This study aimed to discover the internal communication implementation of PT BT in developing employee loyalty. This study was carried out using a descriptive qualitative study method through the case study approach. The data collection was conducted via interviews and observations. The study results revealed that the internal communication implemented by PT BT's HRD was by conducting monthly activities for employees to implement internal communication within the company. Non-conducive condition greatly affects employee performance, which results in productivity. What most determines the means in the company are the leaders and the systems that manage the company. The higher the comfort of working in the company, the more influential it is in creating a comfortable condition in the company because they are the ones who greatly affect the productivity of the company.Communication with employees was carried out in several ways, i.e., weekly briefing with the Sales and After Sales division by creating various communication forums using the Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation concept. The communication activity was conducted in person using a regularly held online media forum according to each division's schedule. Interactions created within the forum grow the sense of togetherness and loyalty for employees. Besides, the company created events to better implement internal communication by conducting internal and external events. If the event was general, all divisions were gathered and selected for the best of the best and was given rewards as an output, such as allowances.

International Journal of VLSI design & Communication Systems (VLSICS) is a bi monthly open access peer-reviewed journal that publishes articles which contribute new results in all areas of VLSI Design & Communications. The goal of this journal is to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to focus on advanced VLSI Design & communication concepts and establishing new collaborations in these areas.

Authors are solicited to contribute to this journal by submitting articles that illustrate research results, projects, surveying works and industrial experiences that describe significant advances in the VLSI design & Communications.

In quanti e quali modi si può parlare di musica? Si può farlo per interrogarsi sui suoi significati, sui suoi meccanismi di funzionamento, sulla sua ragion d’essere in un determinato orizzonte storico, ma anche per esprimere una valutazione, un giudizio critico.
Gli scritti raccolti in questo volume ci restituiscono una mappa articolata dei discorsi sulla musica che popolano il panorama della riflessione contemporanea, tenendo conto della molteplicità di situazioni, destinatari e contesti mediatici che di volta in volta sono chiamati a veicolarli.

This paper presents a list of one million digits having the property that all shustrings over this list are of uniform length, at the minimum value of six.  The similar sequence from RAND Corporation is not nearly so well disordered as is this digit sequence given in this paper.  Indeed, we claim that no sequence of one million digits represents greater disorder than is represented by the sequence of one million purely random digits that is given in this paper.

The formation of customary international law has long been criticized for its lack of a clear methodology, characterized by an ambivalent relationship with state consent. Although customary international law seems to be entirely a creature of state consent, after all it is based on actual practice, in reality the fit with state consent is loose at best. Customary international law only awkwardly bridges the gap between a descriptive and prescriptive norm. Unable to move forward, the study of the formation of customary international law appears to have largely reached an impasse. Yet, states still appear to support and apply customary international law as a source of law, so we are faced with the situation of embracing a source of law that we do not understand well and where the applicable law is often vague.

This article is an attempt to bring into international law a perspective from the hard and soft sciences for discussing the formation of customary international law, specifically the study of critical mass in collective group behavior. This language is not entirely new to discussions on customary international law. Where it has been mentioned, the implications of critical mass theory have not been fully explored. Critical mass can be a loose concept to simply describe the accumulation of small actions that result in large shifts in collective behavior; however, it is also an empirically-based scientific study that attempts to assess how those changes come about. This article seeks to delve more deeply into critical mass and apply the insights from this study to the formation of customary international law.

Following a very brief introduction with background on customary international law, the paper will describe how the social sciences have embraced the critical mass theoretical perspective in the study of collective decision-making. Three primary elements of social change will be identified: (1) the importance of the content of the norm, (2) the role of influence through networks, and (3) the role of key individuals, “opinion leaders” and “opinion diffusors”.

