Background: Leprosy, also known as Hansen's disease, is a chronic, infectious and treatable disease that primarily affects the skin and the peripheral nerves. Clinico-histopathological correlation of leprosy case assumes a pivotal role in early diagnosis and proper labeling of a case and thus leads to better management of patients. Aim: To study the clinical and histopathological correlation among leprosy patients attending a tertiary referral centre in this post elimination era. Materials & Methods: Study was conducted at a tertiary hospital during July, 2014 to June, 2015. Total 72 new cases of leprosy were selected purely on clinical ground (WHO criteria) attending dermatology OPD. Then these patients were subjected to slit skin smear examination and skin biopsy. Histopathological classifications of sections were done on the basis of the scheme put forth by Ridley (1974) and later it was correlated with the clinical classification across the Ridley-Jopling spectrum to evaluate the concordance among two. Results: Both clinically and histopathologically, BT constituted the predominant group 52.80% and 41.66% respectively. The overall clinico-histopathological correlation was seen in 41 cases (56.94%). Maximal concordance was noted in indeterminate leprosy (100%), followed by polar forms of leprosy i.e. LL (80%) & TT (75%). The least concordance was seen in mid-borderline leprosy (16.66%). Conclusion: This study highlights the importance of histopathological examination in assessing the leprosy cases as the under-treatment of MB cases will lead to persisters in the community and thus spread of disease and possible danger of drug resistance too in this era of elimination.

La profilaxis pública de las enfermedades venéreo-sifilíticas en España La prostitución fue prohibida en España por Felipe IV, mediante pragmáticas de los años 1623 y 1661, estableciendo lo que se ha denominado un régimen prohibicionista para esta actividad. Obviamente, estas disposiciones y diversas medidas penales promulgadas durante los tres siglos siguientes no sirvieron para que la prostitución desapareciera, pero sí lo hicieron los prostíbulos legales y su ejercicio pasó a ser una actividad fundamentalmente callejera y fuente de gran escán-dalo social 1. En el siglo XIX las medidas sanitarias comienzan a dar fruto en el control de epidemias que cau-saban una enorme mortalidad (en el periodo 1860-1885 la esperanza de vida en España era 29 años) 2 y aumenta la preocupación por las enfermedades venéreas, situación que se incrementará a principios del siglo XX, cuando estas enfermedades sufren una gran expansión como consecuen-cia de la I Guerra Mundial. Aunque ya a finales del siglo XVIII comienzan a surgir propuestas a favor de una tolerancia y re-gulación de la prostitución, que incluiría una vigilancia sanitaria 3 , sólo a mediados del siglo XIX diversas ciudades y provincias españolas comienzan a aprobar normativas y a nombrar médicos para realizar un control sanitario de las prostitutas y de los prostíbulos. La oposición ciudadana, cambios políticos, insuficiencia presupuestaria y problemas organizativos de diversa índole hicieron que los intentos estatales, provinciales y locales para establecer un control higiénico de la prostitución entre 1845 y 1918 no llegaran a ejecutarse o tuvieran una mínima eficacia 1. En este último año, las continuas quejas, especialmente las procedentes de las autori-dades militares, por el aumento de las enfermedades venéreas y la falta de éxito de las medidas para combatirlas, motivan un nuevo intento gubernativo para intentar atajar el problema, mediante una Real Orden, disponiendo que se aprueben y publiquen las Bases para la reglamentación de la profilaxis pública de las enfermedades venéreo-sifilíticas, redactadas por la Inspección General de Sanidad y siendo Ministro de la Gobernación José Bahamonde y de Lanz 4. Se establecía así un régimen o sistema reglamentarista de la prostitución. La época en que se aprobaron estas Bases, conocida como Crisis de la Restauración, se caracteri-zó en España por una intensa agitación política y social, que conllevó grandes dificultades para su puesta en marcha. Además, importantes movimientos internacionales, apoyados por numerosos especialistas y políticos en España, fueron decantándose por la abolición de la prostitución y, con-secuentemente, la desaparición de medidas represivas o de control obligatorio sobre las prostitutas (régimen abolicionista), creándose una continua tensión y alternativas entre las medidas de tipo reglamentarista y abolicionista 1,5-7 .

Traditionally, genitourinary medicine (GUM) and contraceptive services have been provided separately. Providing these services on one site, as a one-stop shop, has been suggested as a way of improving access to care. There is little evidence about the acceptability of such an approach. We aimed to assess acceptability of different one-stop shop models (a young people's, an all ages (mainstream) and a general practice service) of sexual health provision among different community groups. Between April and December 2005, 19 semi-structured interviews and 14 focus groups were conducted with young heterosexual men (n = 48), men who have sex with men (MSM; n = 46) and minority ethnic men and women (n = 28) across England. Knowledge of one-stop shops was limited. The concept was acceptable to participants (except MSM), although there was variation as to the preferred model. Young men and African individuals described distrust of general practice confidentiality, preferring young people's or mainstream models, respectively. South Asians associated stigma with GUM, preferring instead a general practice one-stop shop. Regardless of model, respondents expressed preference for one provider/one session to provide GUM and contraceptive care. In terms of acceptability there can be no blue print one-stop shop model. Local assessments should determine whether a one-stop shop would have public health benefit and if so how best one should be set up to maximise access. To accommodate client preference for one provider/session for their sexual health needs it may be that the development of "integrated training" for providers across clinical specialties is a more realistic way forward.

