Wastes to Energy (WtE) technologies is an effective tool for Solid Waste Management (SWM) and has far less detrimental impact on environment as compared to conventional ways of disposing our Municipal Solid Waste (MSW).Sadly most of these technologies proven well in the west are failing in Indian conditions. This report not only tries to prove wrong the myth about WtE technology failure (thermal and biochemical) for MSW but also discusses the guideline from Pune region WtE project for technical and financial feasibility based on city size and garbage generation to derive at a roadmap for Aurangabad. Aurangabad is in urgent need for effective SWM and is assessed for WtE on the bases of the module suggested in this report. Application of the module to Aurangabad is to conclude that WtE projects are not technology failure. The report further investigates other causes of failure and tries to rectify the same by suggesting changes in policy and implementation of project.

Aurangabad is at the center of various public and administrative activities of Marathwada region. It is the center of many socio-political, cultural-religious movement and changes. It is the hub of industrial development and economic growth of Marathwada. Over the years, it has undergone various changes. It was at the boundary of Nizam State when Hyderabad was the premiere place of political, educational, religious and cultural aspects of the contemporary society. In course of time, Aurangabad found its place, after the formation of linguistic states and struggle for independence from the princely state of Nizam, it has gained its momentum in various walks of life. Present paper is an attempt to trace the political changes and its impact on socio-cultural, religious-political and economic life of Aurangabad. The present paper traces the changes in mid-1980s to date. It would be difficult to trace all the movements, changes and developments in chronological and historical sense due to scope of this paper.

Two freshwater bodies, Mombatta and Kagzipura lakes were surveyed for their zooplankton during the year 2016-17. The water was sampled for zooplankton species likIe Rotifera, Cladocera, Copepoda, Ostracoda and Protozoa every month using standard plankton Net. Twelve species of Cladocera, 8 from Copepoda, 7 from Ostracoda, 16 from Rotifera and 4 from Protozoa were observed from the samples collected from both the lakes. The results exhibit a good diversity of all zooplankton groups, that are normally found in a freshwater body. The study points to the importance of studying such kind of habitats, and thus their conservation.

Healing and health care remain one of the essential structural aspects of welfare in the human societies. The practices of healing and psycho-physiological health care and cure are part of the social upbringing in the family and community practices in the wider pretexts. The community health care on various instances is marked by what is preached and practiced under the religious-cultural environment of a society. Similarly, what nature endows to the society through its territorial networks become the foundational and fundamental knowledge systems of health and wellness. The pre-colonial South Asian society largely constituted of similar kind of the religious-cultural plurality of healing and health care. These practices traversed in their healing knowledge through Ayurveda, Unani, SIddha and native practices which were imparted through medication and faith healing. These practices served their own localities and eventually broadened themselves with the formation of various political entities and their cultural spread. At the outset of the 19 th century colonial era, another important structural development in the health care system was that of the inclusion of organised 'Public Health' system both in the British Empire in India and those of the other princely and political entities which were working in accordance to the changing socio-political orders globally. With the coming of the concept of organised public health care systems in the colonial era coexistence of these localised socio-behavioural patterns of health care and organised public health systems brought both friction and exchange in the medical practices. Healing and heath care were now exchangeable terms in the societies of the colonial South Asia.

*Persian Authorship and Canonicity in Late Mughal Delhi: Building an Ark* situates the diverse textual projects of ‘Abd al-Qadir “Bidil” and his students within the context of politically threatened but poetically prestigious Delhi, exploring the writers’ use of the Perso-Arabic and Hindavi literary canons to fashion their authorship. Breaking with the tendency to categorize and characterize Persian literature according to the dynasty in power, this book argues for the indirectness and complexity of the relations between poetics and politics. Among its original contributions is an interpretation of Bidil’s Sufi adaptation of a Braj-Avadhi tale of utopian Hindu kingship, a novel hypothesis on the historicism of Siraj al-Din ‘Ali Khan “Arzu”s oeuvre and a study of how Bindraban Das “Khvushgu" entwined the contrasting models of authorship in Bidil and Arzu to formulate his voice as a Sufi historian of the Persian poetic tradition.

The first book-length work in English on ‘Abd al-Qadir “Bidil” and his circle of Persian literati, this is a valuable resource for students and scholars of both South Asian and Iranian studies, as well as Persian literature and Sufism.
