Entrepreneurship education is gaining momentum in today’s world. This article focuses on a teaching intervention introducing engineering students to multidisciplinary innovation and entrepreneurship, using experiential learning and the lean start-up method. We compare the experience and attitude change of engineers enrolled in a mixed cohort of undergraduate business and engineering students to those enrolled in an engineering-only cohort. To evaluate the effectiveness and outcome of the program, data were collected at the very beginning of each course and at their completion. Results indicated interest in entrepreneurship significantly increased at the end of the course and supported the concept that interest in entrepreneurship can be positively motivated through experiential learning. Article type: Research Article The purpose of this research was to present a paradigmatic model for the development of entrepreneurship education in the third generation universities. This research is applied in terms of purpose and qualitative in terms of approach, which was conducted using the grounded theory method. The studied community included all experts in the field of the research. The samples were selected using the snowball and theoretical sampling methods. The stage of data collection continued until theoretical saturation was achieved, and theoretical saturation was achieved with the number of 19 people in this research. Data collection tools included open questionnaire, in-depth individual interview, and note taking. Validity was verified using the triangulation and member check techniques. The results obtained from the research data were extracted and classified in the form of concepts in the process of open, axial, and selective coding. The results showed that for the development of entrepreneurship education in third generation universities, the existence of a set of factors is necessary, the most important of which include causal conditions (such as entrepreneurial leadership, innovative strategy, improving the quality of entrepreneurship education, and human capital development), contextual conditions (such as factors related to entrepreneurial culture, flexible organizational structure, and development of a network relationships), intervening conditions (such as correct policy making and infrastructure development), actions (such as the development of economic and entrepreneurial activities, the development of education and research in the field of entrepreneurship, the development of communications and interactions, the development of cultural-social infrastructures and resources), and consequences (such as psychological consequences, educational-scientific consequences, economic consequences, and cultural-social consequences). Based on the results of the research, updating entrepreneurial training through the development of relationships among stakeholders is suggested.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to provide insights of a systematic literature review (SLR) of the entrepreneurship education and training as facilitators of regional development. Current and future trends in the field are identified. Design/methodology/approach The paper offers an SLR on the entrepreneurship education and training and advances through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis comprising the period 1973-2016. To collect data, only articles published in scientific journals were used in the SCOPUS database. Findings The results highlight that both training and entrepreneurship education can be a strong strategic tool for regional development, and that it is important for entities such as academia, government and business to cooperate towards the same goal in order to strengthen the entrepreneurial intention of society. This research analyses the nascent entrepreneurship and sustainability on the beverage sector through the financial performance of the new emerging business of Portuguese companies. It explains the economic and financial results of new and older companies and discuss the best strategies adopted by them. Most companies are small, characterized by the same selling products: natural mineral water and spring water, flavoured water and soft drinks. Indeed, the research address the sustainability challenges, demands of major investments in sustainable businesses that will provide triple bottom line. The research adds knowledge and transfer to the society, because it is unusual research about entrepreneurship in beverage sector through the new demands on the market reality.

In Mexican SMEs the IDB, COMECYT and CONACYT have sponsored innovation. Target firms belong to priority manufacturing and service sectors and they have been supported through providing technical assistance to generating technology-development projects and innovation-based networks as well as matching funds for those projects. Over 150 Mexican SMEs participated in this effort in the period 2011-2013 to build and implement innovation agendas with the assistance of innovation managers. The rise and global prevalence of entrepreneurialism is seen as an imperative force that drives higher education reform and exerts long-term impact on the transformation of the social institution of universities worldwide (Barnett, 2005; Clark, 1998; Etzkowitz, 2003, 2004; Marek, 2012; Marginson & Considine, 2000; Sá & Kretz, 2015; Shane, 2004; Shattock, 2009; Tang, 2014b). By entrepreneurialism, it refers to the phenomenon that universities, in Schumpeterian sense, are willing to seek to capitalise new opportunities, manage risks and maximise revenues, reputation, or human capital by responding to the demands for education, research and knowledge solutions by the knowledge society and economy and developing new markets for their knowledge-based services and goods (Jessop, 2018). Academic entrepreneurialism concerns more about universities generating activities than resources acquisition (Shattock, 2009) with perspectives which embrace ‘knowledge travel’ across the epistemological and the ontological and time horizon that is by and large in the future
(Barnett, 2005).