Several skin disorders, immunosuppression-induced, have been described in transplant recipients. The aim of our study is to characterize the clinical spectrum of skin disorders and to compare the findings in liver and kidney transplant recipients. A retrospective descriptive study was conducted. Data were collected from the medical records of all liver and kidney transplant recipients from 2000 - 2010 who had been referred to our Dermato-Venereology Department. Three hundred nineteen transplant recipients (23.5%) have been seen, resulting in 410 diagnoses (230 in the subpopulation of liver transplant recipients and 180 in the subpopulation of kidney transplant recipients) grouped into 4 categories: 1) cutaneous infections; 2) skin cancer or premalignant skin lesions; 3) cutaneous side-effects; 4) non-iatrogenic skin disorders. Background: Hair disorder has severe impacts on sociopsychology aspects. Currently, there are limited and outdated studies related to hair disorders in Indonesia. Aims: Our study aimed to provide an update regarding the epidemiology of hair loss commonly occurring in Indonesia Methods: This is a retrospective study that review hair disorder cases at the Cosmetic Dermatology Outpatient Clinic dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo National Central General Hospital between January 2017 to December 2019. Age, gender, family history, education, occupation, body mass index (BMI), comorbidities, and diagnosis of each patient were recorded. Results: From the 64 patients who were eligible for the study, hair disorders was found to be more prevalent in male 54.6% with a mean age of 26.41 + 12.8 years old and the highest age group of 18-39 years old 59.4%. The Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) organized its second Fellows Symposium adjacent to the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) congress in Istanbul in October 2013. Wolf-Henning Boehncke from Geneva, Brian Kirby from Dublin, and Diamant Thaci from Lübeck formed the faculty. The 9 best-ranked abstracts submitted to this symposium were presented and discussed in detail. Five abstracts focused on comorbidities in patients with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis; summaries of all abstracts are included herein.

Biography of the Spanish dermatologist Dr. José Fernández de la Portilla (1889-1943). Before the Spanish Civil War of 1936-1939 he devoted his professional activity mainly to the prophylaxis of sexually transmitted infections. In the period 1939-1943 he was the most prominent Spanish dermatologist, occupying important posts in the College of Physicians, Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Sifiliography and other institutions. He was also Professor of Dermatology in Valencia, Academician number of the Royal Academy of Medicine and Director of the Leprosy of Fontilles. His spirit of concord allowed to achieve the unity of the vast majority of Spanish dermatologists grouped in the Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, in which he was symbolically re-elected president after his death.

While the first traces of interest in skin diseases date back to the 14(th) century recipes from Glagolitic manuscripts, the scientific beginnings of dermatovenereology might be associated with the beginning of the 19(th) century, when in the Rijeka region a 'new disease', called after the village of Škrljevo, was studied by Giovanni Battista Cambieri. This, however, has not been the only disease named after a Croatian toponym; in 1826, Luca Stulli of Dubrovnik was the first to describe the 'mal de Meleda', nowadays recognized as a form of hereditary palmoplantar keratoderma. In 1876, Carl Heizmann, a Croatian from Vinkovci by birth, was one of the founders of the American Dermatological Association. In 1894, the first department for dermatologic and venereologic patients was opened at Sestre milosrdnice (Sisters of Charity) Hospital in Zagreb. Little evidence is available on the extent to which one-stop shops address users' sexual health needs and the extent to which they identify additional needs users may not have identified. As part of the One-Stop Shop Evaluation, a questionnaire was designed to compare the reasons for users' visits and the reported outcomes of visits at a one-stop shop with the experiences of users in separate genitourinary medicine (GUM) and contraceptive clinics. The difference in the proportions of those attending the one-stop shop and those attending the control sites services for a sexually transmitted infection (STI)-related reason who were diagnosed with an STI was minimal, but those attending for an STI-related reason in the one-stop shop were more likely to receive an additional contraceptive outcome. Women attending for a contraceptive-related reason at the one-stop shop were more likely to have an STI screen than those attending the control sites for the same reason, but there was little difference in the proportions amongst this group receiving an STI diagnosis or receiving treatment. When focusing on women attending for a pregnancy-related reason, one-stop shop users were more likely to have received contraceptive advice or supplies. It was not possible in our evaluation to determine the relative effectiveness of the one-stop shop in comparison to the traditional GUM and contraceptive clinics in improving sexual health status, however the one-stop shop was more likely to address additional sexual health needs that service users may not have previously identified.