Following this review of the science, the author will draw some implications for customary international law. In particular, the author will re-characterize three major discussions within customary international law into the three key factors of critical mass. The first discussion is that over the qualitative assessment of norms. The second is the growing influence of networks either as transnational governance or international organization rule-making. The final discussion is a proposal to understand the role of the “specially interested” state as a norm entrepreneur. The paper will conclude that study of critical mass can contribute to a better, and more formal, methodology for understanding customary international law.

This paper presents the architecture and VHDL design of a Two Dimensional Discrete Cosine Transform (2D-DCT) with Quantization and zigzag arrangement. This architecture is used as the core and path in JPEG image compression hardware. The 2D-DCT calculation is made using the 2D-DCT Separability property, such that the whole architecture is divided into two 1D-DCT calculations by using a transpose buffer. Architecture for Quantization and zigzag process is also described in this paper. The quantization process is done using division operation. This design aimed to be implemented in Spartan-3E XC3S500 FPGA. The 2D-DCT architecture uses 1891 Slices, 51I/O pins, and 8 multipliers of one Xilinx Spartan-3E XC3S500E FPGA reaches an operating frequency of 101.35 MHz One input block with 8 x 8 elements of 8 bits each is processed in 6604 ns and pipeline latency is 140 clock cycles .

Check Teck Foo discusses the interdisciplinary and holistic roots of Systems Engineering (SE) in the paper Systems Engineering Perspectives on the 2500-Year-Old Art of War by Sun Tzu. He identifies the importance of subsystems illustrations related to systems. He also highlights Sun Tzu’s prediction that performance is related to quantification. Foo finally parallels the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) seven facets of systems engineering as they compare to Sun Tzu’s work and the ASEAN region corporate strategy. We can begin to see Foo’s perspective on philosophical and systems thinking from the subsystems perspective related to Sun Tzu’s work.

This paper details Implementation of the Encryption algorithm AES under VHDL language In FPGA by using different architecture of mixcolumn. We then review this research investigates the AES algorithm in FPGA and the Very High Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description language (VHDL). Altera Quartus II software is used for simulation and optimization of the synthesizable VHDL code. The set of transformations of both Encryptions and decryption are simulated using an iterative design approach in order to optimize the hardware consumption. Altera Cyclone III Family devices are utilized for hardware evaluation.

This paper presents the design of a compact circular microstrip patch antenna for WLAN applications which covers the band 5.15 to 5.825 GHz. The antenna is designed using 1.4mm thick FR-4 (lossy)substrate with relative permittivity 4.4 and a microstrip line feed is used. The radius of the circular patch is chosen as 7.62mm. To reduce the size and enhance the performance of the proposed antenna, a circular slot is loaded on circular patch and a square slot is etched on the ground plane of dimension 30mm×30mm. Design of the antenna is carried out using CST Microsoft Studio Sonimulation Software. The proposed antenna resonates at 5.5 GHz with a wider bandwidth of 702 MHz and it provides low return loss of-31.58 dB, good gain of 3.23 dB and directivity of 4.28 dBi and high efficiency of around 79% against the resonance frequency. The geometry of the proposed circular antenna with reduced size and its various performance parameters such as return loss, bandwidth, VSWR, gain, directivity, efficiency and radiation pattern plots are presented and discussed.

Lifestyle segmentation has been prominently used in marketing and communication to define consumption patterns and marketing communication processes. This article underlines the significance of a multidimensional approach to lifestyle analysis. Bourdieu's statistical technique of 'multiple correspondence analysis' permits to find unexpected dimensions and offer visual representation of the relationships between categories. This technique has been used to re-analyse Konda's 2008 Lifestyle Research data, which was one of the most influential and widely circulated lifestyle segmentation research papers of its time, that introduced the categories of 'anxious-moderns' and 'conservative-moderns'. The patterns identified through multidimensional analysis have been used in discourse analysis that permit to interpret the complex and heterogeneous nature of social dynamics.