I want to, through this chapter, survey the state of the field and present a  comprehensive account of the core and cutting-edge concepts, timely and novel issues and pioneering theories related to the subject of entrepreneurialism and higher education policies. Apart from conceptualising the linkage between higher education policies and entrepreneurialism, this chapter also uses the empirical example of Hong Kong and illustrates a contextual approach to understand the role of higher education policies in an attempted capitalist restructuring from a finance-led model to an innovation-led model (Baark & So, 2006; Wong et al., 2017). The case of Hong Kong demonstrates the state level response, by cities, instead of firms, to the interurban competition and capitalist restructuring in the global knowledge economy
(Jessop 1998; Jessop & Sum 2000), particularly through capitalising the academic profession and scientific capital (Tang, 2020). The contextual approach expounded by this chapter will offer international readers a lesson learned for the function of higher education policies in reconsidering academic entrepreneurialism, rejuvenating innovation in the post-COVID precarious 21st century, and cautioning unintended consequences which uncritical entrepreneurialism would bring.

This study aims to explore how the third mission institutionalization is currently evolving in the Brazilian HEIs and how dynamic capabilities are employed to advance their third mission since the implementation of the Innovation Technology Nuclei (NITs). To address these research questions and answering the call for more replication studies in management studies, including the in the field of entrepreneurship and higher education research, we replicated a recent German study (Stolze and Sailer, 2021) that explained how HEIs dynamic capabilities (DCs) were being translated into third mission advancement. In the context of Brazilian HEIs, this study is innovative for collecting data from individuals managing NITs, the new leading intermediary agencies of innovation in Brazilian HEIs that act as technology transfer offices.

This study aims to identify the transformations from the structural and political point of view at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF) toward an Entrepreneurial University. To this end, the degree of UFF’s evolution and maturity will be verified as such. We then expect to recommend actions to accelerate the institution's evolution in this direction. The authors carried out exploratory research with a qualitative approach to achieve the defined objectives. A review of the literature was carried out, using bibliometric analysis techniques, in themes like Entrepreneurial University and university-company interaction, based on Web of Science, Scopus, and Scielo publications. Primary data generation was done with a survey forwarded to two groups of people. The first group, formed by UFF’s undergraduate courses coordinators, managers of the institution and some of its departments and academic units, and professors who had critical experiences related to the theme, received the research through direct e-mail. The second group responded through a social network platform in a group of university professors to identify structural and political transformations at the University. The analysis of the information collected allowed the application of the model developed by Oliveira and Amaral (Gestão nos Institutos Federais de Educação: experiências e aplicações, PPGA/UFF, 2020) to understand the UFF’s evolution stage as an entrepreneurial institution. As a result, the professors of the institution have relatively low knowledge regarding the theme and the mechanisms to support innovation, both at the federal level and at the institution itself, while there is a good performance of interaction activities. With the application of the Oliveira-Amaral maturity assessment model, it was possible to position the institution at level 2 on a scale from 0 to 6, which means a low entrepreneurial positioning. The sampling for the survey was defined by convenience, without a statistical basis. This selection was made to enable the research by sending the survey to a sample of the accessible population. This research takes a picture of the current moment of UFF regarding what would lead to it being understood as an Entrepreneurial University. According to the Oliveira-Amaral Model, it brings the institution’s current needs and, from the application of this model, combined with the poll answered by a sample of the institution’s professors, actions are indicated to solve such needs. Recent studies have shown that universities and similar public sector research institutions differ in their relationships with user organizations both in relation to the type of new knowledge transferred and to the mechanisms of such transfer. Both the relationships and knowledge transfer are critically affected by the level of sophistication of the receiving companies. The creation of ‘urban knowledge’ has many dimensions, which means that spatial proximity to the sources of new knowledge does not automatically encourage firms to take advantage of what is on offer. PurposeThe purpose of this study was to investigate the personal and contextual factors that influence entrepreneurial intention between two student populations from the United States and Portugal.Design/methodology/approachThe data were obtained through the Entrepreneurship Education Project, a large study that collected over 17,000 responses from students in 70 countries. A subset of this data resulted in 3,008 responses from students in the United States and 1,026 respondents in Portugal. This chapter explores the relation between the concepts of entrepreneurial universities (EU) within the framework of Smart Specialization Strategies (S3). The latter is arising as a new competitive paradigm and universities can be of great importance for its successful implementation because of their contribution both as a partner institution, policy actor and producer of knowledge and social capital that can affect the potential for economic growth and development of regions. The links and contributions of both dimensions are presented and explored. This  paper  paper  focuses  on  the  role  of  universities  in  stimulating students’ entrepreneurial skills. After analysing innovations introduced by European policies, the study discusses the main limitations of the scientific debate on entrepreneurship competences and education. Aiming to fill this gap, the research presents the results of a survey involving 75 students of the University of Macerata (Italy), who participated and did not participate in “IMpresa INaula”, a project promoted by the Regional Government of the Marche Region in 2019. The quali-quantitative research allows both to  measure  students’  personal,  interpersonal  and  technical  skills  and  investigate  teamwork  propensity  and  participants’  perception  of  “IMpresa  INaula”.  The  study  aims  at  understanding  the  correlation  between  student  participation in experiential learning activities and the development of soft skills, also providing practical recommendations for implementing entrepreneurship education in the field of social sciences and humanities.

