Social media have influenced millennials of ulama or Muslim scholars in fatwa production. They access and use online knowledge to make daily fatwa according to community requests. However, limited is known about how the millennial ulama acquire and use the knowledge. We carried out an interpretive case study using a theoretical lens from knowledge creation and use in an information technology context and Islamic sociology. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews involving 36 millennial ulama as informants. The interviews were used to understand the respondents’ perspectives on knowledge acquisition and use in their daily fatwa making within a provincial level of Indonesia Ulama Council (MUI). The findings show that Indonesia’s millennial ulama have intensively acquired and trusted online Islamic knowledge. Also, they construct and use knowledge from online social network interaction in daily fatwa making. This study has implications for the simplicity of Islamic knowledge acquisition and fatwa making. Online knowledge acquisition might have reduced the roles of traditional Islamic education institutions and muftis. Therefore, further research should examine how new knowledge sources have caused this reduction.

La expansión del capital intelectual, alimentada por la generación de nuevo conocimiento, aporta un creciente bienestar a la sociedad. Sin embargo, la brecha entre los países de Latinoamérica y los de otras regiones, debido a la generación de una cantidad sustancialmente menor de publicaciones científicas y patentes, es un problema que requiere urgente atención. Los programas de doctorado que ofrecen nuestras universidades, como productores de conocimiento importantes de nuestra región, pueden incrementar su producción intelectual mediante la gestión del conocimiento (GC), de manera análoga a como las empresas que la han adoptado han incrementado su propia producción intelectual. como objetivo simplificar la adopción de procesos de GC, mediante la formulación de un modelo prescriptivo desarrollado a partir de un análisis teórico y cualitativo de la literatura especializada,
contrastado en discusiones entre los autores, desde
una perspectiva fundamentada en la experiencia combinada de éstos como partícipes y gestores de programas de doctorado. Se espera que la aplicación de sistemas de GC, desarrollados conforme a las prescripciones del modelo propuesto, tengan un
impacto positivo, implicando incrementos en la producción intelectual los programas doctorales

—Nowadays, the explosive growth in data collection in business and scientific areas has required the need to analyze and mine useful knowledge residing in these data. The recourse to data mining techniques seems to be inescapable in order to extract useful and novel patterns/models from large datasets. In this context, frequent itemsets (patterns) play an essential role in many data mining tasks that try to find interesting patterns from datasets. However, conventional approaches for mining frequent itemsets in Big Data era encounter significant challenges when computing power and memory space are limited. This paper proposes an efficient distributed frequent itemset mining algorithm, called ParallelCharMax, that is based on a powerful sequential algorithm, called Charm, and computes the maximal frequent itemsets that are considered perfect summaries of the frequent ones. The proposed algorithm has been implemented using MapReduce framework. The experimental component of the study shows the efficiency and the performance of the proposed algorithm compared with well known algorithms such as MineWithRounds and HMBA.

The importance of knowledge and cultural integration has been widely recognized as a vital condition to an organization survival, especially if knowledge and culture are diverse. This diversity needs to be integrated into organizations in order to establish common knowledge and culture to support its businesses. However, limited studies have been carried out in this area in particular within Islamic banks context. This chapter discusses the strategy of knowledge and culture integration in Islamic banks in Indonesia. This study used a case study approach. Data were gathered from direct observation, in-depth interviews with informants from different level of hierarchies, and written material. The results show that the process of knowledge integration was carried out through various mechanisms such as training, seminars, workshops, formal education, regular morning praying, and religious lectures. Some facilities such as internet, intranet, telephone, books, and brochures were also used to facilitate knowledge and culture integration of the bank. Knowledge integration in Islamic banks has resulted in common knowledge creation. However, employees' beliefs, norms, and values toward Islamic banks principle are not fully changed except in practicing Islamic symbolism in works place. A model for knowledge integration within Islamic banks context is proposed.

