About this audiobook

1898: Bound for Chicago, the freighter Jerry McGuen goes down in Lake Michigan, taking with it every man aboard. But what other fate could befall a vessel carrying the ill-gotten sarcophagus of an Egyptian sorcerer?

Now: A veteran diver and "ghost ship" expert is exploring the legendary wreck for a documentary. He dies inexplicably inside the freighter's main saloon. Then another diver is killed and panicked rumors rise like bubbles from the lake: ancient demons have awakened below!

The expedition's beleaguered financier calls paranormal investigator Katya Sokolov to Chicago to save the film—and perhaps some innocent lives. Along with media forensics guru Will Chan, Kat plumbs the depths of an evil that may date back to the time of the Pharaohs. But some secrets are best drowned in the seas of the past....

An Egyptian treasure, a vengeful mummy, a sunken shipwreck 80 feet down in Lake Michigan, this one has all the ingredients to make a page-turning mystery of epic proportions. I have read all the "Krewe of Hunters" books and this was the best.

When the remains of a cursed ship with a sarcophagus of a famous Egyptian sorcerer is discovered along with loads of treasure, people start dying. Is the curse at work or are the deaths coincidental?

Paranormal investigators Katya Sokolov and Will Chan join the investigation to determine if the deaths were from natural causes, supernatural causes, or perhaps something far more sinister.

Overall the novel was an enjoyable murder mystery, but I did find it very predictable. This is my first Heather Graham novel, so perhaps if I had read others in this series it might have helped.

A fun quick read, just what I need in the summer! Liked the action. Some of the plot development was predictable in terms of relationships, but it was still solid and interesting enough to hold my attention. I'd probably give other books by this author a try, though I still lean more towards paranormal and fantasy.

    Pros:
    * exactly what you want out if a mystery
    * paranormal investigative stuff works hand-in-hand with real FBI stuff
    * interesting characters

    Cons:
    * I know it was my own fault for staring in the middles of the series, but I really didn't get a feel for the "krewe of hunters."
    * the person doing the audio recording had a limited range of voices and the medical examiner sounded like Kermit the frog.

Overall this was a fun mystery and perfect for a road trip. Plus it it was set in Chicago, involved a mummy, and there was diving in Lake Michigan.

Listened to this through Audible.com. I liked the story and the characters were familiar, having met them in other Krewe of Hunters books. I found the narrator's voice for the hero distracting, and therefore, did not enjoy it as much as I should have. Interesting stofy.

In Graham’s paranormal mystery novel, a veteran diver and “ghost ship” expert dies while exploring a legendary wreck for a documentary. Without explanation, another diver dies and panic begins to spread. Rumors about ancient demons begin to circulate, terrifying everyone in their wake.

The expedition’s financier calls paranormal investigator Katya Sokolov to Chicago to investigate the situation. Teaming with media forensics guru Will Chan, Kat plumages the depths of an evil that may or may not date back to the time of the Pharaohs.

An excellent addition to the Krewe of Hunters series. I couldn’t put it down until the last page!

This is good but over the top makes it funny some how. Thier is some sex scenes that I skipped over.
This is a story with Texas Krewe unit for the FBI. It also features one member of the original Krewe of FBI agents
    with extra powers.
In Chicago on lake Michigan a diver found the ship that had all the Egyptian artifacts that sunk years ago. Thier
Musuem had the rights to salvage the ship. Brady did not want to wait to see if his figures where right. So he broke
all the rules and went diving by himself. Brady saw somthing besides the ship and he ended drowning with 5 min. of air
    left.
Because of favors in the past Logan sent Katya Sokolov sent into the case to look at the body of Brady autopsy. Kat is a forensic pathology. Plus she sees dead people.
Will Chan is already in Chicago so he is asked to stay and look into this case too.
If thier is a case than the rest of the texas Krewe will come out when they finsh the paper work for thier last case.
Brady death is from Drowning but he has some suspicous bruises on his arms and around his mouth.
While they are in thier hotel rooms each one hears like someone is trying to get in thier rooms. They don't see anyone but thier is
a piece of mummy cloth on the wall by thier rooms.
The Texas Krewe last case was in Hollywood and surrounded the remaking of a mummy Amun Mopat movie now this one they
might actually find Amun Mopat on board the sunken ship that killed everyone that people called it cursed.
While they are trying to find more about who might be after the Egyptian artifacts they find another dead body. It looks like
a heart attack in a 80 year old. They find another piece of mummy cloth and Kat talks to the ghost and he says the mummy did it.
Kat & Will join the diving crew and the documentary of the dive and while Kat is in one part of the ship she sees some of
the ghosts at the time before thier death.
It was good and a fast read. If you have liked her other books than you will like this. I guess I could not take seriously all
those bright people believing in mummys. Now ghost of the mummy I can almost believe.
I was given this ebook to read in exchange of honest review from Netgalley.
