#1 BESTSELLING GLOBAL PHENOMENON

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas comes a seductive, breathtaking book that blends romance, adventure, and faerie lore into an unforgettable read.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a terrifying creature arrives to demand retribution. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not truly a beast, but one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled her world.

At least, he’s not a beast all the time.

As she adapts to her new home, her feelings for the faerie, Tamlin, transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But something is not right in the faerie lands. An ancient, wicked shadow is growing, and Feyre must find
a way to stop it or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

This is my second time reading this book and I love it even more than the first time. I can visualize all of the characters and the courts, I can smell the flowers and feel the wind as their described in the books. To me, that’s what makes it such a great read time and time again. On to book two again!!

The story has an interesting plot. I enjoyed the story overall. I like how the author setup the story and hinted at what is to come for the next books.
I had to listen to audiobook version because the story is a little wordy for my taste. Unfortunately I get bored easily. I listened to it between 1.2x speed and1.5x speed.

I loved the book when I read it and wanted to listen to it. However, I didn’t really care much for the voice actor. I don’t know if it was my speakers or what, but to me it didn’t sound like professional audio quality, and I was not able to focus on the story.

If you are looking for some softcore erotica involving furries than you are in the right place. Tamlin, the main love interest, did not do much for me, but Rysand is highly promising as a Damon type character from Vampire Diaries.

I have mixed feelings about this. I think it was well-written and very thoughtfully detailed while also being fairly easy to follow. The characters were multifaceted and the world was vibrant. I was genuinely rooting for the main characters because they felt so real.

I did find it to be slow/redundant in parts. Plus it’s essentially a more gruesome/expanded beauty and the beast retelling. Also some parts can seem too convenient and Feyrea can get really annoying.

Overall, I’m not huge into Roman-tasy books but I enjoyed it for the most part.

Sadly the narrator didn’t read the books at it should. She “read”. This before or after she was supposed to, and change few worlds in the process.

I really dislike the constant repetition and lack of chemistry. The characters have the depth of a piece of cheap copy paper. It was painful to get through this in my opinion.

Wow! So I was worried in the beginning that all of book tok had lied about this series being good or worth the read. A court of thorns and roses builds very slowly and not the speed I usually enjoy. Once you get past that point, hang on to your knickers what an amazing journey to be on. It is a trust the process work and when compared to the Empyrean series or the Zodiac Academy or even Vampire Academy is a much slower paced read. Which can be refreshing at times. Can't wait to read A Court of Mist and Fury!

Where to start. I really did enjoy this book for the most part, but for the love of…Could Feyre be any whinier? Either be the heroine you’re supposed to be or be the simpering, whiny girl wallowing in a perpetual state of self-pity and victimhood. Pick a lane, sweetie. She’s the main character in the story and I can’t stand her! I’ve rolled my eyes so many times trying to listen to her constant complaining that my brain feels like it’s been run down a cheese grater a few times. I thought to myself “self, how do you really feel about this Feyre character?” I landed soundly on “I hope the bad guys just put her out of her misery”. I did really like Lucian. For all of his smartassery, he’s actually quite charming, patient (he’d have to be, wouldn’t he?) and kind. And, for all of his faults, and he has many, I liked Tamlin. I really do think he means well, but he has his own past trauma and regrets to deal with, and having to deal with a whiny, puking, reckless girlfriend every day would drive anyone to make questionable decisions. I mean, how many times can Feyre be told that, being new to the world of the Fae, something is too dangerous for her to be involved in, which she even admits to her self is too dangerous, and then she decides to go out, by herself, and do the dangerous thing? I know, I know…I’m supposed to hate Tamlin for locking her in the house to keep the selfish, petulant child from danger. Perhaps I just WANT to believe he’s redeemable because he put up with her for longer than I could have. Either way, I guess the next book will tell me more of what I need to know about Tamlin. So, in a nutshell, I took away one star (and that was generous) because Feyre irritated me. The narration is excellent. She does a great job bringing each character to life. I will be starting the next book in the series this week. I can only hope that Feyre puts on her big girl panties and stops puking long enough to try a little introspection and figure out how to move forward and leave the annoying toxic, tantrum-throwing victimhood behind.

Not what I was expecting but decent. The other books in the series are much better if you can get through this one. Ferye annoys me I don’t like her very much. I feel that either of her sisters would have been a better fit over her.