Na atualidade, o progresso da humanidade vem atingindo um dos seus auges, países emergentes começam a tomar a frente do desenvolvimento tecnológico e econômico mundial. No Brasil tal crescimento é mais bem notado há pouco tempo como algo expressivo e inevitável, uma vez que a necessidade em estar acompanhando tal fenômeno, a fim de se obter uma posição respeitável neste cenário, demanda um avanço progressivo na economia, tecnologia e sociedade, porém é cada vez maior o volume de alimentos e insumos necessários a suprir uma população crescente e com um poder aquisitivo maior. Deste progresso surge uma preocupação constante com a geração de resíduos cada vez maior, sendo os resíduos orgânicos aqueles que expressam um grande desafio no seu tratamento e destino final. É fácil se observar que a separação do resíduo orgânico do
inorgânico é uma tarefa muito difícil mesmo com uma coleta seletiva, uma vez que, é bem comum a utilização de sacos plásticos para a coleta deste resíduo; por isso a necessidade em estar executando um plano de gerenciamento de resíduos orgânicos que elimina completamente o saco plástico e ainda agrega valor. Este projeto justifica a idéia do desenvolvimento sustentável com uma medida simples e barata de gerenciamento de resíduos orgânicos. Com a implantação de um coletor
de resíduos orgânico em lojas e centros de distribuição varejista, cuja finalidade é a de receber somente estes resíduos sem a utilização de sacos plásticos, eliminando então o problema da separação deste resíduo; mas a idéia não se resume somente ao coletor, pois, depois de receber um tratamento simplificado (adição de cal) este resíduo segue para um
silo de secagem, onde permanece até ser embalado e repassados como adubo orgânico. As instalações serão todas compactas, sem a necessidade da utilização de grandes áreas, e não necessitarão de energia elétrica; o projeto ainda se mostra bem capaz de suprir a demanda de uma loja ou centro varejista, coloca uma visão moderna e inteligente na questão do

This chapter presents an exploration into the market entry modes of transnational entrepreneurs. It focusses on the effects of knowledge acquisition and learning to the process. Specifically, it addresses the role of the transnational entrepreneur in acquiring knowledge that results in market entry. The empirical data consists of transnational entrepreneurs from three industries namely, food manufacturing, agriculture and information technology who are engaged in international activities. The research is qualitative using case study. The data collection tool is semi-structured interviews with the data analysed using thematic and content analysis. The findings suggest that transnational entrepreneurs adopt mostly the network or in some cases, the international new venture (born-global) market entry strategy rather than the stage by stage approach. Este estudio busca entender los factores centrales que contribuyen a la continuidad exitosa de las industrias alimenticias de dos univer- sidades adventistas en Colombia y Peru. Dichas fabricas han estado contribuyendo social y economicamente a traves de oportunidades de empleo para estudiantes de estratos sociales bajos. La investiga- cion recogio datos de una serie de entrevistas a gerentes de ambas fabricas. Los resultados evidenciaron que el exito de continuidad     y aporte esta relacionado con relaciones administrativas eficientes entre universidad y fabricas y una cultura de innovacion que busca tener los mejores recursos humanos para adaptarse a los mercados. Los entrevistados tambien expresaron algunas preocupaciones para el desempeno futuro del actual modelo de universidad-industria.