El artículo propone un modelo para la gestión del conocimiento en el tema de bioetanol. La propuesta consiste en una plataforma denominada BIOred, que está construida usando el modelo propuesto por Nonaka & Takeuchi, en la cual se presenta la circulación del conocimiento a partir de las fases de combinación, socialización, interiorización y exteriorización. En el Sur occidente Colombiano existe gran dispersión de conocimiento relacionado con alternativas energéticas y uso de productos agrícolas para la obtención de bioetanol, lo que impide la eficiente colaboración entre productores e investigadores. El modelo se construyó utilizando la técnica de análisis estructural, que permitió la identificación y valoración de
los actores claves que constituirían la red y de las factores críticos que soportan la plataforma virtual, finalmente se logró que cada componente de la red se articulara alrededor de una finalidad encaminada a la gestión del conocimiento. El modelo permitirá a los actores involucrados en la producción de bioetanol establecer relaciones de colaboración y cooperación con los investigadores tanto de los centros de investigación como de las universidades de la región.

Knowledge is a key strategic capability in organizations. Although the study of
practices related to knowledge management can be addressed from a great
variety of approaches, the current chapter is based on the strategic
management and dynamic capabilities of the Defence sector. It allows to
explore the management for developing successful programs and,
simultaneously to learn for the next ones in a favorable knowledge context. To
for this endaim, program management should be supported by knowledge
management practices by combining in the same context the internal and
external strategic focus of business. On the one hand, the internal focus should
be on supporting the potential knowledge provided by the lessons learned from
previous programs and projects experience of the team. On the other hand, an
internal-external focus should be on the strategic surveillance and strategic
foresight activities regarding technologies and agents, as well as collaboration
and contracting agreements with partners for implementing the Defence
programs.

Purpose-The current study probes the multi-dimensional link between total quality management (TQM) and knowledge management (KM) and investigates how different TQM's dimensions impacts KM processes and how this nexus impacts organizational performance (operational and financial performance) by considering KM as an intermediating variable between TQM and organizational performance. Design/methodology/approach-Six TQM practices are taken from "Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award", namely leadership, customer focus, strategic planning, human resource management, process management and information and analysis; KM processes include knowledge creation, acquisition, sharing and application and organizational performance comprises operational and financial performance. The researcher put together data from different sized services and manufacturing firms, from small, to medium and large firms located in the United Kingdom (UK). Findings-The results suggested that a positive correlation existed between TQM, KM and organizational performance. KM is also shown to have quite a strong and positive influence on firm operational and financial performance and partially mediates the relationship between TQM and corporate performance. Dimensional analysis indicates that leadership, strategic planning, customer focus and HRM have a significant positive impact on all KM process, while mixed results have been found for process management and information and analysis. The contextual analysis indicates that except for knowledge creation, TQM plays an equally significant role for the majority of manufacturing establishments and services firms. Originality/value-The present research makes a significant contribution to the scarce literature on the relationship between TQM and KM (mainly at dimensional level), particularly in the context of the UK, and provides a detailed understanding of the relations between different TQM and KM dimensions, and how their relationship impacts on the operational and financial performance of different sizes of manufacturing and services firms. Background: The use of adaptable ICTs in teaching and learning is the most critical factor that boosts the learners' interest. The use of ICTs in pedagogy in Africa is still low in primary teachers' colleges. Therefore, the study explored the extent to which adaptable ICT teaching strategies and learning activities influence teaching process in primary teachers' colleges in Africa. Methods: Electronic databases, mainly Google Scholar and African Journals Online, were searched for relevant literature on mixed methodological studies that had been done on the use of adaptable ICTs in primary teachers' colleges in Africa. These had been published from 2014 to 2021. This period was considered with reference to when several governments in Africa emphasised provision of support in terms of ICTs. This focus was on infrastructure, equipment, and capacity building. The search strategy involved adherence to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines for systematic reviews with focus on keywords and the general objective of the study. A total of 2,880 results was found when, 'use of adaptable ICTs in teaching and learning in Primary Teachers' Colleges in Africa from 2014 to 2021' was used to search. Of these, only 304 titles were relevant, while 92 abstracts were closely related to the study objectives. However, 51 were duplicates in the two databases; hence,