      -Taken together, in their entirety, we have the outlines of a solution to the mind-body problem. Or to put this another way, through an overt utilization of the method of "double description" (arising through the evolutionary advantage afforded to us in binocular vision) we perceive difference by comparing materialistic monism with idealistic monism. This going above, or beyond, is meta to the binary positions and, with the assistance of cybernetics, leads to an integral postdualistic monism.

In her article "Paradigms of Communication in Performance and Dance Studies" Nicoleta Popa Blanariu approaches from an interdisciplinary perspective the measure in which performing arts (theater, music, ballet, Indian classical dance, folk dance, etc.), as well as ritual performance constitute a corpus that may be analysed by means of theoretical and conceptual tools in communication studies and semiotics. Popa Blanariu analyses the relation between signification and communication in performing arts, between different codes and artistic expressions through which these are realized, between verbal and the other artistic "languages," and takes into consideration how "linguistic" functions manifest themselves within "languages" specific to various forms of art.

In this study, we proposed a new paging method, angular paging, that reduces the paging cost in distance-based location registration (DBR). DBR causes a mobile station (MS) to register its location when the distance between the current base station and the base station in which it last registered exceeds a distance threshold d. When MS travels longer distance and registers a new location area, it tends to move along with dominant angle. In order to apply this dominant angular movement, we suggested new paging method and showed that the proposed angular paging always outperforms the conventional whole paging.

Abstract: This  article  develops  reflections  based  on  the  book  entitled Ethno-graphie  de  l’exposition  (VERÓN;  LEVASSEUR,  1989). This  choice  is  based  on  our perception  of  the  richness  of  the  object,  method  and  methodology  explicit  and implicit  in  this  study  to  think  about  the  research  lineage  on  mediatization  and social  processes.  Based  on  our  starting  hypothesis  (first  part  of  this  article), we present the work systematically (second part). In the third part, we develop a set of singular inferences, trying to appropriate this investigation as a case – study of a singular medium –, for epistemological and methodological inferences from the perspective of mediatization and circulation. Finally, we point out questions about the relationship between Verón’s semio-anthropological approach and Bourdieu’s concepts of social fields and habitus (within the framework of this ongoing research).

Work on the theory of language has tended to go in three directions: Ref-erentialism, representationalism and social theories of mind and language-including symbolic interactionism and social functionalism. We give a critical review of the conceptual foundations and limitations of each. We show that none are adequate as a complete formal theory that integrates language, mind and society. The work presents the critical, conceptual and foundational motivation for a full theory of communication and cooperation for social agents.

Communication systems use the concept of transmitting information using the electrical distribution network as a communication channel. To enable the transmission data signal modulated on a carrier signal is superimposed on the electrical wires. Typical power lines are designed to handle 50/60 Hz of AC power signal; however they can carry the signals up to 500 KHz frequency. This work aims to aid transmission/reception of an audio signal in the spectrum from 300 Hz to 4000 Hz using PLCC on a tunable carrier frequency in the spectrum from 200 KHz to 500 KHz. For digital amplitude modulation the sampling rate of the carrier and the audio signal has to be matched. Tunable carrier generation can be achieved with Direct Digital Synthesizers at a desired sampling rate. DSP Sample rate conversion techniques are very useful to make the sampling circuits to work on their own sampling rates which are fine for the data/modulated-carrier signal's bandwidth. This also simplifies the complexity of the sampling circuits. Digital Up Conversion (DUC) and Digital Down Conversion (DDC) are DSP sample rate conversion techniques which refer to increasing and decreasing the sampling rate of a signal respectively. The objective was to design and implement low power ASIC of DUC and DDC designs at 65nm for PLCC. Low power implementation was carried out using Multi-VDD technique. MATLAB software models were used to understand the DUC and DDC designs. RTL to GDS flow was executed using Synopsys tools such as VCS, Design Compiler, IC Compiler and PrimeTime. Key milestones of this activity are RTL verification, synthesis, gate-level simulations, low power architecture definitions, physical implementation, ASIC signoff checks and postroute delay based simulations. Multi-VDD technique deployed on DUC and DDC helped to reduce the power consumption from 280.9uW to 198.07uW and from 176.26uW to 124.47uW respectively. DUC and DUC designs have met functionality at 64MHz clock frequency. Both the designs have passed postroute delay based simulations, static performance checks, power domain checks and TSMC's 65nm design rule checks.

