and likeable, there’s humour, but above all the story is immensely moving. Unfortunately the female narrator is very robotic, so hopefully they’ll get someone else to do the remaining books.1 person found this helpful

The story is a yes and I’m absolutely going to continue to READ the book. But this narration is the absolute worst. I usually listen at 1.5-2x speed & it was awful at regular speed it was unbearable. DNF the audio but not the book. This book deserves better narration.2 people found this helpful

Okay first chapter and I was hooked. Then the female narrator began and it was just really not for me. Sounds like AI doing the narration. Tried to get through it but I couldn’t. Even googled what others thought because I was amazed a production company actually approved this. I really feel bad for the Author, I hope her book gets another chance with a different narrator.4 people found this helpful

I'm confused. It says supplemental pdf comes with audio book but then when I asked for assistance they say this app doesn't do that. We are missing extremely important info by n ot getting that PDf which is probably why people are confused about the story. We are missing the glossary to reference during the story such as family trees, definitions of species and animals. I won't read without this info. Please help2 people found this helpful
