Respect for human rights lies at the heart of good governance. In a democratic society, it is the responsibility of the State to protect and promote human rights. All State institutions whether they are the police department (RAB), the army, the judiciary or civil administration have a duty to respect human rights, prevent human rights violations, and take active steps for the promotion of human rights. Unfortunately, many a time, while discharging this duty, actions of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conflict with human rights. They are pressured to get quick results, often with unofficial guarantees that they may use any means possible to accomplish the task at hand. However sometimes they abuse their power by the name of " Crossfire or Extra judicial Killing " which is the violation of Human Rights frequently occurred in Bangladesh. The main objective of the study is to explain the nature of Cross Fire in Bangladesh. This is qualitative study and data were collected from various secondary sources which included police statistics, the United Nations special procedure mandate holders various non-governmental organization's information and also daily newspaper from many aspects of incidents.

Purpose – The main purpose of this paper is to explore the extra-judicial killing situation in Bangladesh by analyzing both national and international human rights law. In addition, this paper will also identify the remedy that is available for the victim’s family for extra-judicial killing by law enforcement agencies, especially the Rapid Action Battalion of Bangladesh.
Design/methodology/approach – This is a qualitative research where both primary and secondary sources have used to identify the situations of extra-judicial killings in Bangladesh, the human rights instruments and the judicial activism to protect human rights.
Findings – This paper will show impunity of the law enforcement agencies increasing the number of extrajudicial killings of citizens, by violating the Constitutional and International human rights law that deal with “right to life”. The state sovereignty is not hindering the implementation of the international law, but the
judiciary of Bangladesh needs to be more efficient in protecting citizens’ human rights, along with bringing criminal prosecution against members of the law enforcement agencies, by providing “effective and adequate” remedy to the victim’s family.
Research limitations/implications – While analyzing the “right to life” under the International Human Rights Conventions, this paper will only deal with the UDHR and the ICCPR, as Bangladesh has ratified those Conventions.
Originality/value – This paper will add value to identify the present rights of the citizen under domestic and international law and to incorporate new legislation through finding the lack of present legislation to protect the right to life and remedy for extra-judicial killings in Bangladesh.

Merauke Regency is one of the districts in the Papua Province. In 2017, Merauke Regency Government through the assistance of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has implemented a program to provide subsidized housing units. Affordable prices make demand increase, so for some people prefer to build their own homes. Building a house certainly requires careful planning. There are tools to manually calculate RAB using an application such as ms. Excel. The disadvantage is that it takes time to understand how to calculate and enter measurements. In this study, the information system was built in the form of a website, so that it could be used by the community in Merauke Regency without having to install the application on a computer. The RAB calculation method used to make the budget is the SNI method by means of a coefficient multiplied by the unit price to find the unit price of each job. The unit price is multiplied by the total volume of work to get the total cost. At the end, the total calculation of work volume is multiplied by the price of the work unit.

To assess whether these select rab GTPase gene expression changes are reflected in protein levels within selectively vulnerable brain regions (basal forebrain, frontal cortex, and hippocampus) and relatively spared areas (cerebellum and striatum), we performed immunoblot analysis using antibodies directed against rab5 and rab7 on postmortem human brain tissue harvested from cases with a premortem clinical diagnosis of no cognitive impairment (NCI), MCI, and AD. This paper focuses on the marble relief with enthroned Christ built in the north wall in the interior of the church of St Mary at Rab. The author begins by giving an overview of the scholarly literature that mentions this relief before proceeding with an analysis of its iconography. Finally, the author suggests a possible historical context in which the relief may have been produced. Since it was first mentioned in Eitelberger’s book of 1861, the relief has been characterised as early Romanesque – an evaluation agreed upon by most present-day scholars. Scholarly attention has been almost exclusively directed at the issue of the relief’s date and origin, and, due to the high quality of its carving, dimensions and its overall shape, the relief has been interpreted as an imported icon. At the same time, the iconography of the depiction itself has been relatively neglected, although even Abramić noted the unusual form of the lyre-backed throne. The iconographic analysis and interpretation presented in this paper throw new light on the possible commissioners and the historical circumstances that obtained during the period when the church of St Mary still had a cathedral function.

Adult central nervous system (CNS) axons do not regenerate after injury because of extrinsic inhibitory factors, and a low intrinsic capacity for axon growth. Developing CNS neurons have a better regenerative ability, but lose this with maturity. This mini-review summarises recent findings which suggest one reason for regenerative failure is the selective distribution of growth machinery away from axons as CNS neurons mature. These studies demonstrate roles for the small GTPases ARF6 and Rab11 as intrinsic regulators of polarised transport and axon regeneration. ARF6 activation prevents the axonal transport of integrins in Rab11 endosomes in mature CNS axons. Decreasing ARF6 activation permits axonal transport, and increases regenerative ability. The findings suggest new targets for promoting axon regeneration after CNS injury.

The authors focus on the issue of urban elites in two Adriatic towns, Rab and Rovinj, which differ in their origins and development alike. Rab is an ancient civitas, while Rovinj was classified as a terra in the Venetian administrative system. The two towns also differ in the amount of their preserved written sources. Whereas the medieval sources for Rovinj are only sporadic, for Rab there are a number of notarial books from the late Middle Ages, which allows for a different approach to the spatial identification of urban elites than in Rovinj's case. Based on the available sources, the paper compares the development, significance, and status of urban elites in both towns.

The paper presents the results of the population structure research on the inhabitants of the Island of Rab by the analysis of anthropometric, continuous characteristics (morphological variables of head and body) on the representative sample of 601 adult persons (aged 18-75 years) from the settlements Banjol, Barbat, Lopar, Rab and Supetarska Draga (Figure 1). The aim was to investigate the possibility to confirm the existence of population groupings or divisions in one geographically limited area based on the analysis of continuous anthropometric variables.
