Heather Graham (b. 1953) is a bestselling author of more than 150 romance, suspense, and historical novels that have sold seventy-five million copies worldwide. Raised in Florida, Graham went to college for theater arts, and spent several years acting, singing, and bartending before she devoted herself to writing. Her first novel, When Next We Love, was published in 1982. Although she became famous as an author of romance novels, Graham has since branched out into supernatural horror, historical fiction, and suspense, with titles such as Tall, Dark, and Deadly (1999), Long, Lean, and Lethal (2000), and Dying to Have Her (2001). In 2003 the Romance Writers of America, whose Florida chapter Graham founded, granted her a lifetime achievement award. She lives, writes, and scuba dives in Florida with her husband and five children.

This is the 4th book from Graham's New York Confidential series. And this one has the whole gang from Finnegan's back including Kiernan, Craig, Danny, and the FBI boys. Also joining the party are the Ark of the Covenant, Aliens, bank robbers, Vikings, and Knights of the Templar. This book is a bit much.
It focuses on an island just off New York owned by the family of Craig's cousin Finn. Finn was planning on opening a resort on the island for New Yorkers to just get away for a while. The island appears to be cursed however when Finn's best friend and business partner Richard is killed while exploring the caves. When his body is found it appears, he has written the word ALIEN in the sand. The only people known to be on the island when he was killed were Finn, his girlfriend and Richard's girlfriend. Finn calls his cousin Craig, an FBI agent to help. Kiernan goes with him to the island and the "adventure" begins.
Lots of history regarding the island and the people who are believed to have been on the island in the past. The ending seemed crammed in to make it fit. Not much to match the buildup. I was hoping for more to explained but it is what is from the authors perspectives.