This article asks the question why the social praxis of justification has moved to the centre-stage within the debate on transnational legal ordering. The starting point is the development of a generic concept of legally constituted public power aimed at breaking the frames that classically distinguish the national and the transnational and state and society. On that background, two structural differences between national and transnational public power are focused upon. First is the issue of constructing and delineating boundaries, which in national contexts is addressed through reference to territorial borders. Second is the issue of adapting decision-making to changing societal circumstances, which is addressed in national contexts through democracy. Both of these remedies are unavailable or only partially available at the transnational level. It is in order to respond to these deficiencies, it is argued, that a turn to justification has emerged at the transnational level of world society.

Many DSP and Control applications that require the user to know how various numerical errors(uncertainty) affect the result. This uncertainty is eliminated by replacing non-interval values with intervals. Since most DSPs operate in real time environments, fast processors are required to implement interval arithmetic. The goal is to develop a platform in which Interval Arithmetic operations are performed at the same computational speed as present day signal processors. So we have proposed the design and implementation of Interval Arithmetic multiplier, which operates with IEEE 754 numbers. The proposed unit consists of a floating point CSD multiplier, Interval operation selector. This architecture implements an algorithm which is faster than conventional algorithm of Interval multiplier. The cost overhead of the proposed unit is 30% with respect to a conventional floating point multiplier. The performance of proposed architecture is better than that of a conventional CSD floating-point multiplier, as it can perform both interval multiplication and floating-point multiplication as well as Interval comparisons

This essay probes the nature of listening by refusing to pin it down to a single essence. The epistemological value of metaphor is explained in terms of the cognitive metaphor and embodied mind theories of Lakoff and Johnson as well as the philosophies of Rorty and Fiumara. Then the various natures of listening are explained via seven metaphors: (1) Digestion, (2) Recording, (3) Adaptation, (4) Meditation, (5) Transport, (6) Improvisation, and (7) Computation. As a positive example, this set of metaphors promotes recognition of the inherent plurality of listening by staking out distinct facets which cannot be reduced to one another. This irreducibility is made more vivid and conceptually manageable by associating each of these facets with more concrete activities that are literally irreducible, or indeed seemingly unrelated. Moreover, some of these metaphors suggest the complementary and sometimes interdependent nature of diverse aspects of listening.

Purpose: Given the form of functional differentiation of modern society, a far-reaching coordination of functional systems as a dissolution of their heterarchical relationship to each other, as was apparently possible in the social “lockdown” during the corona pandemic, should have been extremely unlikely. The purpose of this study is to explain how this was nevertheless achieved.
Design/methodology/approach: From the perspective of systems theory, social action in principle does not present itself as a problem but as a solution to (latent) social problems. In the sociological analysis presented here, it is therefore precisely a matter of uncovering or pointing out those (changed) social structures in which a social “lockdown” appears as a solution.
Findings: The paper explains that with the emergence of social media through applications such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, a new force is establishing itself at the level of society as a system. It is one that is characterized by being highly vulnerable to moral communication. A susceptibility to morality manifests, on the one hand, through an individual differentiation of society made possible by social media – for example, in the emerging Chinese social credit system – and, on the other hand, through the specific communicative structures of the social media themselves. It is argued that social media, in the form of a moral authority with a lasting effect on society as a whole, make a significant contribution to realizing the social “lockdown.”
Originality/value: The originality of the paper results from the fact that the emergence of a new social phenomenon (“lockdown”) is explained.
